A great property to step back in time and so peaceful. We only stayed overnight, but the Holly House was quaint, but big enough for 3 adults and a preteen. We wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed at the Holly House cabin. We had all the modern amenities we needed, in a very old cabin. There is no Internet or TV, but we dismiss it. Lots to do on the property, from fishing to a self guided tour of the old buildings on the property. The kids enjoyed it as well as the adults. Very unique kind of place.
Holly House Cabin was so cute. It had all the decor of it's period with many modern comforts. The furniture was comfortable. The porches are nice enough to spend the whole day on just relaxing. The setting of the historic buildings you can tour was a very nice bonus. Beautiful ponds.

We were blown away by the amazing buildings on this property. It is like going back in time...so cool...and they trust you to have access to walk in them...sit in old school desks, church pews, play the old organ...we only got to stay for one night, but it was heavenly!
The cabin was everything it was advertised to be! It was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The grounds were amazing and the historical sites were delightful to tour. We were incredibly impressed and would LOVE to visit again and stay longer.
The Green Frog Farm is an absolute gem, offering an immersive view into a simpler time. The Holly House was very charming. The stairs to the upstairs 2nd bedroom is very narrow and turns and has irregular stair sizes, so it’s probably not a good option for small children, or anyone that has trouble getting around. Other than that, it was wonderful, and we loved all of the antiques on display throughout the house.
The grounds are incredible! We loved the self guided tour through the old church, school, printing press, blacksmith shop, general store and especially cotton gin - it was incredible to see one all set up. They have signs labeling the different states of the process and detailing how it all works so you can really get an understanding of how brilliant it really is.
We also enjoyed the ponds and all of the turtles, and drinking coffee on the porch while watching the squirrels play.
Truly, an amazing place!

What a wonderful stay. Christa was very communicative and greeted us upon arrival, taking as much time as we needed to get acquainted with the property. The cabin was very comfortable, and we loved walking the farm and seeing the different kinds of trees in the arboretum and exploring the gin, print shop, general store, and especially the school and church. This place is really a hidden gem.
This is a cute little house on a gorgeous piece of well kept property. We had no place to stay and happened upon this and so glad we got the opportunity to experience Green Frog

Way better than described on VRBO. The experience is like staying on one of the beautifully restored houses at Williamsburg. The house is a part of a village of 1800’s beautifully restored buildings that includes cabins, a restaurant, a church, a community building, a farm, etc. there are beautiful walking trails throughout the property with ponds and picnic tables and ducks and geese and deer. It’s beautiful and the owners are extremely nice and helpful.
Had a wonderful stay....very clean. Quiet, relaxing and the wood burning fireplace with plenty of wood was great. Lovely front and back porch with access to grill. Will stay again
Wonderful experience. Beautiful property. Excellent blackberry jam! Enjoyed the stay.

Quaint, Charming Getaway
Would accommodate up to five people comfortably. Would not recommend for small children because of the stairs to the loft; they were steep and narrow (they are 100 years old). Other than the staircase, we loved the layout of the house. It has a fantastic fireplace with plenty of wood available. The surrounding grounds were beautiful and took you back to yesteryear. John and family were incredibly helpful with questions and any other needs we had. The three drawbacks, other than the stairs, were the dorm size fridge, the stove only had one burner working (oven didn't work), and could use a good dusting. Even so, we plan to go again, the good outweighs the bad.

Wonderful place to sit back and unwind.
If you enjoy history and want to take a step back in time, this is a great place to do so. Very peaceful, very relaxing. John was a delight to meet and was as easy to be around as the beautiful property that he and his family have assembled. I stepped back in time to the visit's of my youth with my Grandparents in the hills of Tennessee.
Very clean, very well maintained, very accurate in the description. Check out "Bob's Burger's" ( about 3-4 miles away ) if you want a Great burger and the Hot fudge Cake.... almost sinful.

Comfortable, lovely historically restored log home that is part of a community of period buildings.
We rented the cabin to be conveniently close to a weekend family reunion. It was a perfect place for our mother and us 3 sisters from different states to unite and visit with each other. Lovely and peaceful for quality time together. A bonus was the barbecue we were able to order to take to our reunion and Anita's boutique was having a weekend sale for a fun shopping venture. Holly House has a front and back porch with rockers and porch swings we enjoyed eating breakfast in the morning and having a gabfest in the evening. The self-guided tour of the chapel and schoolhouse and other buildings were informative and fun. We took advantage of the free entrance to the nearby Safari Park and were fascinated and entertained. Overall this was a great bonding and relaxing time for each of us. We unanimously would welcome another stay at this property for ourselves and for anybody else. Thank you to the owners!
