Secluded cabin on 200 acres with your own private lake. Relax on the large deck with a spectacular view of the lake and forest any time of day or night. Enjoy fishing in the lake, hiking the many miles of trails, swimming, or just relaxing on the beach. The lake is equipped with row boat and canoe. In the evening, enjoy a campfire in the fire pit. Perfect for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. Sleeps six with queen murphy bed in master bedroom: twin bunk beds; and queen sofa bed in living room. Fully equipped kitchen with dining area, 1 1/2 bathrooms, washer/dryer, ac, wifi, tv/vcr, deck and patio. Only 11 miles from galena with shopping, dining and many attractions. Maximum occupancy 6. Sorry, but no pets or smoking. Rentals are available april through november.

Another great stay

We can’t get enough of this place. It’s close enough to town for a trip for pizza and a visit to the old fashioned ice cream parlor and candy store, yet secluded from the rest of the world to enjoy peace and quiet. We love the fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, exploring, campfires and the family bonding time this wonderful place affords us.

Cabin in the woods

A perfect cabin in the woods! The lake was beautiful! It was so quiet, all you could hear were the birds and frogs. The deck was the perfect spot for morning coffee and enjoying the view. And the fire pit was perfect for s'mores! Great location and not too far from Galena if you wanted to run into town for a meal. Three Sisters in Elizabeth (15 min away) has amazing ice cream too!!

Another perfect weekend

The cabin is just what our family needed. We enjoyed the change of season this weekend and we were super cozy. The trails off the lake are my favorite part. We caught tons of fish and snuggled in for Sunday's football game. The kitchen had everything we needed for a big family meal. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Perfect Getaway

As you descend down the drive you become absorbed into tranquility. You immediately realize that this is your chance to become one with nature. The drive opens to the cabin and pond. You spend your team surrounded by nothing but nature. It was just what we needed and we got some amazing pictures and have some phenomenal memories to take us until our next adventure. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect!

Perfect in every way, quiet, secluded and well kept. Your own lake, plenty of easy fishing, we used the canoe and paddle boat daily. Little beach with sand for the little guy who loved exploring the property. Hiking trails right behind the house that are easily accessible. Already booking next summer, you will not be disappointed! Book it!

Going to the nothing box

My wife and I needed a weekend to do nothing an just relax .Cabin on the Lake was just that. If we wanted to do something the property had it. If we wanted to go somewhere it was close by. Are choice was to enjoy the lake view on the front deck and go to the nothing box,

Steep private road to beautiful lake view and cabin. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Peaceful and serene. Fish were biting and the paddle boat was fun. It was hot during our stay and A/C only on top floor but the scenery is worth it and the shower is not made for fluffy people.

Five years in a row now, and we’re already looking forward to next year. Such a relaxing and tranquil place. My grandson didn’t want to leave, enjoying swimming, fishing, hiking, campfire with s’mores every night. So many stars at night, spotted the ISS, and a few shooting stars.

Amazing!! Peaceful and beautiful!

This is the 3rd time I’ve been here, first with my family. Absolutely love it there! The private lake is amazing and the cabin is just the right size. We all enjoyed the lake and lots of outside activities. Highly recommend for a family or friends getaway!

Lake Get Away

We've stayed here before. Enjoyed the cabin and the beautiful lake. Kids loved swimming and fishing. Property manager was very responsive! Unfortunately, one of our family members had a allergic reaction to something inside the cabin (mold, dust?).

I think this is our fourth year in a row and we are planning on making it five. Word to the wise though, don’t leave your fresh farm stand corn on the picnic table overnight unless you want to make the raccoons happy.

We always have a great time coming here for years! I will say this year it wasn’t very clean and for the second year in a row, no propane was on hand. The property manager did bring some down though, when she brought the toilet paper we were out of as well.

Our family went on houseboat vacations cruising the Mississippi river and skiing at Chestnut Mountain Resort when we were growing up. We loved the area so much my parents looked at property to buy in the Galena area. The first piece of property they purchased was in 1966. The cabin was eventually built in 1983.

Why they chose this property

Our parents built a cabin for guests and family to stay in when they visited. After they passed away, we decided to rent the cabin out 5 months out of the year. We haven enjoyed vacationing there for many years and would like to share it with others.
