Awesome place

Everything was as advertised. Kitchen is well stocked and the place was clean. The winery is very nice and it was fun talking with the owners and hearing the history of the place. We had a blast hanging around the campfire at night. Definitely would stay here again.

Great Cabin

What a great house and property. Located near Galena, Mississippi River and a various state parks/trails. The house was perfect, clean, had everything needed for family of 5. Had dinner and a tasting at the main winery bldg on property. Property management/owners were accessible the entire stay and were very helpful. Tons of property to explore, fishing/spending time on lake, s’mores over the fire pit at night, fall colors everywhere. Entire family really enjoyed the long weekend on this property.

Cozy Getaway!

We had a lovely weekend away at this cozy cabin in the valley. Kyle was a gracious host, ensuring smooth check in and check out. The house was stocked with everything we could have needed - plenty of towels, kitchen was stocked, and the beds and linens were all comfortable. The bunk room in the basement fit all 6 kids easily and the adults each had their own room. The house is about 20 minutes from Chestnut Mountain, making for a super fun and safe skiing/boarding weekend away overall! If heading there in the winter, do ensure you have a 4WD vehicle as the drive is very steep and can be slippery. With 4WD, was not a problem, and Kyle was sure to warn us of this before we booked.

AMAZING Views!

My family and I (group of 9) and our fur babies recently stayed here for 4 days/3 nights. The location is breath taking! You see nature at its best! The cabin was clean, and very cute! A tad bit small for my group (we have 3 tall, fit young adults, too big for bunks) but it would be ideal for smaller groups. It is stocked with plenty of dishes and they start you off with the rest so you'll need to bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, condiments, etc. The water/sandy area are very nice! We brought an oversized float and spent a lot of time in it on the water! which worked for us because there are 3 portable lounge chairs you can use and we would have needed more. I would also recommend having seating by the fire pit! We went up to the winery (sits at the top from the cabin) and tasted some delicious wine! Highly recommend you bring an all wheel drive vehicle, we had one that wasn't and it was rough getting out and going up that very steep hill! Overall, great experience!

Cute Spot but Bed Bug Massacre and Zero Accountability

The property looks just like the photos. Great porch with gorgeous views of the little lake. Descent swimming. It is a murky near the shore but clearer off the other side of the floating dock. The lake is fairly small (the wide-angle photo captures its entirety), so, unless you're fishing, it will only take a minute or two to canoe or kayak around the perimeter. (The canoe oars were broken during our visit, and the kayaks cost extra.) It is a peaceful and secluded setting but the ambience is undermined by the loud music from the Vineyard Estate. My wife and I visited for a weekend escape and largely enjoyed our time except we were absolutely massacred by bed bugs. The bites take a little while to manifest, so we did not know the cause of the itchiness until welts started appearing when we were on our way home. We tried to raise discreetly with the owners, and they hit us with the trifecta of how dare you undermine small business owners, why didn't you come to the house and show us in person, and you were obviously attacked by gnats. They then pushed us to VRBO and cut off communication. As mid-westerners, we are quite familiar with mosquitos and gnats. I had bites in places that were well-covered with clothing, and the pattern--clusters and zig-zagged lines--were the mark of bed bugs. The scars are only fading now, close to three weeks later. I am sure they will have the place properly cleaned, but their response and lack of accountability was disappointing.

Kyle was an extremely welcoming host to my family and I. The property is gorgeous and the seclusion makes the experience very peaceful. My young children had the absolute time of their lives just playing in the lake, walking the property and seeing the wildlife. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be going back again in the future. Bonus- the fishing was excellent!

Kyle was very prompt with answering any questions I had. The cabin was very cozy, offered many extra amenities that most VRBO’s I have stayed at did not. If you’re looking for a secluded getaway, this is it! Our group was a tad disappointed that we were not able to partake in some wine tasting while during our stay, but we would love to revisit! We hope that we can book next year!! Thank you Rocky Waters Winery for everything!

Beautiful Gem Outside of Galena!

This property in Hanover was absolutely stunning. From the charm of the wooden cabin to the spaciousness of three bathrooms and three bedrooms, along with such a clean, private lake, this was a fantastic find. Kyle was an incredible host, with lightning-fast responses and assistance, a personal knowledge of the wines made on the property, and just a very earnest and relatable approach to hosting. Galena was only a 20 minute drive, and Woodbine Bend Golf Course was also beautiful and in close proximity. Bonus points for all the different types of fish in the lake! We would definitely love to stay here again!

Great stay with great weather

The property IS GORGEOUS. A lot of wildlife. The cabin is great. It has a lot of steep steps and hills. The place is great if the weather is great. We would have felt pretty cramped if the weather kept us inside - though, I guess we'd have spent more time at the winery. (Only open until 4 or 5pm) The wifi does not reach the beach, no cell service there. The TV in the family area is very old. The beach could use another load of sand, but we were there late in the season. (August) *IF YOU DRIVE A CAR, YOU MAY NOT GO BACK UP THE DRIVE TO THE CABIN. You need 4 wheel drive. There was no mention of the steep, curvy, rutted, gravel trail to the house. Our Mazda 5 (not a tough car). Was stuck several times and smoking and full of rocks by the time we got back out of there at checkout. We would still be there if we hadn't had 3 dry days. Overall, a great stay. House has everything else you need and oozes charm. You just need good knees and a SUV with some go!
