Spring Break

This was our third time coming down to St Augustine for our boys’ school spring break. We love Vilano Beach and this house was the perfect location to access the inter-coastal and ocean-side beaches. We plan to come back!

Clean house very close to the beach

The house was very neat and tidy and far enough from the beach where you do not get sand in the house, but close enough to carry your beach gear. My only complaint is the damage deposit is non refundable, whether there was damage or not.

Great Stay

Location location location! Great ocean views great family and dog friendly stay. Steps to beach however multiple stairs interior and exterior, worked well for us. Would love to return!

Quiet, relaxing stay

House was exactly as described, in a quieter area of St. Augustine, perfect for a relaxing family vacation, public beach access is walking distance of the house, however you can take your 4x4 on the beach for a small daily fee

Beach Birthday

It was a family vacation for Dad’s 60th birthday. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again. A couple suggestions would be to clearly post trash day pick up and to upgrade the bed linens. It is a beautiful beach house and worth the stay.

Great location, nice home but very dirty.

The house is located in a great neighborhood near the beach downtown St Augustine Publix and several good restaurants. The beach near by was enjoyable and very relaxing. The house itself was nice with an outdoor shower great water views and cool sea breezes from two large sun decks. However, when we arrived, it was obvious to us that the house had not been cleaned. Probably the dirtiest rental I have ever stayed in. House keeping is not doing it’s job. In addition, the mattresses were old and uncomfortable.

Great location!

Great location. Loved having a few great places to eat nearby along with a grocery. Short walk to the beach. Great views off the back patio. Watched the ships go out in the morning, and in each evening. Lots of stairs, but the open space on the 3rd level is worth the climbing. Shower pressure could be better. Water smells a bit. Place was clean overall, but the floors on the 3rd level did not appear as if they were cleaned (especially when I started moving furniture looking for lost toys). A/C, dishwasher, washer/dryer all work well. 10min drive to the historic center, and 15-20min to the outlets and I-95. We will likely rent again if we return to St. Augustine.

Beautiful views...bad smells

This property definitely would have received 5 stars. The reason it didn’t was not really their fault but the well water!!!! The surfer smell was so awful. Taking a shower I had to hold my nose and it turned all my silver jewelry brown. I just can’t handle the sulfer smell. Also I wish they would consider wary check in. They wouldn’t even let me check in 15 minutes early. That was disappointing

Family vacation

We received notification 2 hours before arrival that the downstairs air conditioning was not working and they would place portable cooling units in place until a/c was fixed on Monday. The temp on the second floor level was 85 degrees. Only one unit was put in the house which was incapable of cooking any of the bedrooms. We were told we could receive a refund if we found another rental. There were obviously no homes available with a days notice for our family of 8. We suffered thru Saturday afternoon until Monday evening trying to get airflow to provide some comfort until it was repaired. We purchased $75 fans which did not help. Air conditioning businesses advertise service calls 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Z.

Good Times at Porpoise Point

Summary of our overall impression: We enjoyed our stay a great deal. In general, the property turned out fine. The kitchen was adequately equipped and served quite well for feeding -6-10 people. Beach access was relatively convenient and the beaches were fine. Access to stores was also good. However, we do have a couple of suggestions. We don't recall any specific mention that three sets of stairs had to be climbed to get to the very attractive living-kitchen-dining area. Although we were six people in their 70s, we had no trouble negotiating the stairs, but what if we had been people in their 70s with disabilities or even just limited mobility? Someone unable to climb stairs would have been severely challenged. We suggest that some information regarding the adequacy of the property for people with limited mobility would help to avoid any future problems and/or complaints. Another problem was that when anyone sat or lay on the queen and double bed mattresses in two of the bedrooms it sounded like a wrecking crew was loudly at work. The noise was well beyond ordinary creaking and at times disturbed the sleep of the occupants. Those mattresses should be replaced. Perhaps a manual with a few more details about where things are in the house would also be helpful. And finally, there really should be an ordinary broom in a house at the beach. We had to haul out the vacuum cleaner to clean up the sand that inevitably got tracked in. A simple broom would have made that daily task much easier.

Great low key location!

Great, low key location that was a nice little walk to the beach that in addition had a great beach and ocean view from the balcony. House was perfect for all 8 of us. 5 adults and 3 high school age teenagers. Close walk/5 minute drive to the town center area that had a Publix and a great pizza place. About a 10 minute drive into downtown St Augustine. Will absolutely plan on visiting again!

We absolutely loved the house and location to the beach. With the kitchen and living room being on the top floor this made the views just perfect. All meals, morning coffee and afternoon toddies had the back drop of the beach-just what we wanted. Thank you for having us!

Beautiful View and Location!

We had a fantastic trip and the location of the house was a big reason why! The view is beautiful, we were within walking distance to the point area with a beautiful lagoon and sand bar. The Atlantic Ocean beach was just around the corner. We had a little trouble getting into the house, code didn’t work, but the office was able to get us a new code quickly. The house has basic kitchen supplies and the bed linens could use an upgrade, they felt like paper. Overall, we were VERY pleased with our house and the location on quaint Vilano Beach was very close to historic downtown. We would stay here again!

Vilano Beach

Good property. On the south side of the seawall and will be a 10 min walk to Vilano Beach proper. Furniture and beds could use a refresh. Scissors in the kitchen would be helpful if you cook. I’d rent directly from Vtrips for future to avoid multiple booking fees.

Great House

We really enjoyed our stay. This place was perfect for our big family. The outdoor shower was nice and we were just a short walk from the beach. The views from the deck and living area were nice too. The upper floor is very spacious and the kitchen was nice and big. You will get exercise going up and down the stairs but for us it wasn’t a problem. We would definitely come back
