We enjoyed our stay at Muriel's immensely. The house is beautiful, spacious, equipped with all modern conveniences but still preserving the marvelous charmed of the 13th century building. The central location makes getting around easy, and the l ability to walk almost everywhere is wonderful. Muriel was very helpful during our stay and very responsive when my wife had an illness that necessitated medical care. We ended up staying twice as long as planned in spite of the extra cost and we highly recommend Muriel's beautiful house !
Great holiday in a cosy and beautiful, well-kept and well-equipped home. The village is lovely and the area full of beauty at every turn, and the owner and manager were equallly a pleasure. Thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay at St Martin de Castillon. This is a characterful, historic, village house which has clearly been treasured it's owners and is well furnished and very well equiped (the opposite of a characterless holiday let). The house itself is extensive, with a large living area and even it's own cellars! We enjoyed using the terrace for our meals and it's view. The third bedroom gives access to the terrace, so feels more like a living space with a sofabed, but this worked well for us and, being on a seperate floor, had sufficient privacy from other spaces in the house. The village is attractive, but not over-touristed, and has a good village shop which caters for most everyday needs and a popular cafe bar. We enjoyed the whole area of the east Luberon which has beautiful landscape and villages, but without the larger numbers of tourists further west in the region. Communication with Pierre Stefan was excellent. We wish we had booked for a week or more rather than the three nights we stayed.
We had a great time in Saint Martin de Castillon. The house was really nice and clean. The terrace view is amazing and the location was perfect for exploring the region. Check in and check out was simple. We really enjoyed our time here!
This house is a treat - spacious, very personal decor, everything working well, kitchen well equipped, fabulous mountain view from the top floor terrace, friendly and helpful neighbours. Village itself lovely, very laid back and quiet and a great location for trips into the surrounding area.
Thank you for a lovely week in the Luberon - the house is exactly as the photos suggest. Beautiful interiors. It was comfortable with lots of ways to keep warm given how early in the year this was. It was a lovely surprise to find that the village still has a bar, epicerie and patisserie. It was great fun exploring local villages and enjoying the views of the beautiful Luberon. We’d love to return Thank you Pierre-Stefan (and Nadine) for your welcome and help. We’d also add that we didn’t visit any wineries (vineyards) so can’t score that aspect of the review.
We were looking for a hilltop Luberon village in which to celebrate a special birthday and we were not disappointed with Pierre's Gite in St Martin de Castillon. The Gite is situated in the heart of St Martin, within easy 2 minute walking distance from a carpark. The Gite is over 3-4 levels with each area revealing an eclectic range of furnishing, sculptures and art works in what is obviously a well loved and respected family home. All of the rooms were excellent with well appointed bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge, but the rooftop terrace provided an amazing place to sit, drink, eat and simply gaze out over the beautiful valley vista. There is a well stocked local store with everything you would need, and there are major supermarkets in Apt, a 20 minute drive away. The local bar serves great beer and wines and has pizzas available a few nights a week. It's a great place to sit drink and fraternise with the locals. The town itself is fascinating to walk through but it also offers access to the vast number of other local hilltop villages. You would be hard pressed to visit them all! The only down side was that the instructions given to us by BookaBatch were out of date and did not tell us how to access the Gite. However, a quick phone call to Pierre had everything sorted very quickly. This problem was not Pierre's fault, but it might pay to check the date stamp on the access instructions!

Everything We Hoped For
We loved our stay here! It came to feel like home so quickly. The photos accurately show the beauty of the the building and rooms, and we took full advantage of the rooftop for coffee in the early morning and wine in the evening. Very relaxing.
We didn't lack for anything while here. The caretaker gave us a nice tour and checked on us regularly to make sure all was good.
I'd love to have the opportunity to stay here again.
The house was just great - quirky and full of character. It’s on 3 levels (four if you count the basement) and the top floor has a roomy balcon where you have swifts for company and glorious views over the Grand Luberon. There’s a decent grocery store in the village and a very pleasant cafe/bar. Can highly recommend both house and village but beware the church bells which chime on the hour & half-hour, day and night.
This property is fully equipped and has plenty of space. The location of the property means it remains cool even on hot days. The village has plenty of character and yet is not too busy. The local bar is very welcoming and the village shop well supplied with fresh bread and other essentials. Several other beautiful villages are a short drive away. The town of Apt is worth a visit too. There is plenty of hiking close by, some from the village and some in the Luberon, which can be seen in the marvellous view from the roof terrace of the property. The host Christophe stayed in good touch with us and was very happy to offer advice. We had a fabulous holiday, thank you!

The Luberon at it's Best!
St. Martin is a small village in the Luberon, not yet overrun with Tourists. The house is very charming with many accents and great amenities. Everything worked well with the owner as well as caretaker being more than accommodating. All rooms were well equipped and left nothing missing. Large living room, multiple bedrooms, separate dining room and a good kitchen.
The house can easily be a candidate for one of your best vacations ever. It was for us.
Merci Christophe et Mr. Montagnier!

Perfect Provence
This beautiful house in a wonderfully picturesque Provencal hillside town was such a treat! We are a family of five and had the best town. St Martin is everything you imagine of the Luberon...impossibly quaint and picturesque. There is a bar/restaurant - Bar de la Fontaine and a well stocked tabac. The village pool is a great spot to hang out with locals and other tourists (only downside is it closes at 6pm).
The house itself is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The rooms are large, beds are great, kitchen is well stocked. The views from the rooftop terrace are superb and a great spot to pitch up and enjoy a long lunch or dinner as the light fades over the Luberon.
While St Martin is a little removed from the usual haunts such as Menerbes/Bonnieux/Gordes, they are all within an easy 30 minute drive, it also encourages you to visit other wonderful spots that you may not otherwise venture to like Banon, Simiane and St Saturnin.
We couldn't recommend Pierre Stefan's beautiful home or St Martin more highly. Beautiful!
