I would definitely stay again. This house is great for couples. Your close to downtown Johnson City and across from a winery. If your planning a motorcycle trip this is a great area to ride Close to scenic routes. Very clean nice house
This was a cute house in the perfect location in Johnson City. Very convenient to downtown and just a short drive from Fredericksburg. It was comfortable with modern appliances and plenty of amenities. The host was super responsive and very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Walking distance to downtown and LBJ Boyhood home museum. Less than 10 minutes to race site.Beautiful decor and everything else you need, Hope to return someday.
My husband and I took a weekend getaway trip to Johnson City really enjoyed our stay! The place is cute and clean and within walking distance to a winery, restaurants, shops, etc.
Wonderful weekend stay it was perfect location for everything we wanted to see and do. Property owner had everything ready as she said it would be. The only con to the stay was you can hear the road noise at night because it is so close to main road.
We could walk everywhere for downtown. Cute little house. Pretty decor. Pretty garden in the backyard. It would have helped to have directions on how to use the AC- but luckily, it wasn’t a hot weekend.
Enjoyed our stay. It was walkable to restaurants in johnson city. Close to pedernales falls state park and about 30 min to fredericksburg. Loved the kitchen stove.
Had a great time. The door was a little tricky. You might want to give door directions in a message before the people arrive. I was so excited you had my favorite coffee stocked.
Everything about this cottage was adorable, comfortable, and perfect for a mother/daughter weekend to attend a women’s retreat and tour wineries. We will definitely be back next year. ♥️🏡

Cute little cottage, houses on either side, not so great.
The house/cottage was exceptionally clean! The decor was perfect! So tasteful and just the right touches to make our stay beyond enjoyable! The location couldn’t be better for walking around downtown. I very rarely give 5 stars. And I mean rarely. I plan on returning. Definitely! Melicia is a very engaged owner which is a must for me.
My friend and I used this home as our "base" for our hiking trip. Great location in relation to Pedernales State Park and Hamilton Pool Preserve and has great local restaurants close by. This home was perfect for our needs.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. We walked all over Johnson City and saw the beautiful Christmas lights and enjoyed the hospitality of the townspeople. We were also able to enjoy the area going to Fredericksburg was an easy drive. The only downside was no wifi, but it is not a huge big deal to us.
Thank you for a lovely stay!
House was quaint and neighborhood was quiet. Loved the winery across the street. Had a great time checking out wineries and restaurants outside f Fredericksburg.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Our reservation was after the "Blizzard of '21" and the property manager did a FANTASTIC job of communicating with us and setting us at ease about our stay. The property is close enough to attractions, wineries, cider house, and food that we never felt rushed in our moving around. We found the house to be well stocked and met all of our needs for a relaxing anniversary weekend away. Would both highly recommend and love to stay here again in the future!
What we wanted was a place off beaten path but close enough to the local sites that we planned to visit. Something charming, comfortable and most of all, cozy. We were coming off the 2021 Ice Storm so we didn't know if the property would be ready, but owner kept us totally informed at every turn. We encountered a small mechanical issue but arrived at a resolution with good communication. I cant wait to schedule a longer stay in the near future and strongly recommend for a couple looking to get away from the fast pace of the city.
This was our second time at the Pickett House. The cottage is well annointed, spotless, comfortable, and within walking distance of the square and restaurants. I highly recommend this property.

About the host

My husband and I live in San Antonio with our two children. I am a native Texan growing up in Victoria and my husband is from Mount Joy, Penn.
Why they chose this property
We bought this B & B from my Aunt and Uncle. They were using it as a bed and breakfast and they bought it when it was called Caroline's B & B.
What makes this property unique
What we love about this home is that it makes you want to kick back and relax. The town has all that you need but it offers you the luxury of traveling to other towns and cities in one day and back.
