I know why this property has great reviews. Great place with everything you need and very clean. James went above and beyond taking care of us. We’ve already made another reservation
The Absolute Repose - Secluded Cottage was everything it claimed to be. Quiet, beautiful, relaxing, and an overall wonderful place to stay. The views were amazing and the birds singing was a joy. We saw deer, turkeys, horses, and even an orange cat came to visit. We are definitely going to stay here again. James was communicative and even had our names on the board welcoming us. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
This was our second time staying at this beautiful place! The host is always friendly and very accommodating. The house is well maintained and clean, along with the property. Quiet and peaceful. It's centrally located and anything you want to do is just a short drive. Thank you again for a very pleasant stay! We will be back again soon.
Highly recommend this property. Great tiny house with amazing views. Only about 2 miles from Harrison brothers and Albert ice house. Super clean, little touches made things especially nice.
This place is hands down my favorite home to stay in when visiting the hill country. Its got views, privacy, wildlife, and all the comforts of home (kitchen, big 2 person shower, propane pit, etc).
Til next time!
My husband and I enjoyed a weekend away in the country. It was so nice to relax, enjoy a few wineries and restaurants in the area. We also cooked and enjoyed quiet evenings at Absolute Repose. James (host) did a great job communicating before and during our trip. Also, k-cups, beverages, and breakfast items were an added plus! Looking forward to visiting again soon!
This little cabin was perfect for just the two of us. Incredible starry nights on the patio lounging by the gas fire pit. We saw deer on the property and were close enough to enjoy the LBJ State park for the solar eclipse. The owner even left us solar eclipse glasses for viewing. How incredible is that! We would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I came here for the first time over fathers day weekend. We like secluded places where we can relax in peace on a nice patio. This place definitely fit the bill. The place was clean and well kept. The patio and views were great. There was a nice breeze in the evening to make it very relaxing. We will be back for sure.
This is our second trip to Absolute Repose! This cottage is a gem located exactly where we love to be in the Texas Wine Country. Easy access to Fredericksburg, Hye, Johnson City, Blanco, Luckenbach makes our trips so effortless! Everything we need including Hill Country views & amazing sunrises. The only hard decision is whether to eat out nearby or stay home & enjoy the expansive outdoor deck by the fire!
This was our second stay at this property, and this experience was just as wonderful as the first. James is an accommodating and responsive host. The location of the home overlooks a beautiful, serene pasture.
The inside is spotless and everything is in such great condition. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen is well-appointed. The large deck/patio is a great place to relax and hang out. Thanks, James, for giving us a great place to stay!!
This house is everything and more that you see in the photos. Every amenity for a first-class, carefree stay was provided by the owners. This place is meticulously well kept! The location is incredibly convenient to the most popular wineries and laid-back hangouts in the area. The back deck provides incredible views of the hill country as well as millions of stars at night. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this Absoute Repose.
The stay at this property was great. The mornings were amazing, awesome sunrises every morning.
Great stay, very comfortable amenities. Couldn't ask for anything more, everything you would ever need is provided. Great view every morning along with sunrise, you wish you had more time. Best part was you weren't surrounded by everyone, what your Hill Country stay should be like. Nothing against the property, improvements could be maybe a half glass partition to stop some of the excess water from splashing out of the shower to prevent any damage. Water pressure was great though. Great place to stay!
Honestly, this is the best VRBO we have stayed in. Everything was just as described. There are a few other structures on the property that the pictures did not show, but far away enough that we were not bothered or even noticed other than on the drive in. The house itself is perfect and the host thought of everything. Out the country, but off of the highway between Fredericksburg and Johnson City. A perfect location on the Texas Wine Country Trail!! We will definitely be back!
At first I was skeptical about the location but it turned out to be 10 out of a 10. It ’s pretty secluded, lots of wildlife and open skies. The cabin was incredibly clean and well lit. The hosts made the place feel cosy. They have some board games and a Bluetooth speaker. All linens were clean as were the surfaces. We will be returning with our kids next time!
This place is amazing. The view is incredible. I love how it’s tucked away from everything. Your neighbors aren’t right on top of you like the city. Mr James is very nice and very helpful with the recommendations. More to the location, this place is located in the middle of so many vineyards and distilleries. We will definitely be coming back.
We were back for a second visit and it didn't disappoint! The cabin is just as advertised and is clean, well organized, and situated on an amazing property with a beautiful view of the countryside. The best thing about it is you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but you are actually surrounded by lots of activities including the 290 wineries and Fredericksburg, Johnson City and Blanco, and Luckenbach. But our favorite activity is simply sitting on the deck and enjoying the peace and serenity. We'll be back!
Perfect for a couples getaway. The host does a wonderful job providing a few toiletries and refrigerator items, as well as towels and linens. The only things I brought, and needed to bring, were my own groceries. Quiet location out in the middle of nowhere, but also close enough to Highway 290 for anything you want to do or get. We loved our stay and would highly recommend others to experience the same.
James was a great host and the property was just as expected. Secluded, quiet, and thoughtful details such as a nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of extras in toiletries. We even left one item and James handled getting it back to us in such a courteous manner! We will be back!
