Note: If your dates are not available on our calendar for "The Janie", check-out her sister rentals next door; "The Clara", (listing #675595), "The Stella' (listing #971160), or inquire about our other vacation rentals in historic downtown Savannah.

We require a 3-night minimum on weekends most months of the year, so please inquire prior to booking for a quote.

Downstairs: Enjoy the spacious floor plan with a modern, fully equipped kitchen that is open to the breakfast room with a table that seats 6; expansive double parlor with living room, flat screen TV and DVD player and formal dining room that seats an additional 6. One of the two vintage-styled bathroom with clawfoot tub is located downstairs.

Upstairs: Enjoy the comfort of 4 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, and a separate dressing/laundry room all upstairs.

When renting this home, you will have 2 reserved spaces directly behind the house for off-street, care-free parking! Additional vehicles can park free on the street.

Sleeping arrangements consist of 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor (a King, a Queen, a large bedroom with 2 Full Size Beds, and the 'trunk room' with a Full bed). There is a Twin Rollaway bed in the closet downstairs which can be placed in any room. There is one full bathroom upstairs (with original clawfoot tub!) by the dressing/laundry room and one full (near identical) bathroom downstairs by the kitchen.

Need more space? 'The Janie' has two 'sister' homes next door, 'The Clara' (listing #675595) and 'The Stella' (listing #971160). A group of 20, well-behaved guests could book both houses and stay side by side. 'The Janie' has hosted hundreds of guests including family reunions, girl's getaway weekends, bachelorette, wedding parties, Girl Scouts, graduation, SCAD weekends, and more. Please inquire if you have any questions!

We love our guests and want them to have a fabulous time. It is important to note that in Downtown Savannah the homes are very close together and full time residents do live next to the vacation rental homes. In order to respect your neighbors we ask for 'quiet hours' after 10pm. This simply means turn down your music and refrain from shouting, congregating outdoors, etc. Remember when you are on the porches or dropped off by taxi late night you can be heard very well by the surrounding residents. Thank you for your respect and understanding. Drunken, loud, or obnoxious behavior simple will not be tolerated.

This home had great Victorian charm! It was exceptionally clean and very well taken care of. We were able to walk to Forsyth Park. It is on a busy street, and you can hear night traffic, but that is typical in a city setting.

The Janie is wonderful

This Victorian home was perfect for 6 girlfriends to reunite. Great space in living areas and the MOST comfortable beds. Off street parking is easy. History was about a mile away. We really hope to return!!

Why they chose this property

This beautiful historic home, built in 1891 and nicknamed 'The Janie' for Jane Strous, is one of four majestic Victorian townhomes along Margaret Strous Row in the historic Victorian District. Just a mile walk to the River Front and a few short blocks to the Landmark Historic District, a walker's paradise and mecca for history buffs. The ornate architecture of historic Savannah homes is breathtaking. 'The Janie' maintains so many of her original architectural details that we were in love at first sight. This home is a great example of a classic Savannah Victorian row house convenient to all that Historic Downtown has to offer!

What makes this property unique

The size of this house will allow larger parties to comfortably vacation together and the location allows you to walk to the grocery store (Kroger or Brighter Day) as well as restaurants and tourist attractions. The designated free parking is highly sought after as well.
