About this property
Casa Luna ~ Charming Vintage Cabin Retreat on the River, Spa, Dog Friendly!
Enjoy the romance of Casa Luna, a vintage riverfront cabin on the Russian River. This home features the charm of the 1940s era in which it was built, but has the comfort of modern appliances. Casa Luna offers hardwood floors, a high wood-beam ceiling, brick fireplace, the warmth of old knotty pine paneled walls and a country kitchen with a view of the river.
Enjoy the wonderfully expansive and private deck that wraps around two sides of the house and overlooks your own private meadow sloping down to the river. Wildflowers bloom late into the summer here. Relax in the hot tub and romantic outdoor shower surrounded by the privacy of majestic redwoods and the fragrance of bay trees. Stroll down the path through the meadow to the water's edge and enjoy a private floating river dock and canoe and paddleboat. (Available mid-June through mid-September.)
Casa Luna's amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with 5 burner gas range and convection oven, new dishwasher, recently remodeled Italian tile bathroom, bed and bath linens, romantic hot water outdoor shower surrounded by redwoods and adjacent to a large hot tub, comfortable deck lounge furniture and gas barbecue, a clothes washer, dryer and safe off-road parking. The house is conveniently located minutes from the towns of Guerneville, Rio Nido and Duncan Mills. All three towns offer shopping, restaurants, movies, public river beaches, as well as canoe and kayak rentals. Northwood Golf Course and Pee Wee Golf are only a few minutes away. The Pacific Ocean and stunning Sonoma Coast are a lovely 20 minute drive away.
Casa Luna is a non-smoking house and is dog friendly. The fully-fenced deck provides lots of space for a dog to soak up the sun and lounge. Your well-behaved mature dog is most welcome! Casa Luna features a keyless entry system, meaning you will have the convenience of an express check-in directly at the home!

About the host
Hosted by Russian River Vacation Homes
We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.
Our Story:
In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.
Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.
We strive to make each and every stay the best one ever. If you have any questions or concerns about reserving or staying with us, please don't hesitate to contact us! We are here to help.

Why they chose this property
Guerneville is the largest town on the Russian River, and has a variety of excellent restaurants and shopping. There are many wineries within 15-20 minutes. Guerneville is also home to the amazing Armstrong Woods, and it's just a quick drive out to the coast! Guerneville is a fun and free spirited town that makes for a great getaway!
Neeley Road (the road Casa Luna is located on) is the main residential road on this side of the river. Neeley Road roughly follows down river and Drake Road follows up river. On the opposite side, River Road generally parallels the Russian River (and former rail line) to the coast. This residential section of Guerneville is often referred to as Neeley for the road, named for the Neeley family – many generations of whom have lived and still live in Guerneville. The neighborhood also once hosted many resorts and campgrounds. A few still remain, but most have separated into individual homes, vacation homes and groups of small cabins.

What makes this property unique
From the Owners:
As children and teenagers, both of us – before we knew each other - enjoyed spending summer days on the Russian River. Later, as a couple, we often canoed the river and reminisced about our happy memories of being kids on the river and enjoyed looking at all the riverside homes we drifted by wishing we owned one.
On one such trip, we viewed a few homes for sale – just for fun. We saw Casa Luna that day and although we couldn’t get into the house, we fell in love with the beautiful deck surrounded by majestic redwood trees and the lovely green meadow meandering down to the river’s edge. Before I knew it, we made an offer and I could only say in shock – “Did we just buy a house?!?” We have never regretted it.
At the time, the house was called Anna Villa and was managed by the same company – Russian River Vacation Homes. We renamed it Casa Luna (Moon House) for a beautiful, romantic home we enjoyed in Zihuatanejo, Mexico of the same name.
We’ve loved bringing our dogs and friends here ever since.
