Loved staying here. Check in was easy and the whole vibe is great. Lordues was great and easy to work with. Cleaning ladies fantastic. We will be coming back.
We brought our girls down for a trip of a lifetime to stay in a houseboat and swim with the dolphins. This location is great for kids and families of big kids or teens. They loved the pool and we loved the covered picnic tables, beach ambiance and vibe.
This houseboat was just what we were looking for in the keys. Room for two of us, very clean and the staff was helpful. We spent lots of time on the “porch” in the mornings and evenings.
Our stay was great! It was chilly the first night but thankfully there was a small heater on the boat we were able to use. Mike and Ace were great upon arrival and for anything that we needed! Would definitely recommend staying here again and we will be back!! It was our first trip to the Keys and we loved staying on a houseboat. The marina was quiet and the people were friendly!
Enjoyed our Memorial Day getaway aboard the Sand Dollar! Mike and the rest of the staff at Mangrove Marina were extremely helpful. Great place to relax. We enjoyed the simplicity of stepping off the houseboat onto our paddle boards. Beautiful sunsets. Will return!
We enjoyed our Labor Day weekend getaway. Fun and different place off the beaten path to stay. Our 8 y.o. son loved the houseboat, marina and loft sleeping area. Pool was chilled and very refreshing after a day out in the sun. Showers have seen better days and could use updating. Overall very good and would go again.
My husband and I had an amazing time staying in the Sand Dollar for the first leg of our honeymoon trip to The Keys. It was such a unique experience and we already can't wait to come back. It was very relaxing and the perfect location nestled between Key Largo and Islamorada. We loved that we could walk across the street for coffee and restaurants and things to do were only 10-15 minutes away in each direction. Everyone we interacted with at the marina - staff, other houseboat guests, and residents - were very friendly! Don't pass up this fun experience.

Great Keys Escape
This was a great way to spend some time on the water in the Keys. The houseboat decor was very up-to-date (unlike other houseboats we have rented in other locations by other vendors). Heidi was fantastic and responded to our every need. The location was great as we were able to walk across US 1 to a park for the dog. We had a car but if not, there are several options for food nearby. I've only given 4 stars because the bed was a little too hard for me and as a result I did not sleep more than 6 hours each night. Next time I'll bring my air mattress. Highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for some place to stay and make new friends.

Unique and fun stay!
We stumbled upon this houseboat in our search for a weekend escape in the Keys. What a great place to spend a couple of nights! The boat was just as described and the marina is an interesting locale. Heidi was a great host – she even let us come in a night earlier than planned, at the last minute, when we needed to escape a terrible week of work drama. She met us at the boat and made sure we were settled in and even sat by the fire that night with us and the other houseboat renters. There’s a very nice bath house, you can bring your own boat (we were able to tie ours up right next to our rental) and we even had a visit from a giant and friendly manatee who enjoyed drinking from the fresh water hose on the dock. The boat was decorated very comfortably and our only recommendation would be to have some pots/pans for cooking (yes, we’re the weird travelers who actually enjoy cooking up our catch or other specialties while on vacation – but the grills outside sufficed to get us through). Our dog Scally loved the experience, too. I’d highly recommend staying here and we’ll definitely be back!

Absolute GEM!
My friend and I planned a last minute trip to Tavernier for Memorial Day Weekend. Every hotel in Islamorada was booked, which is where we wanted to stay. After calling about 30 hotels I stumbled upon VRBO and Mariela was an absolute sweetheart and on top of everything and super accomodating. It was definitely meant to be! This house boat was so cute/spacious and there were no noisy obnoxious neighbors to worry about! We had a blast and in comparison to the shoebox hotels our friends were staying in, we definitely hit the jackpot. Everything was clean, there were towels, shampoo, conditioner and mini soap bottles as well as a TV and AC. We felt right at home and we loved the little tiki bar. I felt so safe and I would absolutely recommend this house boat and stay again! Also, I left one of my favorite hats and they let me know it was in lost and found. Great deal for what you get!

Great vacation
My wife and I just spent 4 days at the Conch Shell Aqua Lodge houseboat and had a great time.
The houseboat was extremely well maintained as was the marina .
The houseboats are in Boatman's Mangrove Marina.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The house cleaning staff made daily visits to offer to clean the houseboat and asked if we needed anything. I was not expecting that.
Great sunsets right from the marina and even better if you went just outside the harbor.
I am a boater and could not have asked for more. They included dockage for my boat, storage for my trailer, a ramp to launch and retrieve the boat, and ice for the coolers.
The marina is in a well protected harbor and just about a minute at idle speed to get out to Florida Bay.
The location of the Mangrove Marina was great, it was just a few minutes to Tavernier Creek and out to the ocean.
Highly recommended for boaters.

Not what I expected.
Staff was not helpful. They were not rude, but not helpful. My husband and I had traveled a long way and were looking forward to a few days of ease and comfort. My husband is disabled and unable to help with heavy lifting. I carried all of our baggage to and from parking lot. No assist was offered. Lifting the bags on to the houseboat was difficult. . There wasn't laundry soap. There was tiny bit of coffee. No one offered fresh towels or coffee or told us where we might get breakfast or dinner. Beds are only queen size so I slept on hideabed. The most uncomfortable contraption ever built for sleeping! Found a few bugs also so I won't be back. The bar next door was great!
House boat was clean and had everything we needed for a short girls getaway. Great location, close to grocery store and fun activities. Loft mattresses weren't the most comfortable but ok for the kids.
It was nice getting to experience what living on a boat in a marina would be like. Getting to meet people from all over the world living on their boats and the marina bar is a great place to do that! Live music and an awesome bartender made it our nightly hang out
We had a great time staying in the marina. Everyone was very nice. The facilities were clean and within easy walking distance. Good restaurants and things to do within short driving distance It was less than a 2-hour drive for a day in Key West. One thing to make sure of is to call the marina to double check on your reservation. VRBO site had us booked and paid, but it didn't go through to the marina until after we checked in.
I stayed here with my spouse and parents and we had such a great time! Everything was well taken care of and the motion of the water was lovely! I ended up sleeping in one of the beds in the loft and was very comfortable. The first night we arrived it was rainy and I was worried it would feel cramp inside with 4 adults but it was great! Would definitely stay again!
Lots of fun , different then just staying in a motel room, super staff, super clean, looking forward to staying there again.
