About this property

Miles of beach outside your door- Amazing Oceanfront Home!

Experience instant relaxation when setting foot into this beautiful vintage beachfront house with 180 degree views of the Oregon coastline. The mid century design is an open-plan with the living room, dining room, and kitchen all comprising one great room with a wall of windows looking out over sand dunes and partial views of the crashing surf. Great deck facing the beach and front sand "yard" with fire pit and play area for kids and adults.

Our house is a vintage 1960s house (read: not a new build). It is remodeled, but definitely still has "vintage charm". If this appeals to you, great! If not, there are lots of new modern rentals available in Manzanita.

The kitchen is fully equipped for group cooking, and the dining area seats 12 (8 at a table, 4 more at a bar height counter). The house sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, pair of Twins, Bunk Room with 2 sets of bunk beds with twin mattresses).

Other amenities include: wood burning fireplace, wifi, a TV cart (with Netflix, and Apple TV – no cable), a game room with ping pong table, a washer/dryer, high chair, portable crib ('Pack n' Play'), BOB single stroller (front wheel locks for jogging), 2 adult beach cruiser bikes. Parking for 2 cars max.

In front of the house, a 100 yard path leads through sand dunes to 7 miles of sandy beach. From the house it is a 10 minute walk (3/4 mile) up the beach to the small, friendly town of Manzanita. The area is a natural paradise that includes hiking trails through old growth forests with incredible ocean vistas, miles of bike paths in Nehalem Bay State Park (1/2 mile), surfing at Oswald State Park/Short Sands (10 min drive), fishing in Nehalem River, and crabbing in Nehalem Bay. Golfers will enjoy Manzanita's beautiful and challenging nine hole course (1/3 mile).

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please start two loads before departure (one in washer and one in dryer). Please do not overstuff machines or laundry will need to be re-done.
Garage: Return all items (toys, bikes, chairs, etc...) where you found them and please make sure buckets are not filled with sand.
Recycling: The garbage company doesn't take recycling, and neither will our cleaning company. In order to recycle, we ask that you either take it home and or take it to Manzanita’s recycling station
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Great time on the beach! 1.5 days of sun out of 3 so excellent for this time of year on the Oregon coast. The house fit us perfectly (3 adults), clean spacious and right on the beach. Only thing lacking was skewers for somores (we looked did find maybe we missed them?). Firestarter worked great in the fire pit. Beds very comfortable, everything clean and well organized. Thanks so much!

This was one of the best family friendly houses we have ever stayed in! Fantastic place to stay especially if you have kids (of any age). I loved that that having the TV out was optional. It really made the setting creative and family oriented. Books and board games, bike rides, ping pong and long walks on the beach! My little ones adored the backyard sand area and my husband, mother in law and I loved to be out on the back porch so close to their action. The fire pit was awesome. We are 100% coming back here to stay again. And from a mom’s point of view, and who loves to cook, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you’d need to make a tasty meal. There was even a coal bbqer that we used. Indoor and outdoor table settings available. Highchair for the littlest of them. Even had plastic table ware that was such a mind set at ease for a mom of six! So thank you for such a lovely time! It’s a definite favorite in our books now!

The house was better than the photos! Very comfortable living space with a great fireplace to enjoy on a chilly night. The kitchen stocked with all pans and utensils needed to put together a great meal. All enjoyed with great views out the windows of the dunes.It is a really amazing space with enough space to fit a large family or a few friends. We stayed on a rainy weekend and had a great time, but being able to enjoy the outside area and have a fire in the firepit outside would be a really enjoyable night. Couldn't recommend it more!

House Helped Make for a Wonderful Vacation

The location was wonderful, the two beds in the two principal bedrooms were quite comfortable, the bathrooms and showers were excellent, the house was well stocked, and both the house and its setting were aesthetically quite pleasing.
