In the open area, there is a shower and a garden with a magnificent lemon tree, a peach tree, and a small grapevine pergola, as well as rosemary, basil, mint, and lavender.

Amalia’s pergola is named after Aunt Amalia, who lived here from the 1920s to the 1970s. The house’s origins, however, date back even further and are linked to great-grandmother Pasana, who lived at the turn of the 20th century. The structure reflects the architectural style of past centuries, with houses extending lengthwise from the street to a large inner courtyard—the “ortale”—which provided light and air. The current house is the result of a renovation that sought to preserve traditional features while integrating modern functionality and comfort. Four openings were created in the ceiling of the large living room to allow light and air to enter; through glass-block elements, these reach two central rooms that previously had no windows. The barrel and star-vaulted ceilings have been exposed, and the rainwater collection system has been restored; the collected water is now used to flush the bathrooms and irrigate the garden; the southern sun is harnessed to produce hot water via a solar panel: environmental sustainability and the “circular economy” are second nature here.

Layout of the 4 units

Cesare (approx. 30 sq m, max 5 guests) – 1 single bed and 1 queen-size bed + 1 sofa bed with pull-out bed (total of 2 additional single beds).
