I am a self employed development consultant living in Edinburgh with three boys. We bought the villa in Bedar as a holiday home and have undertaken extensive renovations including installation of all of the external terraces, pool, hot tub, gardens etc. As our children have grown up we don't use the house as often as we did when they were younger and we would like others to enjoy the house as much as we do. It is a most relaxing, beautiful and tranquil place to stay.

We bought the property as a project and we wanted to put our own mark on the site. It has been a labour of love and is ongoing. The house sits in 12 acres of mountainside which over time will be fully restored as an olive grove. The house sits on top of a hillside with vast uninterupted views over mountains, countryside and out to sea. We have created a variety of distinct areas in the house where you can relax, play, eat, drink and chill out. The house lends itself to large groups of friends or large families. Locally there is horse riding , the coast has all sorts of water sports and there are Caves to explore in Sorbas. In addition for kids there is an Aqua Park & Go Karting. Almeria City also boasts great attractions, Arabic baths & fabulous tapas bars in the old town. The famous Mini Hollywood is situated 35 minutes away in Tabernas, a great day out for a family. You can walk into the village of Bedar and a short drive to Lubrin to the tapas bars. There are other great walks in the area directly from the front door and cycling on the perfect road surfaces is becoming increasingly popular with many professional cycle teams using the area for winter training. Alternatively, you can simply stock up with locally produced food and beverages and stay at the property, chilling out , swimming and reading with the fabulous views and peace & quiet.

The house is tranquil with no immediate neighbours. The surrounding countryside is teaming with wildlife and there are no better views in the area. The house is unique being located on a hillside but on its own plateau with 360 degree views. The 13m infinity pool is perfect for swimming and also floating all day long. This is a rustic property in a country location but it is easily within reach of very good local restaurants. There are good markets and the coast is a 40 minute drive.
