About this property

Howittgites, La Métairie d’auge, Ecurie, country cottage, private pool

La Petite Ecurie is a pretty two bedroom stone cottage converted from an old stable building to provide accommodation for 4 people plus baby.
The cottage opens onto a courtyard on one side and has a private garden with terrace on the other. La Petite Ecurie is centrally heated and available for rental all year round- ideal for cosy Autumn/Winter breaks.
Guests have exclusive use of the pool (securely fenced, perfect for children) with garden furniture and sun loungers, which has its own south-facing terrace, overlooking the beautiful countryside. The pool is open from late-May to mid-September and is cleaned daily. Beyond the pool area is an enclosed paddock, ideal for ball games.
Bike hire is available locally and we have a range of garden toys and games for children. Games room with pub pool table and dart board. Perfect surroundings countryside for walking.

This time of year we take our dog to Devon but decided to try France as a lot of the cottages had private pools Lovely area to explore with a dog and a village within a good walk to get fresh bread Not the biggest range of restaurants or supermarkets but adequate and the restaurants we did find were good

Nich, Julie and Trevor were great hosts and our family had a lovely holiday. The gite was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the large grounds were child and dog friendly. Our 7 year old daughter said: "The best part of our stay was relaxing by the pool and swimming in it all day. It was a lot of fun, we packed lots of lego with us but haven't had a chance to play with it because we got carried away by the pool. The large garden with swings, slide and climbing frame was really fun."

Calme et sérénité

Si vous cherchez le calme de la campagne poitevine, c'est définitivement à la Métairie d'Auge que vous devez séjourner. Moineaux, ballets d'hirondelles, rapaces, pour trouer le ciel. Le jardin est superbe, la touche anglaise de ce charmant logis, décoré avec un gout simple et agréable. La piscine à votre seule utilisation se réchauffe vite, quand le soleil décide de faire son apparition. Vous êtes proches des points de visite de la région et ANGLES SUR L'ANGLIN à seulement 30 minutes à pied par les chemins de campagne. Julie et Nic sont définitivement des hôtes charmants qui pensent toujours aux petits détails pour vous réserver un séjour agréable. Bref, nous recommandons vivement !

Tranquillité et plaisirs

La maison est très propre et très bien équipée. Piscine agréable et une belle surprise avec une salle de jeu comprenant billard et cible avec fléchettes à disposition H24. La piscine est privative, un jardin est mis à notre disposition avec jeux pour enfants, salon de jardin, tables d extérieur, barbecue.... un vrai petit paradis où seul le chant des oiseaux se fait entendre. Nich est très gentil et discret mais toutefois present si besoin . N hésitez pas!

Lekker rustig, vrijwel compleet

Op een half uurtje rijden ligt het natuurgebied La Brenne waar je als natuurliefhebber een prima week kunt doorbrengen. Het enige wat we in het huis misten was een kapstok op een logische plaats....en een afzuigkap was misschien ook wel handig geweest. Het weer was nogal fris (1e week mei) dus het zwembad hebben we niet gemist. De elektrische kachels warmden het huis gelukkig heel snel op.

We came to live here at La Metairie d'Auge in 2006. The property was previously a farmhouse and outbuildings parts of which date back to 17th century. We have since renovated the old stables to create La Petite Ecurie and have completely renovated the original farmhouse to make our house (across the courtyard from the cottage).

An ideal location to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, come and relax at any time of the year. Every season has something unique to offer. Whatever the season you can enjoy your own space in the cosy well-appointed cottage, whilst enjoying the amazing wildlife and beautiful countryside.
