About this property
Memorable sunsets from the terraces of the house in the village of Cuglieri
If you are not looking for a house by the sea, if you want a very comfortable and quiet house this is the right choice. The sea with beautiful beaches is within 15 minutes by car. The house is in the ancient town of Cuglieri on the west coast of the island. There is a large terrace and a solarium on the roof with breathtaking views. The country is hospitable and transmits positive energies. The surrounding landscape is amazing, wild, and unpolluted. The geographical position of Cuglieri is favorable for trips to many parts of the island. The house is equipped with all you need; the quality of the linen is excellent, and the cleaning is very strict. The house can be pleasantly inhabited by two to eight people.
The house stands on four floors (ground floor, first floor, second floor, third floor). There are three kitchens, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two small laundry rooms with two washing machines. Along the facade of the house runs a majestic jasmine plant whose flowers emanate scent all around.
The house was built in 1800. For generations it has been inhabited by shepherds. Recently the house has been renovated with great care that respects its origins. There are mosquito nets in all windows. In summer, the indoors are cool and pleasant.
From the third floor you can comfortably go to a terrace and then climb to the solarium with a stunning 360-degree view. The terraces are bathed in sunlight. You will see the sun soaking into the sea. Sunsets are breathtaking. Both terraces dominate the other houses in town. The chasing of the swallows flying in the sky and their circling on the terraces are wonderful. Swallows still nest in Cuglieri! At night when the many lamps in town are turned on, you feel in a fairy tale.
On both terraces there is a lot of greenery because many vases with lush plants are all around. It is great to have your meals outside on the terraces. Indoors, next to the terrace, there is an equipped kitchen. On the terrace there is also a shower corner with hot water.
Most of the streets in town are narrow. In front of the house, you arrive with medium-sized cars. At a short distance from the house (two minutes on foot) there are free spaces for parking cars (spaces are not charged).
The garage of the house is for motorcycles and bicycles only.
In town there are several small shops and two markets. There are two excellent restaurants, a pizzeria, and some bars.
Most of the residents belong to families who have lived in town for several generations. Children can play safely on the street in front of the house.
Life in Cuglieri takes back to an ancient world. Unfortunately, due to lack of work, many young people had to emigrate. Many houses are uninhabited for many months a year. In summer, the town comes alive because Sardinian emigrants return to their homes on holiday and tourists come around. Natives of Cuglieri feel close to their land and traditions.
The ancient town of Cuglieri stands at the foot of Montiferru mountains on the west coast of Sardinia. It is an excellent meeting point between the mountains and the sea. On the same day, in the morning you can take a walk in the mountains and in the afternoon, you can soak in the sea.
The geographical position of Cuglieri is halfway between the north and south of the island. It is ideal for making excursions and trips to various locations on the island. Car is suggested.
The west coast of Sardinia radiates peace. Tourism is not excessive. There is no chaos, there is no stress. Life just goes by. Its inhabitants are unaffected by the rush. Sardinian will never hurry you. In Sardinia, the true values of life, the essential ones, are rediscovered.
Sardinia is famous for the sea and its coasts. It is not all. You will be breath taken by the glorious landscapes of great beauty, by immense spaces and by the light that makes everything shining.
By driving through the many roads, you may happen to come across a flock. No fear! Dogs watching over the flock can handle the situation. And you might have fun taking a picture of the many sheep that will border your car with no hurry.
At night, it may even happen that some wild boars cross the road in front of you. Drive carefully.
If you decide to spend your holidays in Sardinia at Rondinelle house you will not regret it. Sardinia is more than just a holiday!
Casa Le Rondinelle waits for you! The inhabitants of Cuglieri will welcome you with their genuine sense of hospitality.

About the host
Hosted by MARIA TERESA CONROTTO GRIMALDI

I was born in Turin (Northern Italy). I am about to turn 70. I worked in the field of communication. Now that my husband and I are retired, we try to spend most of our time in Sardinia. I consider myself an extrovert and sociable person. Any contact with people fascinates me. I try to learn something from every new person I meet. I like everything is innovative. I am passionate about nature, gardening and decoration. My motto is never to give up. My goal as HOST is to make guests feel at home in my house. Holidays are very important for both people who still work and for those who are retired. When you plan your holidays you make little dreams. As HOST I do my best in order to make your dreams come true!
Why they chose this property
I have good memories that make me feel in love with Sardinia. I discovered the Country the first time on my honeymoon in May 1970. My husband and I liked so much the Island that after a few years we bought a piece of land in a spot close to Cuglieri. Years by years, little by little, we built the house of our holidays. Ten years ago, when my husband and I retired, we decided to buy this second house in Cuglieri for my daughter and her family. The house was in poor condition so it took time to have it redone. My daughter, too, is fond of Cuglieri and its surroundings because since she was born, she came to Sardinia with us for many years.
The renovation of the house was a big issue. Now that Casa Le Rondinelle is ready to welcome people, we need to rent it some months a year. We are very pleased that other people loving Sardinia as much as we do, or other people liking to discover Sardinia the first time, have the chance to enjoy the comfort and the psychological well-being that Casa Le Rondinelle offers.
BUONA VACANZA!

What makes this property unique
The first time my husband and I climbed the terraces of the house we felt as we had become the lords of the sky. Many swallows were chirping, chasing each other and flying almost to touch our air on our heads. In the distance, in front of us was the shimmering sea and behind us were the tips of the mountains lit by the last rays of the sun. All around stood the roofs of the many houses of the village. The tolling of a bell came as it was from Paradise. We had the feeling of having landed in a fairy tale that actually turned true by buying that house that now is named Casa “Le Rondinelle”
