Your Relaxing Holiday Retreat


La Rosiere is a characterful 'Longere' which roughly translated means a long house. Our much loved 'Longere' is over 100 years old and has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. The local agent is aware of our high standards.
In 2022 both bathrooms where upgraded.

La Rosière consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 lovely modern bathrooms ,a modern well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area and is a lovely family home.
Each year we invest in the property ensuring it is traditional yet contemporary where it matters!. Electric heaters in all rooms, heated towels rails in both bathrooms, a wood-burner in the lounge area some wood is provided. In the kitchen there is an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, CD player, DVD player. Large garden, BBQ, garden furniture stored in it's own shed, which can also be used to store bicycles, At the front and the side of the house there is off-road parking.

Situated by the Vendee marshes, on the edge of the cosmopolitan town of St Jean de Mont, which has many restuarants, bars and shops. La Rosière offers a quiet haven for a peaceful and relaxing holiday with lovely views of the countryside , suitable for couples and families alike,
There are local supermarkets for your daily requirements, Super U, Intermarché and Lidl are just a 4 minute drive away, along with a wide fantastic sandy beach with lots of facilities for both children and adults of all ages.

Charming little place, lovely quiet relaxing location

Had a wonderful stay, so peaceful to sit out in the evening after a day at the beach or travelling around, well equipped and pleasantly cool inside when you want to escape the heat.

Erholsame Ruhe, phantastische Lage, schöner Garten

Wir hatten nun schon zum zweiten Mal zwei erholsame Wochen in dem schönen Haus. Viele schöne Grillabende, Badminton im Garten, Relaxen auf den Strandliegen. Einfach wunderbar! Die Lage ist perfekt, man hat es nicht weit zum Einkaufen, es gibt mehrere tolle Strände in der Nähe und diese Ruhe im Garten ist einfach gigantisch! Das Haus ist sauber, die Matratzen gut und der Kontakt zum Verwalter vor Ort war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Unsere Kinder 12 und 14 hatten sogar jeweils ein Zimmer für sich und viel Platz zum Sport im Garten. Es gibt jede Menge Fliegen und Mücken, aber das hat uns nur zeitweise gestört. Die Einrichtung wirkt gepflegt und geschmackvoll. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder! Vielen Dank , Shannon!

Herrlich!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in "La Rosiere". Das Haus ist sehr ruhig gelegen und sehr gut ausgestattet, so dass man alles für einen erholsamen Urlaub hat. Zum nächsten Strand sind es nur 10 min mit dem Auto. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin und der Agentur war schnell und einfach. Eine absolute Empfehlung

Erholsame Ferien in völliger Ruhe

Wir haben zwei Wochen in dem Haus verbracht und vor allem die ruhige Lage und den großen Garten mit Liegestühlen und tollem Grill genossen. Ein Schlafzimmer roch etwas nach Schimmel, das haben wir aber sowieso nur zum Lagern der Koffer genutzt. Küche ist top ausgestattet. Alles in allem ein extrem erholsamer Urlaub. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, haben sofort für das nächste Jahr wieder gebucht.

Location bien située et très calme. Mais plusieurs points négatifs : - la maison est ENVAHIE de mouches(prévoyez une grande quantité d'insecticides) - l 'odeur de la fosse sceptique est très incommodante.(impossible d'utiliser une salle d'eau tellement l'odeur était nauséabonde) -point de vue équipement :pas de grille pain, pas de mixeur , ect bref juste de quoi se faire chauffer des pâtes ☹☹☹☹☹ - plusieurs spots de moisissures dans la maison,point de vue santé c'est néfaste..... Voilà, pour tous ces points négatifs, notre séjour n'a été que moyennement apprécié....

Au calme, maison agréable

Aucun bruit pour vous réveiller le matin, au calme total. C’est vraiment appréciable. Certaines finitions manquent à la maison… traces de moisissures au plafond, lunette de wc bancale, carrelage qui se décolle, pas de fixation pour les volets qui claquent par grand vent, espaces verts tout juste entretenus, un petit effort sur le confort et la maison serait parfaite. Nous avons passé malgré tout une très bonne semaine dans cette habitation très bien équipée.

Location très calme au milieu des marais en contact avec la nature, mais pas de problème de moustiques ou insectes indésirables. Petit problème d'odeur de fosse septique par temps couvert, mais très supportable. Maison très agréable et vaste jardin, plaisant, avec barbecue, terrasse et chaises longues. Avons passé 15 jours agréables et reposants.

Au calme...

Nous avons passé une agréable semaine dans le logement. Nous recherchions le calme et la tranquilité, et nous les avons trouvés ... pas de voisinage , peu de passage de voitures... Les équipements correspondent à ce qui est annoncé l'annonce. Nous avons pu mettre nos vélos à l'abri dans le cabanon de jardin.

A home away from home

There was seven people staying at this property, we where concerned prior to arriving that there would not be enough space this was not the case there is lots of space and the out door area and supply of garden furniture was a plus as the weather was hot and we spend most of our time outside. The house was very clean and well organised. The kitchen contained everything needed for our stay, the only negative in the kitchen was the hob. It was slow but we managed, plus it was an excuse not to cook all the time. The bedrooms where excellent, they where clean and had enough storage space needed. The bathrooms where excellent also and had lots of hot water. We really enjoyed our stay, the area was quiet and peaceful which we loved but within driving distance to an excellent beach and other activities. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to explore the area and achieve a stay in a house of excellent standards

Peaceful retreat in the marshes

We had a wonderful week in this well equipped long house. The only complaint we had was with the electric hob which was incredibly slow (20mins to boil a pan of water) and all electric tripped out if you tried to use more than 2 rings. We adjusted our cooking accordingly amd enjoyed many BBQs in the lovely garden.

La maison est située dans un endroit très calme en pleine campagne ce qui est très reposant . De plus elle est bien équipée , propre et accueillante .Nous y avons passé un séjour idéal avec nos petits enfants qui ont profité du grand jardin . Nous y retournerions volontiers .

La Rosière : jolie, pratique et calme

La Rosière est une super maison de vacances. Elle était suffisament grande pour nous 5 (4 adultes et une enfant de 20 mois). La maison était propre à notre arrivée. Les 3 chambres sont jolies et le linge de lit sent bon. Un petit bémol pour le matelas de la chambre parentale (avec sdb) qui s'enfonce complètement. Les deux salles de bains et toilettes sont très pratiques, la cuisine est bien équipée en ustensiles, le barbecue nous a beaucoup servi aussi. Par contre, il y a un problème d'odeur quand on entre dans la maison qui provient des salles de bain. Et de nombreuses mouches viennent profiter du séjour. En étant en pleine campagne, c'est normal mais c'est à savoir. L'environnement de la maison est calme : il n'y a pas beaucoup de passage de voitures et seulement quelques personnes, exactement ce que nous voulions. Et la proximité des magasins, du centre-ville avec ses marchés et de la plage, nous a permis de sortir facilement tous les jours (5-10 min mais la voiture est obligatoire). Nous avons beaucoup aimé la ville de Saint-Jean-de-Monts. Sharon est très sympathique et a répondu à mes questions rapidement et ré-expliquait si besoin (en anglais seulement). Nous reviendrons sûrement pour passer à nouveau de bonnes vacances à La Rosière :) La Rosière is a great ​home for ​holiday​s. It was big enough for ​the 5​ of us​ (4 adults and ​a 20-month old child​). The home was clean when we arrived. The 3 bedrooms are nice and the bed linen smell​s​ good. However, the mattress is too soft in the parental room. The 2 bathroom and toilets ​were very useful, the kitchen ​is well equipped and we enjoyed a lot the barbecue. But there are bad smells when we open the house​, probably due to the bathrooms. ​Due to the countryside, there were also a lot of flies and bugs.​ The ​neighbourhood is very quiet : 3 or 4 cars and only a few people, ​which was exactly what we were looking for our holidays​. ​The city of ​Saint-Jean-de-Monts ​- which we enjoyed pretty much - ​is very ​near and we were therefore able to enjoy markets, supermarkets ​as well as beach (5-10 minutes​ by car​). Sharon​, the owner,​ is very nice and she answers quickly. We ​enjoyed the city and we ​will probably come back at La Rosière to ​have again some good times for holidays :)

Wunderschönes, großzügiges Haus im Marais. Schön ruhig gelegen. Gerne wieder.

Ein tolles altes, aber gut und modern renoviertes Haus. Ideal für einen ruhigen, erholsamen Urlaub in der Nähe zum Meer. Zimmer toll eingerichtet. Auch der Garten lädt zum Entspannen ein.

Why they chose this property

We had been looking for houses for a while as we liked the area, having stayed at Le Victoria on a number of occasions. We were walking past the Estate Agents in the town and saw a different house advertised. Asked for details but it was in the town and were then given the datails if our house. Loved the view from the back garden and decided to buy it!!.
We can highly reccomend La Rosière for like minded people looking for peace and tranquility and yet close to the coast. It sits within a 'Protected Heritage Site' on a large area of Marais with nesting Herons and Stalks.
We also have coypu and deer, sometimes the dear run across the fields at the back of our garden.
We bought our Longère with this is mind and each year have invested in making it incresingly comfortable.
It has been our holiday home for some years now and so for 2017 have decided to 'share' our home with others.
