About this property
Luxury 4* Gold Self-Catering Cottages in Oxford
Oxford Country Cottages is a series of luxury 4* Gold self-catering cottages on Lower Farm at the end of the Cotswold village of Noke, a secluded country retreat with the 1000 acre RSPB Otmoor reserve as our neighbour and all just five miles from Oxford centre and Bicester centre. One, two and three bedroom cottages sleeping up to 24 in total and available for holidays and business short lets throughout the year.
Oxford Country Cottages are four single story cottages all located within 50 yards of each other in a stunning and tranquil courtyard garden, featuring our Jacuzzi Hot Tub, a Wendy House full of toys for the Children with no passing traffic and a small but well stocked farm shop. Beautifully converted from farm buildings, the cottages combine farmhouse character and comfort with discreet modern essentials. We have a 4* Gold award from Visit England and a Green Tourism ‘Gold’ award for our consideration to the environment with all of our cottages being heated by our Biomass Boiler, electricity provided by our 50KW Solar Panel System and have access to 1 Gigabit pure fibre optic broadband, the fastest Internet access in the world!
We are ideal for a romantic break for 2, a family get together, a wedding or an inspired alternative to a hotel whilst away on business.
Leave all your troubles behind you and relax in this tranquil countryside hideaway. Positioned on the edge of 1000 acres of the beautiful RSPB reserve of Otmoor with, at its heart, the farmhouse and a quadrangle of cottages providing tranquility and seclusion where you can unwind and relax. This is the perfect base to explore with historic Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village, the Cotswolds and Shakespeare’s Stratford all within easy reach, yet still within an hour of London or Birmingham.
Here at Lower Farm we are avid Animal lovers and have grown our Menagerie over the years to now boast Chickens, Ducks, Kune Kune Pigs, and Miniature Donkeys, alongside our resident pets! We would be delighted to introduce the Animal team to anyone who is interested and Children seem to be particularly enthralled by this experience!
Daily Feeding of the animals takes place at 9.30 every morning, where young or old can feed and collect eggs from the Chickens and Ducks, meet the Pigs and Donkeys and maybe even have a sit on one of the Miniature Donkeys depending on the size of the jockey! Just come to the Farmhouse Gate at 9.30 daily and ring the doorbell if interested….We look forward to seeing you there!!
Blenheim Cottage with 3 bedrooms is our largest cottage and a fantastic base to entertain if taking more than one of our cottages or a very comfortable space for a family of six or a group of professionals. The Cottage boasts a large open plan living room & dining room, a beautiful country kitchen with a four oven Aga, huge fridge freezer with ice machine, Nespresso machine and everything else you’ll need to cook up a feast!
Sink into the sumptuous leather sofas to enjoy the wood burning stove and 55″ Smart TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Now TV where you can access Sky TV via our ultrafast WiFi connection.
Blenheim Cottage sleeps six in 3 bedrooms: the master bedroom is a kingsize double, the second can be made up as either a super-kingsize double or as a twin bedroom, and the third is a twin with adult bunk beds.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Felicity Dolleymore

James & Felicity Dolleymore live here at Lower Farm and run Oxford Country Cottages with the help of a small & able team, including our 3 year old daughter Rosie, Housekeeper Ricky, Head Gardener Mrs. Cooke (Felicity’s mother), Groundsman Martin, Bob the Labradinger, 3 Cats, 2 Pigs, 2 miniature Donkeys and the Chickens & Ducks who provide us with delicious fresh eggs.
Our neighbours are Hillend Farm who have the most delightful Black Welsh Mountain Sheep, and the RSPB who bought the land that used to belong to Lower Farm and returned it to 1000 acres of stunning wetlands about 15 years ago. All of this on your doorstep and just 5 miles from the centre of Oxford!
