About this property

Completely renovated and continuously upgraded three bedroom, two bathroom condominium facing the ocean on the first floor in the Island House at Sea Colony. PERSONALLY MANAGED BY OWNER, NOT A MANAGEMENT COMPANY. This is a ground floor unit that is steps away from the beach through our patio doors-no waiting for the elevators! Unit is upgraded every winter to insure all appliances and furniture are in excellent working condition. Fully renovated and stocked kitchen with cookware, utensils, dishes and appliances. Flat screen, smart TVs in all rooms. Hard wood flooring throughout main rooms. Living room features a large sectional upgraded sleeper sofa and 60 inch TV. Dining table seats six with additional seating for two at the serving counter. Island House is on the southern end of the Sea Colony collection of buildings resulting in very little foot traffic in the hallways or on the promenade. Very quiet!

Primary bedroom has a king bed and adjoining master bath with shower/tub, generous counter space and cabinetry.

2nd (front) bedroom has a queen-sized bed, nightstands and closet. 3rd (back) bedroom furnished with a twin-over-double bunk bed, nightstands, reading chair and lamp, and closet. Hall bathroom has generously sized standing shower with rain head and hand held shower spray. Brand new stacked washer/dryer in hall closet.

Comforters, extra blankets and pillows are provided. All beds are extremely comfortable.

Patio with table, chairs and umbrella for outdoor dining. Beach chairs (8) and beach umbrella are available to guests in the lockers underneath the building.

Elevators and stairs to the ground floor parking lot are steps away. Unit is equipped with a keyless entry system.

Sea Colony has 2 large gyms with cardio and weight equipment. Fitness classes are available at an additional per-class charge. Indoor pools/hot tub open year-round. Outdoor pools available during the summer season.

Additional fees: Guests will need to pay an Activity fee to the Sea Colony resort for the use of activities and parking. This is a required resort fee paid directly to the resort at arrival.

Wonderful stay!

This was our second stay at this condo in Bethany. Everything was clean, neat and well stocked. The location is excellent, and the first floor walk out right to the beach is perfect!

Nice Spot!

Clean, great spot, close to beach, end of sea colony so some privacy, close drive to bethany boardwalk which we liked, water runs good, ac and heat work great, everything works, bed is comfy, and Mary is a great host who answered all our questions and was very helpful. We made some fun memories as a family here. Thank you Mary!

Absolutely wonderful second stay!

This was our second stay at Mary’s beautiful condo, and we had the best time! The condo is very tastefully decorated, clean, cool, and comfortable. As I mentioned in my previous review last year, Mary thought through and fully anticipated all guest needs. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with clean, new appliances, dishes, cutlery, etc., which makes it very easy to cook a meal at home rather than going out. The walkout patio to the beach and pool is such a nice amenity (no need to wait for the elevator!) The beds were also super comfortable, which is a stark contrast to most rentals. Lastly, the Sea Colony amenities can’t be beat. It’s wonderful to be right up on the beach and have the swimming pool so close by as well, and if you go during the “in season,” you can use all of them across the resort. We truly enjoyed our stay, made so many wonderful memories, and can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful beachside escape!

Mary’s apartment was beautiful, clean, well-kept, and well-appointed. The prettiest and cleanest Sea Colony flat we’ve stayed at in our 8 years of coming here. Being at walk-out level is great and convenient, as was our keypad access. The apartment is sparkling and everything feels new and in great condition. Communication with Mary was easy. Would absolutely recommend!

I grew up in the Philadelphia area and my husband Vince is from Northern Virginia. We met while working and studying in NYC. We have moved around quite a bit, living on both coasts and in the middle of the country before finally settling in Harrisburg, PA. We have always loved the beach and spent many vacation weeks at various beaches up and down the East Coast and in California.

Why they chose this property

Visiting a friend at Sea Colony while on a lacrosse tournament tour with my then teenage son, I fell in love with Bethany Beach. The immaculate beach, the quiet town, the excellent restaurants and the oceanfront luxury provided by the Sea Colony complex all beckoned to me. When I told Vince I wanted to buy a condo that had just come on the market, he happily agreed. We completed a gut renovation to our condo that summer and have spent many relaxing weeks in it, both during the summer and in the off season. We hope your family finds it as comfortable and beautiful as we do, and comes back to enjoy the summer pleasures that Bethany offers again and again.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the area first and then with Island House. We love the privacy of our unit. It is the last of the 9 Sea Colony buildings and far enough away from the center of the complex that there is a sense of privacy. Because we step directly from our unit onto the decking, we rarely use the elevator and have easy access from the beach to our unit when we need a lunch break. We are also steps away from the large outdoor pool and fitness area in the Edgewater complex. There is a small convenience store here as well for those mornings when we run out of half-and-half for our coffee!
