The house was beautiful and well-situated. Unfortunately, it was very cold the afternoon we arrived and it turned out there was no way to make heat in the house. Manuel was very kind to allow us to cancel and find accommodations that were more suitable for us. I would definitely consider staying at the house during summer when the lack of heat would not be an issue.

We did not have a heating system in the house when they booked the house. Also we had our heating appliances broke. Since then we have installed a air conditionnig and heating system in the house. If they decide to stay in the near future, they can try our new air conditionning sytem.

Fantastic Pico island

We traveled to Paris, Lisboa and Pico island and this was the best most relaxing place we stayed. When I go back to Pico island I will make every attempt to stay here again. We loved it. Thank you so much for our stay.

Six Friends Getaway in the Azores

Casa Rosa (the Pink House) was the perfect spot for our 5 days on Pico for our group of three couples. The owner, Manuel, speaks English fluently and is extremely helpful. He, and his brother- and sister-in-law, who live next door, were very responsive to any issues we had, including coming over at 11 pm to restore power lost during a storm, and responding within a few minutes when one of our party got locked in a bathroom! And, after all their help THEY gave US a bottle of wine for our trouble! As for the house, the five bedrooms provided plenty of space and choice, and each couple had their own bathroom (which is hard to find). The kitchen was large and well appointed and there was plenty of space to spread out in the house. The outdoor dining table worked well for breakfasts and dinners. Casa Rosa is about a 5 min drive or 25-30 min walk up a gradual hill from Madelena harbor. It’s perfect if you have a car as there is onsite parking. If no car, the walk is not difficult, and you pass a grocery store on the way, which is convenient. There are also inexpensive taxis if the walk seems too long, but be aware they stop at 10 pm. We were very happy with our stay at the Pink House, and would definitely recommend it for any larger groups or families.

Das Haus ist wirklich groß, gut eingerichtet. Es hat eine schöne überdachte Terrasse und ist zu Fuß 25 min vom Hafen entfernt.Leider riecht es in der Küche und in einigen Schlafräumen sehr nach Schimmel, so dass unsere Freunde das Schlafzimmer gewechselt haben (es gab ja genügend) und auf das Kochen haben wir verzichtet.Aber optisch ist es schön und auch gut ausgestattet.

Muito bom

A casa está muito bem localizada, na estrada principal. O supermercado perto é a maior valia, mas também se chega ao centro de Madalena com 20 minutos a pé. Fomos em família, 6 pessoas adultas e não utilizamos a casa toda, que é muito grande. A relação preço/qualidade muito equilibrado.

Casa muito boa para grupos

Casa linda, espaçosa e muito confortável, cozinha bem equipada e jardim bonito. Adorámos! Supermercado grande à 200 metros. Quem gosta de caminhar, chega ao centro de Madalena à pé. O proprietário é muito simpático. Único ponto menos bom: uma das três casas de banho é relativamente pequena e não tem janela, o que pode ser complicado quando tem de ser usada por várias pessoas.

Lovely home!

This was absolutely a beautiful home for our group of 7 to stay quite comfortably! Immaculately clean. It can easily hold much larger groups. Very private, yet close to what we needed during our stay. The only down side is that the actual nightly fee is much higher due to all the fees.
