About this property
Luxurious lakefront home, now booking Fall-Winter 2025 and Summer 2026
Maison du Lac, located on picturesque Beaucaire Avenue, sits on a quiet, sunny section of magnificent Megunticook Lake. You can swim, boat or fish immediately off your own dock.
In winter, the house becomes a cozy ski cabin located only minutes from the Camden Snow Bowl. The house has a back-up generator in the event of power outages and sits peacefully on the waters edge surrounded only by nature.
The all-wood post and beam interior enjoys lake views from every room. A ground floor to rooftop fieldstone fireplace graces the living area and master bedroom. Relax in a luxurious, leather LLBean Lodge sofa or armchair after a fun day in or on the water, hiking up Maiden's Cliff, strolling through town along the harbor, or sailing on an historic windjammer out on Penobscot Bay, or a day of downhill skiing.
Maison du Lac was completely rebuilt in 2007 and is clean, fresh and modern, while maintaining the cozy charm of a lakefront cabin. The house is southwest facing and enjoys spectacular sunsets.
The property is only three miles from oceanfront downtown Camden and its many restaurants, shops, and attractions.
The location on Megunticook Lake is ideal, in a no-wake zone for boats, so swimming, kayaking or canoeing is safe and calm, and Beaucaire Avenue itself is a quiet, leafy road ideal for walking, biking or jogging. For enthusiastic boaters you have 1300 +/- acres of lake outside the no wake zone for high speed boating/tubing or waterskiing.
In winter, there is only the the lake, trees and nature as far as the eye can see, and the lake is transformed to a winter wonderland of outstanding beauty, ideal for cross country skiing, ice skating or ice fishing.
Megunticook lake is one of the finest lakes in the region with a maximum depth in places of up to 70 feet which keeps the water cool and fresh all summer long, and there is no problem with grass or weeds which plague many of the nearby smaller water bodies.
Ideally situated in the Mid-Coast region, neighboring towns such as Belfast, Rockport and Rockland also offer a thriving food, art, and shopping scene which, coupled with the area’s vast array of sporting and outdoor adventure opportunities, including fresh and salt water boating and swimming, fishing, island hopping, mountain hiking and biking, walking and so on make the region a superb vacation destination.
Maison did Lac is ideally situated in the midst of all that the area offers, and if you can bear to leave the lake at all you will have much choice of how to spend your time.
Included in your rental are all linens and towels, including swim towels. Post Covid all bedding is professionally laundered and wrapped. The house is comfortably stocked with essentials including soaps and detergents, toilet paper, paper towels, spices and various pantry items.
Inside are two flat screen Samsung TVs, 55” and 65”, high speed internet, Edifier blue tooth speakers, many books, board games, and a tuned piano for entertainment. All bedrooms now have window air conditioning installed.
We look forward to hosting you Summer 2024!
