Grandma's house was a great little place to stay for Independence Day weekend! It was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for the weekend.
Such a great place to stay, so close to a beautiful beach and so close to everything in town. Also, very handy for charter fishing and a hot tub to come home to. Worked great for our dog as well. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, amazing place to stay in Westport. Felt like home right away!
Great location and a great bargain. Hard to go wrong here with the amazing yard and hot tub. We really liked the bikes too!
Grandma’s House is a perfect name for it. It felt like my grandma was just in the other room the whole time. We stayed here for our winter on the coast. We would go out to the beach or the wharf in the late mornings, have lunch, get cold and wet, stop at the grocery store on the way home, dinner, games and screens, and then a dip in the hot tub. It’s very much a snug home with its own personality; don’t expect plain, fashionable hotel accomodations. Perfect for our family.
Very impressed very cozy enjoyed.the entire visit. Would stay again definitely. Loved the hot tub. We were there for 8 days. Hope to stay longer next time. Thank you so much
The place is so comfortable. Big yard for the dog. Everything you need is there. This is the second time we have stayed there. Will definitely be back.
We were 5 minutes to walking the beach, 30 to 40 minutes to some great golf courses. The yard was fantastic for the dog, she had the whole yard front and back. We also enjoyed some really good black berries everywhere. It was great place to wrap up road trip.
We stayed here for my 40th birthday because we were going out on a fishing charter and to go razer clamming. The property was perfect for us and has a home feel to it which I appreciated. It had everything we needed and then some. It's nothing fancy but we usually don't need that. We plan on booking again next year but this time bringing our children along.

Came up a little short
Cute place. Could use some TLC. Beds were not good. Bathroom needs work. Toilet was very short. Not good if you have long legs. Could not get the CC to turn off on the TV. The Kitchen needed some help
Hosts were very accommodating moving our reservation one day at last minute when I got delayed in a blizzard. The place was perfect for a winter retreat to the beach in the winter. We took our labs and it was our 1 year olds first beach visit. The yard was great for well behaved dogs. The place is as it looks in listing. Not fancy but had everything we needed. Seemed like the housekeepers could have done a little better job. We left a tip for any dog hair we might have missed. Just right for relaxing with pets or kids and not worrying about damaging a high end rental. Comfy and homey. Thanks
We rented this property for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The owners and staff were very sweet and put up some Christmas decorations and lights for us, to make our trip a little more special for the holiday.
The backyard was absolutely lovely and my service dog enjoyed it very much! We enjoyed the indoor fireplace and the hot tub as well! They have a large supply of firewood at your disposal which made my little country-girl heart so happy! This is a small home that reminded me very much of a similar one that our family lived in for five generations, so the kids and I enjoyed it! We will likely be back again sometime! Great response time from both the owners and their employees to help with anything we needed, even on the holiday! Do book this place if you're thinking about it. It's a cozy little home away from home!
The house is perfect for up to 4 people. It was great having a fenced yard. The hottub was awesome as well. The location is good...very close (about 5-6 minute drive) to beaches, restaurants, espresso stand and grocery store. Half Moon Bay is absolutely clean and a beautiful beach! The road the home is located (S Forrest) the cars go by very fast so be cautious if walking kids/dogs. Also the mosquitos (these tiny brown things called (No-see-ums) apparently called as they are so tiny they are difficult to see are vicious. I was bit over 30 times on a 45 minute walk. The next day I wore mosquito spray, but still managed to get bit a few more times. They go under loose clothing too. Overall Grandma's House and Westport was awesome. I just hated the mosquitos!

Ocean Fun
We stayed at Grandma's house for a week over the 4th of July. We enjoyed the house and yard and will be back. Would have loved to be able to walk to the beach rather than drive, but having a house that allows dogs made up for it in every way.
We're foodies and couldn't believe it when we saw the Belgique pans and a cast iron skillet. We brought our own cast iron pans but wouldn't have needed to. The oven appears to be pretty new, is very clean and keeps at the correct temperature. There is anything that you would want in the kitchen. We used the crock pot to have spaghetti sauce cooking all day and ready for us when returning from the ocean.
The hot tub is new and we enjoyed it after sitting out by the camp fire. There are plenty of towels and products in the bathroom that if you forgot something it would probably be at the house. The internet works well and there is basic cable TV. You'll also find a collection of movies and books.
Most important for us was being able to bring our dog. We usually camp so we can bring Cooper but Gramma's house understood that and even provides dog beds and bowls.
The house is older but clean and well maintained. We met the couple who maintains the house and couldn't ask for nicer people.
Would definitely give the house a five star rating. The only negative would be that there is too much stuff in the house. They could get rid of half the bedding and kitchen stuff and still have more than enough. The closets are hard to use because they are packed with bedding and plastic containers with more bedding.
Thank you to Gramma for a great rental at a reasonable price. You rock!!
Husband and son went fishing and I watched the dogs and ejoyed the beach. House is well stocked and the yard is huge for the dogs. Hot tub was nice as the guys were sore and whooped after fishing. It's pretty much centrally located. Not far from anything. We stayed 7 nights cooked some of our fish and ate out a few nights. Beds were comfortable. Honestly it's just nice to able to take your dogs and not have to worry about them being dogs. They only ask that you be a responsible pet owner and that's completely reasonable. We would stay there again.
Came to explore the area for 4 nights. Found the beds very comfortable, well stocked kitchen, and close to things. Took some walks and drives on the beach. Enjoyed the seafood . I would stay at this house again if we come back to the area.
Not fancy, but it has everything you need and more. Located in a convenient but quiet location. A very good value.

About the host
Hosted by Rene Tobin
We are Shawn and Rene Tobin. We live in Startup Washington on the way to Stevens Pass. We love vacation houses and stay in them when we travel. We started out buying our first house in Westport when we adopted our 2 youngest children many years ago. We needed a place to stay when we came to visit grandmas Glenna and Beth. Our family just did not fit in a hotel room anymore. We decided to rent the house out when we were not using it to make ends meet. We found a property manager to rent it for us but they went out of business. Rene decided to manage the house herself and discovered she really enjoyed the job. We love sharing Westport with others and helping people make vacation memories!
Why they chose this property
This house is owned by the Tobin Family. Shawn Tobin grew up living with his Grandparents Earl and Elizabeth Brown in this house. Years ago we made a deal to buy Grandma's house from her while she lived in it. Shawn wanted the house to stay in the family and he wanted to help his grandma out with a little extra bingo money. Earl was a commercial fisherman with his brother Ed and Elizabeth worked in the canneries. Shawn's mom Glenna worked in the hospitality industry and his sister Mickie worked at the shipyard. Other family owned and worked Cranberry Bogs. Shawn spent his childhood riding his bike around Westport playing in the woods and at the beach and developed a love of nature that led him to work for parks. Rene grew up in the suburbs of Seattle. Her parents loved the beach and family vacations seemed to always led to the coast.
What makes this property unique
Grandma's house has 2 bedrooms with beds set up to accommodate one or two couples or a family with kids. The house is very pet friendly with a fenced yard. Everything you need for comfort and convenience is provided. Meals are easy in the well stocked kitchen, there is a full bath and washer and dryer. We have provided bikes and helmets for just about everyone and a firepit with wood too. And last but not least there is a private hot tub.
