Super stay - muliti-generational family group of 17 aged 5 to 82, enough space not to throttle each otber (usually!)
Beautifully equipped, lots of communal space, lashings of hot water p!us pool and hot tub. Thoroughly recommended
We can't praise this property and location enough. The property had everything needed to enjoy a stress free break away and the owners were lovely and always super quick to respond to any questions. 8 adults, 6 children under 7 and a dog stayed for 4 nights over New Year and we couldn't have hoped for anything better. It was clean and well stocked and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely getaway. The hot tub was divine after a long day and the views are stunning. Thank you again for a wonderful break.

Thank you for the fabulous review! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and are delighted that you enjoyed your New Year visit to Cae Madog Barn. We would be very pleased to welcome you back any time!
I assume that Gemma might claim that the good weather was all part of the service!? We were so lucky-- the sunshine, ensured that we made full use of the swimming pool and hot tub. It was a family celebration of 4 birthdays, and a weekend that we will all remember for a very long time. Glorious walks from the house--- even although the grandchildren all soaked their clothes in the stream. The 7 cousins had such fun together. Thank you Gemma and Simon for making us so welcome. Would love to return--- if you will have us?!

Fantastic!
We recently returned from a long weekend for mine and my twin sister's 40th. The weather was atrocious but that didn't hinder our fun. The accommodation is perfect for a large party. The photos do not do it justice. The lodge is well presented and extremely clean. Kitchen has everything you would need. We particularly liked the large table to sit around and the lounge space is lovely. The hot tub is in a separate covered area which made it ideal when weather was bad...bit of a shock running back to the house though! We also enjoyed the pool table. We had a day trip to the beautiful beach at Aberdovey and ate fish and chips! We would definitely recommend this to friends and family.
Beautiful barn with outstanding views, heated pool was an added bonus! Quick and easy communication with the owners if needed who are on hand next door. Wonderful place, worth the long drive! Thank you Simon & Gemma.
A lovely home in a beautiful setting with lots of facilities suitable for all age ranges. Very clean and host very responsive and helpful to all queries . Only improvement would be to add some basic instructions on how to operate all appliances and hot tub so as not to waste time. However we worked it all out eventually and had an absolutely wonderful weekend.

Thanks for the great review Priti! There are instructions for the appliances in the kitchen cupboard, which I pointed out to the first guest, but my apologies if you weren't able to find them. It may be helpful if I leave them on the worktop in future. The instructions for the hot tub are displayed in the hot tub cabin, but I will review them to make sure they are clear.
We are so pleased that you all had a good time.

Nice Stay Overall
Clean property with everything you need. Amazing views with a very nice hot tub and pool/outside area. Would recommend to a group who won’t make much noice in evenings as owners and neighbours are strict with their policies. Overall a nice stay

Thanks for the positive review Darshni. As you have said, our property, although rural, does have a few neighbours and we do our best to respect their enjoyment of the beautiful and peaceful surroundings by asking guests to ensure they don't make excessive noise after 11pm, which is in line with Government regulations. We need to bear in mind that, while guests may be having a one-off event, we have guests all year, so that could add up to a lot of noisy events.
I must agree though- the views are spectacular, aren't they?!
Really smooth process. Beautiful location with great facilities
Shame the weather wasn’t a little warmer to appreciate outside more
Owners very accommodating

Superb!!!
I booked this for my daughters hen party gathering as it ticked all the boxes. The place was perfect making the stay extra special. Spotlessly clean, well equipped in a picturesque location. Bedrooms warm and comfortable with beds made up on arrival. It had the most impressive view imaginable, especially whilst relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine! Lots of space in lounge area and huge dining table that meant our party of 16 could all sit comfortably together for meals. Just perfect and couldnt have been better. Would definately recommend for family gatherings etc.
Thank you Simon and Gemna

Lovely barn with character and comfort
We stayed here recently and had a wonderful time. The location is great for walking without driving but has nice towns nearby too. The accommodation was perfect for us (16 of us) plenty of good quality comfortable chairs and beds and could all fit around the dining table comfortably too. One of the best places we’ve stayed in.

About the host
Hosted by Simon and Gemma
We have lived in Wales for 30 years and bought the Barn about 17 years ago. It was semi-derelict at the time and renovating it to a high standard has been a labour of love! We make sure we live in the property ourselves a couple of times a year and invite members of our large family to stay so we can 'road test' everything to make sure it's got everything you want for a fantastic family holiday.
Why they chose this property
Plenty of room for multiple families, with 2 sitting rooms and a dining room big enough to sit together, but with lots of space to escape from all the hustle and bustle if you feel the need.
What makes this property unique
The views really are spectacular! The peace and quiet is to be relished, although there are several bustling market towns within an easy drive. There is a heated pool for your exclusive use, a sauna and a games room. You're only about half an hour away from the beach with Snowdonia just a little further away.
