Craig Alvah Lodge sets the standard, appointed with stunning Poggen Pohl kitchen, Villeroy and Boch and Lauren Allessi bathroom fittings. Floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen brings the outside in.

No stone was left unturned in the quest to create luxurious self-catering holiday accommodation. It sits in a unique location above the Bridge of Alvah and the famous gorge of the River Deveron. The property is secluded and remote yet only 2 miles from Banff on Scotland’s stunning Moray Firth coastline. It’s surrounded by beautiful woodland and countryside as far as the eye can see.

Picturesque and remote, the grounds are spectacular where you’ll find football goals, sunken trampoline and an incredible Rainbow systems play frame. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained, and that’s before you explore the surrounding woodland which is home to red squirrels, rabbits, roe deer, woodpeckers, pine marten and more. Beautiful woodland and riverside walks start right from the door.

For indoor entertainment, there’s a Sonos sound system, table tennis table and pool table, 2 Sky TV boxes with full Sky package.

Excellent family weekend

We spent 3 days in this amazing house. Went beyond our expectations. Plenty of space for all the family. The pool and games room kept our grandchildren entertained plus a lovely large garden to play rounders! Hope to visit again.

Wonderful family break

Lovely place, very spacious, a lovely welcome basket. The games room and swimming pool were enjoyed by all the family. Kitchen had all the necessary appliances for a large group. The only downside was there was not enough hot water for showers if there were a few used at the same time. That been said I’d definitely stay again

What a fantastic stay!

First impressions of driving up the driveway to the house through the woodland was beautiful then once you get through the doors it was truly impressive! The house is beautiful and so big! All the rooms are a great size and our family of 10 was so comfortable. age range 6-60) the kitchen has every utensil you could need and we never felt that anything was missing or how they could improve. The swimming pool was a massive hit with everyone especially the younger ones. The two youngers ones did not want to leave they was very sad to go. Great base for exploring, the grounds itself has lovely walks, we didn't get the weather when we stayed but it was still a great stay.

We had a fabulous family holiday at Craig Alvah Lodge. The children loved the well equipped garden and indoor swimming pool. The adults enjoyed lounging in the sunshine playing pool, ping pong and swimming. The facilities provided were exceptional and we were sad when it was time to leave, thanks for a memorable holiday xx

Great family weekend.

Craig Alvah Lodge provided the perfect place for our family to get together for the weekend. The house is very spacious, well equipped and very clean throughout. Everything is of a very high standard, which was much appreciated by us all. The pool was a great bonus and provided great fun for young and old alike, especially as one day was rainy. The family also enjoyed the pool and table tennis, again good to occupy all on the dull day. Luckily one day was beautiful and we made the most of the barbecue and the well-kept garden. Lots of outdoor seating is provided. It was only a short walk to the picturesque Bridge of Alvah. No wonder this place gets booked up!

This is a super venue for a large family event, with everything provided we needed and facilities for all ages except the very elderly The pool was an absolute hit with our grandchildren, and providing pool towels and an airer is such a bonus

Great stay with the family .The swimming pool was a great hit with the grandchildren and the games room was great especially the log fire.Some of the seating was sinking a bit and a few of the furnishings looked tired but overall enjoyed our stay.

Great, spacious house for a family celebration!

Had a great long weekend at Craig Alvah for a family celebration. The house is very large with plenty of room for everyone. Beds and bedding are very comfy. Plenty of towels are supplied. The pool is great and nice and warm, the kids loved it. I would definitely recommend!

Family gathering weekend

Chidren loved the swimming pool and outdoor space. Adults also enjoyed the large garden for football and relaxing. Table tennis and pool were played every day. Lots of nice walks on the doorstep and lovely beaches nearby. An excellent holiday retreat. Everyone sad at going home.This has been our second visit to this house.Very lucky both times with amazing weather.

Absolutely beautiful

We honestly didn’t want to leave Craig Alvah Lodge! From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the place. It’s tucked away in such a beautiful, peaceful setting, surrounded by woodland and nature, and it was exactly the escape we needed. We loved being able to step straight out and explore the surrounding area. We had some lovely walks through the woods, down towards Alvah Bridge and past the Ice House towards Duff House. There are so many little paths and places to discover, and it was just lovely being able to slow down and enjoy the scenery. The lodge itself was lovely and comfortable, and the whole setting has such a special atmosphere. There’s something incredibly calming about being surrounded by nature with hardly any noise or hustle and bustle. We genuinely felt relaxed here in a way we haven’t for a long time. We had 4 children with us between 11 and 15 and from the minute they woke up to going to bed they never stopped, the facilities for them are great and walks kept them going all day and we didn’t hear ‘I’m bored’ once. Banff itself is lovely too, the people in the village of Banff are so welcoming and lovely. We used a little bakery called The Home Bakery, lovely lady with beautiful treats and her sausage rolls are to die for! We also went in to John Stewart quality butcher on the high street. Again lovely people that work there, they helped us with all our questions wondering what food was what. We ended up buying meat the day before we came home and because it’s a 10 hour journey they vacuum packed the meat for us… absolutely beautiful food! Just a short walk round the front of Banff is a beach Called Boyndie beach stunning white sand. Craig Alvah Lodge is one of those places that you leave already thinking about when you can come back. We had such a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere beautiful, peaceful and away from the usual holiday chaos. We will definitely be back! ❤️

Craig Alvah Lodge

Amazing house and facilities for our family of 8 adults and 5 children aged from 2 to 10 years. Everyone loved the indoor swimming pool snooker and table tennis. The children enjoyed the outdoor facilities. The nice weather was a bonus with lots of lovely walks. The facilities in the house were first class and I would highly recommend this property. Hopefully we will return for another family get together.

Cousins Weekend

We had a lovely relaxed weekend the house is amazing. Plenty of space for everyone. Sonas system for our music. Pool was lovely and clean and checked everyday we were in the house. Alan our host was only a text message away if we needed him.

Beautiful house and grounds, most spectacular views and very private.Has everything you need there. The house is well maintained and clean with all the essentials you need. The only thing you need is some citrus candles in the garden on the night to repel the nats. Beautiful little town few minutes away. The only downside was we didnt have a nice experience with the Tesco staff they were very rude and unfriendly, apart from that we had a lovely family hoilday would definitely recommend!

Family Birthday treat

We had a magic time at the lodge we would highly recommend this place.The moment you open the door it was a WoW feeling!Big open spaces and lovely rooms all very bright and fresh.Excellent facilities too especially the swimming pool /pool table / table tennis and beautiful Large Garden with large swing set and Trampoline and a set of Goals,great fun for the kids.Lovely walks and very peaceful too.We all had a ball the week we was there can't wait to go back again.Thank you .

Amazing lodge

Absolutely loved our stay at the lodge, kids loved the swimming pool and spent do many hours in it. Games room was good too, but we could not find the table tennis bats unfortunately. The location was rural, but 10 minutes in the car into town. We honestly could not fault the lodge fully equipped with everything you need, toilet roll, soap, cloths the lot, The grounds were beautiful too. We had a lovely dinner and the Fife Hotel and also Banff springs, would def recommend both, the Chinese in the town Hapoy Palace I think was called was amazing too, there is a small Tesco also in town. We will definitely be back, def recommend this lodge!

Great Stay

Having stayed at the Craig Alvah Lodge a few times now over the past years, I feel that there are several areas in which need updating. Some kitchen appliances ie Oven, fridge, freezer but especially the hob. We found it took quite a bit of time to cook meals etc.. It is a lovely house and the swimming pool is amazing and checked everyday by the owner.
