Stunning 4 bed villa with own pool, and views, on a hill near Faro, sleeps 8+1
Our villa 8 accommodates adults (plus a cot/bed for a baby/young child). It is spacious and large enough to be suitable for a group of friends or 2 families in comfort. It is a non smoking villa. There is a stunning pool with shallow and deep ends and the most amazing view towards Faro and the sea. 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms. ( 2 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and 2 bedrooms share the family bathroom). It has a stunning hilltop location between Estoi/Sao Bras de Alportel in the Central/Eastern Algarve, Portugal, an easy 12km/ 20 minutes drive from Faro airport. It is easy to get around the area, and close enough to the coast for easy access to fabulous beaches, golf courses, shopping, culture, and resorts but is also private, quiet and relaxing. The villa is not overlooked.
There are spectacular views both inland and down towards the coast to the sea from the house and pool terrace. There are three great terraces and gazebo for outdoor dining sunbathing and relaxing as well all with different aspects in sun or shade, as well as suitable for nighttime stargazing and watching the twinkling lights of Faro in the distance. All equipped with outdoor chairs, tables, sofas, sunbeds.
The villa is only a few minutes drive to the delightful small town of Sao Bras de Alportel, with its cafes and restaurants, supermarkets and all the amenities. Faro is only 20 minutes drive, and Estoi 5 minutes drive. Most of our guests hire a car to get around, but it is possible to manage with taxis.
In early 2025 the villa has had a stylish ground floor kitchen and living area renovation, so there is a now a beautiful newly renovated and air conditioned open plan ground floor new kitchen, living room, and dining area, with access onto the pool terrace. The photos show the new kitchen and some of the new living area. The brand new kitchen is well equipped with all new high quality kitchen appliances, drinks fridge, normal fridge, dishwasher, induction hob, microwave, oven, coffee maker. New Utility area with washing machine and dryer at the rear of the garage. There is also an upstairs TV lounge for living and relaxing, with a bureau desk for remote working. WIFI Internet throughout the villa is provided by Starlink. The Smart TV can receive channels from UK and Europe. All bedrooms and downstairs kitchen and living areas are air conditioned. There is also under floor heating in the downstairs kitchen, dining room, living area, and hall (courtesy of an air source heat pump) and bedrooms and bathrooms (electric). Electric gates at the entrance to the property. It is a no smoking villa.

Upstairs: Master bedroom suite (Super King size bed) with en-suite bathroom (shower, bidet, twin basins) and private terrace with table and chairs. Lounge with large L shaped sofa, digital satellite TV, VCR, DVD player, selection of films. Log burner. Bureau with Desk. Landing with pool table.
Hairdryers are provided in all bedrooms. High chair is provided.
Pool ; The lovely well maintained pool is 10 x 5m, rectangular with shallow end (about 1m deep) and deep end. The steps are inset at the shallow end. Pool cover. Pool heating is available (at 150 Euros per week) and this is normally only needed out of high season (May, early June, end September, October) as during high season the pool cover is usually enough to keep a comfortable temperature (this is not however guaranteed). The pool is used at your own risk and children must be watched at all times. Built in charcoal barbecue, and additional Gas barbecue
Garden; There are several level terraces providing shade or sun, including 3 separate outdoor dining tables and lots of garden furniture, sun-loungers and umbrellas. A shady gazebo provides a great dining space and relaxing outdoor sofa area. The well maintained garden has flowers and mature trees, and orange, lemon, fig, apple, plum, grapefruit, pomegranate, and lots of carob and olive trees, and a grapevine.
Weekly linen and towel changes included. Beach towels also provided. Water and electricity included. Gardener and weekly pool cleaning service throughout the year. The local villa management will welcome you and help you with any problems during your stay.
A (steep) 10 minute walk down the road to the main road takes you to Machados, a small village which has a bar and a simple cafe/restaurant. There is a well known established local family run restaurant on the edge of Machados. (Adega Nunes). Sao Bras de Alportel is about 4km away, less than5 mins by car. This is delightful proper town, not too touristy, with everything you might need, including banks, chemist, doctors, 5 major supermarkets, a local weekly market, and coffee shops, restaurants, including the famous Chicken Luis! Prices for eating out and general living are much lower than on the coast. Easy to reach the fabulous east Algarve beaches, golf courses, nightlife, airport, shopping, and small market towns. Why they chose this property
We had been coming to the Algarve on holiday with friends for many years, since when our children were small, and we all absolutely loved it. When the time came that we were able to buy somewhere for holidays we all chose the Algarve, and when we saw Casa Alfarroba we loved the views, the layout, and the fabulous pool. This location is ideal - close to the airport, not far from the coast and great beaches, 5 minutes drive from Sao Bras de Alportel and lots of amenities, restaurants etc. And we all still love coming here, and our family and friends still love coming with us!
What makes this property unique
Casa Alfarroba stunned us with the lovely views, great layout, and the pool is great for all ages. The circular marble hallway and stairs make a dramatic entrance and the house and garden is big enough for a large group in comfort. The location is in the countryside but convenient for everything within a short drive- local shops, restaurants, airport, and tourist attractions.
