About this property

Playful Ravens is an elegant family home with 'heart enriching' views from most windows, it's expansive deck and hot tub. Located 12 minutes from downtown Homer, this retreat gives you quick access to everything Homer has to offer. Four spacious bedrooms give you ample privacy and room to spread out. A movie room with comfortable couch and loads of books is a great place to catch the latest Netflix, or to visit with family and friends in our four person Sauna. The kitchen is a cook's dream. All Clad pans, convection oven, and a large fridge/freezer make this a great place to cook memorable meals during your stay in Homer! Hopefully you will have luck fishing and bring home the main course yourself!!

A huge fire pit graces the side yard, perfect for a cozy bonfire around which to share drinks and memories during your time at Playful Ravens.

We call the home Playful Ravens because the air currents surrounding the bluff that this home sits on create the perfect spot for birds to soar and to play on the breezes. We regularly see Eagles, Ravens, and Hawks swirling on the updrafts.

The Master Suite has an incredibly comfortable king sized bed, a large bathroom and glass block/tiled shower area with two shower heads, a north-facing balcony large enough for sitting, plus a lovely, lofted reclining area with a love seat and chair facing the remarkable views of Homer, the Homer Spit with a flat screen Smart TV if you ever tire of the view. There is also a Water Rower rowing machine if you need to catch a quick and effective workout during your stay.

On the main floor with the Dining Room, Living Room, and Kitchen there is a bedroom with a full sized bed Murphy Bed and a full bath with a tub/shower. The lower level has two bedrooms with queen sized log frame beds, the movie room - a large room with a sleeper sofa and a wall of bookshelves, and the laundry. The lower-level bathroom has a toilet, a urinal, a sink and a shower. Our home has in floor heating and a Blaze King wood stove.

The spacious deck has an expansive view, with four adirondack chairs and a hot tub to help you enjoy it. There is also a grill located on the deck off the kitchen.

Summer visitors regularly see bear, moose, sandhill cranes, and eagles at our home.
There are lovely hiking trails only minutes away.

Stunning home with AMAZING views!

We had an amazing time in this beautiful home! It felt so comfy and cozy that we never wanted to leave! The deck with the hot tub is so relaxing at the end of the day, the kids loved relaxing it in too! We saw a Moose with 2 babies right off of the deck on numerous occasions. This home had plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy! Paula and Becky were great to work with! They checked in with me a couple times to make sure everything was going well. We all hope to be back soon!

Gorgeous views!

We were very happy with our stay. The house is as advertised. Keep in mind that the master is a loft, no doors for privacy or blackout shades for the long days. Everything was great, even when we needed batteries for the tv remote, manager showed up with new ones. 👍 The view could not be any better, gorgeous!!

Beautiful Glacier Mountain View

From the minute we walked into this beautiful cabin we felt at home. We had been on the road for over a week staying in random hotels and frightening places. We felt like we won the jackpot! Everything we could possibly want was right there!! We just brought in groceries and prepared wonderful meals in the fully stocked kitchen. My 5 sisters and me ranging in age from 72-59 were so comfortable everywhere we sat. We spent most of our days and evenings on the beautiful deck overlooking the most beautiful glacier mountains. The amount of photos I took was incredible. Every last one more beautiful than the next. I loved that sunset was not until after 11 every night. I was nervous to use hot tub as I thought it would be hard to open and close even though the directions were very clear. What a mistake!! We could have spent so much time in there!! What a glorious time was spent in there looking at the mountains. Any question I had was very quickly answered. Thank you, I can’t wait to come back again!

Beautiful Alaskan style!

I like it when something can be beautiful without looking like it's in competition with the beauty around it. This home is indeed beautiful but blends with the stunning landscape. We enjoyed the comfort of this home and the breathtaking view. This trip was exactly what we'd hoped for. We will definitely stay here again.

House is amazing

The house was amazing. Kitchen stocked with all equipment you might need. Hot tub big and relaxing. Greeted by a moose and her babies one day in the driveway. Fishing and bear watching, even with rain, were fun and great. Birdwatching was good.

We are an Alaskan Commercial Fishing family. We spend our summers on Chisik Island fishing for Salmon which leaves our lovely home open to share with visitors like you!
During the winter Jon is a teacher at a local public school. Paula is a Norwex Independent Consultant and does fund raising for local schools and organizations. We are truly honored to share our special piece of Homer Alaska with you.

Why they chose this property

For eight years we drove past this home on our way home. We lived 'off the grid' on 10 acres with many animals in a beautiful timber frame home, hauling our water. When we returned home from fishing, this home that we had passed so many times was up for sale. After taking a tour, we were hooked! Spectacular views, so much space for our growing family, and closer to town so our kids could enjoy more of the opportunities Homer offers. It has been a terrific move for us.

This property and home have drawn our eyes for years. Once this home graced the cover of Alaska magazine.
This is an incredibly well-built and lovely home. The yellow cedar logs that create the home were harvested in British Columbia and hauled up the Alcan Highway. The interior walls are so warm and inviting as well as a little challenging to hang art on :-)
The entire front wall of the home is eight windows and a sliding glass door - the view here is truly part of the home. We never tire of gazing at the mountains and glaciers across Kachemak Bay. Watching the Homer Spit, Homer, and the Homer Airport as the sunset finishes and the many lights of town come on.

Soaking in the 104 degree hot tub gazing at Northern Lights is one of our favorite pastimes and there are plenty of stars and satellites to watch for if it is not Northern Lights Season.

What makes this property unique

Playful Ravens will allow you to feel completely comfortable and at ease while you are on your trip. Comfy furniture, cozy beds, and the spectacular deck to watch the sunset from (one of our favorite past times).

The entire glorious package is just minutes away from downtown Homer. Twelve to be exact, and those twelve minutes of driving are beautiful! We see Moose, Porcupine, Eagles, Ravens, Hawks, Owls, and Lynx on our way to town. And that is just the Wildlife... the expansive views driving down the hill are delightful.

The deck, fire pit, sauna, and hot tub are very special parts of this home... great places to make memories with family and friends!

This is our home and Jon is an excellent chef. There are loads of kitchen appliances and tools so you can create incredible meals to share with you family and friends.
