About this property

Luxury Family Villa Overlooking 1st green of VilaSol golf, large pool and bar!

Recently modernised to a high standard is this 4 bedroom luxury family villa which boasts views of the first green of Vila Sol golf course. This 27 hole, (3 x 9) golf course has hosted the Portuguese Open on a number of occasions.

It is just a 20 minute drive from Faro airport, with Vilamoura only a five minute drive away which offers a choice of 5 golf courses plus all the amenities, bars and restaurants available at Vilamoura Marina complex.

It has two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. We can push the twin beds together however due to the design of the beds they won't sit flush together so it won't make a true double bed. It comes with a large heated pool (additional charges apply - not heated in july or august) and in the large garden an outdoor thatched bar, with a comfortable shaded seating area. Fully equipped for families with 2 high chairs, 1 wooden cot with cot duvet and pillow, 2 travel cots for babies, 1 travel play pen, children's crockery and cutlery at no extra charge. We also have a children's toilet seat and step for toddlers as well as a baby bath. It has an outdoor games area to the side of the villa which includes table tennis and darts. The garden also has a football goal and swing ball for the children to enjoy! The villa is fully equipped with Wifi and a TV, offering a wide range of channels including English/Sky channels. It is also air conditioned in all bedrooms and has an alarm system and safe.

Within walking distance are the resort's restaurants, English style pub, shops, and golf clubhouse. There is also a health spa offering a wide choice of treatments. It is close to the sandy beaches of Quarteira, Vilamoura and Val de Lobo. 2km away from the Villa families can enjoy the Aquashow water park and we would highly recommend a trip to Quinta da lago lake where they have an array of water sports for all the family to enjoy! We recommend hiring a car so you can explore what this beautiful area has to offer. There are two large supermarkets very close by, as well as the local shop in Vila sol resort which sells essential items.

This is a very large, relaxing villa, with wonderful views of the golf course. It has several outdoor seating areas, including a covered terrace and balconies with loungers and table and chairs, perfect for watching the sun go down while sipping a g&t!

We have recently had a thatched outdoor bar area built with plenty of space to escape the midday sun whilst watching the whole family enjoying the pool and garden area .
Also to the side of the bar is a 4 hole putting green for all those avid players and those who just fancy having a go.

A new patio extension to the side of the villa has been added with a ping pong table and darts board. All the equipment needed is supplied.

You will be greeted upon arrival (4pm check in) and shown around the Villa to make sure you are happy with how everything works. You will also be provided with a complimentary welcome pack (for stays of a week and over). Maid service will be once a week, therefore if you are here for a week they will come after you have left, and if you are here for two weeks they will come at the end of your first week.

In peak times we can only accept reservations from Saturday to Saturday. Please ask us though if you would prefer another day and we will see what we can do.

Absolutely stunning and excellent facilities for families.

Amazing villa!

We stayed at this villa with some friends and absolutely loved it. It has everything you could possibly need - 4 large double / twin bedrooms each with en-suites, a large well-equipped kitchen, spacious lounge and dining room, lovely seating and dining areas outside, great pool area and even an outside bar! It is situated within walking distance of some really good restaurants and is only a taxi ride away from Vilamoura. We would highly recommend this villa.

Fabulous villa!

Just back from another amazing week at Casa Barklee. The villa is luxurious, spacious and well-equipped. All four bedrooms are lovely and there’s a big kitchen and lounge. The outdoor space is wonderful - with a large pool, sun beds, sofas and a fab bar! It’s located near bars, cafes and restaurants, and it’s a short drive to Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo. Recommend eating at Wine Bistro which is within walking distance of the villa.

Great Place

Stayed from 20-27 June with my partner, friends and their 2 kids. Wonderful place, clean and tidy, lots to do with the pool, golf putting green, table tennis and darts, so kids (and us) always amused. Effectively, the villa is on an up-market complex with nice restaurants within 10 minutes walk, so very convenient. Communication with the owner (Craig) and the management team was always spot on. Excellent villa in the Algarve

We had an absolutely wonderful holiday in Casa Barklee, Vila Sol. The villa is even more spacious than the photographs suggest and very well equipped. The pool, putting green and table tennis were all great successes with our family. Very easy walking distance to several excellent restaurants and local pub. Craig and Kate were wonderful hosts, always promptly answering any of our queries and in such a friendly and welcoming manner. We would highly recommend Casa Barklee and we as a family would love to return at a future date.

Amazing Villa exceeds expectations

We stayed here in June 23. My wife and I, 2 kids (7&2) and two grandparents. This villa is exceptional. The location is great with some nice coffee shops and restauraunts within 10 mins walking distance or the Vilamoura marina is less than 10 mins drive for everything that has to offer. The owners, Kate and Craig, are really friendly and gave us all the information we would need before we arrived and from their communication made us really feel welcome in their home. You can really tell that this is a familys home that you are being allowed to stay in. It was really a pleasure to spend time in this house. The outside area with pool is fantastic and gets the sun all day long. The bbq is huge and we had many fun competitions on the putting green. The lounge area and bedrooms are super comfortable. Really it is hard to put into words how good this villa is. It really exceeded our expectations on every level. The pictures on the website are great yet dont really do this villa justice. A fantastic villa which we hope to be able to stay again in the future.

A beautiful and comfortable home with very thoughtful owners

After a lot of deliberation we chose this property for our first trip to the area, and we were delighted with our choice. The house is large, even larger than it appears in the photos, beautifully appointed and has a wonderful pool. As we were visiting in October we paid for pool heating, which took the pool to a very comfortable temperature, around 29/30°c, perfect for messing about on those lazy days in the sunshine. There were plenty of pool towels too. We made less use of the bbq than we expected, mainly because we ate out, but it was used a couple of times and was fine. Perhaps a bug zapper would be helpful for outdoor eating though. The kitchen is very well equipped, with 2 fridge freezers and 2 dishwashers being a real bonus. Pretty much everything you need is here, both in the kitchen and elsewhere in the house. The only thing we could have done with but couldn’t find was a beach umbrella for our days on the beach - there are a number of large parasols around the pool but not a small one for the beach. The layout of the house works well, with two bedrooms upstairs and two down. The area felt very safe for small children and the property is well fenced, with electric gates. The local supermarkets are only minutes away by car and are decent for all needs. We weren’t able to go to Wildfire to eat, as it was closed (whether due to the season or to Covid we’re not sure), but we did eat at the Wine Bistro on Vila Sol and it was very good. We ate at the Vilamoura Marina, but it felt a little too ‘British’ for us. We preferred Julia’s Restaurant, one of a few restaurants at Praia do Garrao, which we unfortunately discovered too late on in our week. We had a lovely lunch there, overlooking the beach, ideal if you want to while away a few hours while your children play on the beach next to you. And an amazing sunset over the sea. Finally, thank you to Craig and Kate for your help throughout the process. It’s so nice to have such responsive and friendly hosts and really makes a difference to the whole experience.

AMAZING CASA BARKLEE

Our group of 7 ladies booked this villa for our big birthday in 2021, as one of our party lived in Ireland and couldn’t travel due to Covid, Craig and Kate, the owners, simply let us change to 2022 with no hassle and lots of help. When we arrived at the villa it took our breath away it was everything we wanted and more. The pictures don’t do it justice it was amazing. The villa is in a fantastic location for any golfers and Vilamoura is only 15 minutes away by car. Everything was so well equipped from the kitchen to the outside bar and BBQ Craig and Kate were quick to answer any questions we had and to offer advice on things to do, such as a masseur to come to the villa for us, unfortunately we run out of time this year. We enjoyed our stay so much we look forward to returning soon. A big thank you to Craig and Kate our holiday was amazing and very special.

Winter an der Algarve

Wir haben mit 7 Erwachsenen 11 Tage in der schönen Villa Casa Barkley verbracht. Für 7 Personen ist das Haus geräumig und voll ausgestattet. Das Wetter war sehr schön und tagsüber warm. Wenn die Sonne untergegangen war hat uns die Fußbodenheizung mit angenehmen Temperaturen im Haus versorgt. Der Pool ist groß, hat eine gute Abdeckung und eine starke Heizung. Besonders angenehm sind die große Küche und das Wohnzimmer wo sich alle treffen können. Der Garten ist umzäunt so dass man sich sicher fühlen kann. Auf dem Golfplatz Vila Sol konnten wir war ab mittags spontan spielen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen sehr entspannten Urlaub in der Villa und können einen Aufenthalt dort sehr empfehlen. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft

Fabulous Villa

We had a truly wonderful holiday in Casa Barklee. The villa is just beautiful, newly updated and maintained to a very high standard. The furnishings are extremely comfortable, high quality and create a fabulous quality home from home. Everything needed is provided, you can relax in the shade on the terrace, sunbath on the comfortable sun loungers with a drink on the side tables, or enjoy a spot of sport, golf, darts, table tennis and more. The kitchen, dinning and sitting rooms open out onto the pool, so everyone can enjoy the villa in their own way whilst staying together. The views over the golf course are beautiful and the adjoining pool house makes a wonderful addition day or evening. The location is great, take a short stroll for a morning paper or enjoy breakfast / lunch in the lovely cafes or dine in one of the high quality restaurants. Kate is extremely helpful and plenty of information was provided in the handbook, with restaurant recommendations and activity ideas and locations. We are already booked for next year!

60th Birthday Celebration Birthday

Four couples stayed from 10th August 2019 to 17th August 2019, the villa is perfect, if you’re looking for a relaxed week then I would definitely stay here, very quiet, a short walk to a couple of shops and restaurants and only a 15 minute journey to the Marina, which is lovely. The villa has everything you will need to have a lovely holiday, from booking to arriving was effortless. I would recommend this villa 100%

Perfect for a golf week with 4 friends.

Casa Barklee is spacious, recently updated and comfortable. We were a party of 4 college friends some 40 years after graduation. We cooked breakfast in the very large and well equipped kitchen and ate out most other meals. The living room is large and cozy; we watched the Masters final and usually had cocktails there. The bedrooms are comfortable and the master bedroom is very large and comfortable. I drew the lucky straw. The villa is inside the Vila Sol golf course complex. We walked up the first tee fairway each evening for putting and chipping contests. Very easy to find good restaurants and excellent golf all within 5-20 minutes. Kate was accessible when we had cable TV issues but they were easily resolved with a reboot. Pool is perfect size for exercise. We would come back again.

The villa was stunning and had everything you could wish for. Great for a family with kids as a good sized pool, football net, table tennis , mini putting green and darts board ! Great for adults too, as a separate 'bar barn ' in the garden with sofas and bar area for entertaining. The local restaurants are super near the villa also. Would highly recommend this Villa to anyone looking for a family friendly holiday.

Why they chose this property

We started looking for a villa a couple of years ago, we researched a great deal into which area would be best for us and then went about viewing an array of villas. We eventually found our one and have now renamed it Casa Barklee (a mixture of our names) and have turned it into our wonderful second home. Everything about this villa is so relaxing. We love nothing more than spending time outside by the pool with our friends and family.

What makes this property unique

It has wonderful views of the golf course. The Vila sol estate is so secure and friendly, with a lovely choice of restaurants within walking distance. Children are kept entertained with the pool, ping pong table, football goal and putting green.
