Bengal House is an adorable 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage just steps from the Atlantic Ocean Beach. It is a short golf cart ride into the town of New Plymouth or to a public dock in Black Sound.

On the first floor there is an open kitchen, dining and living area as well as a TV room and a bathroom with shower. The living room has a futon for extra sleeping for two people. The kitchen is fully equipped with full sized fridge, electric stove, microwave, toaster, coffer maker and toaster oven. On the second floor there are two bedrooms and one bathroom with shower.

Both bedrooms have a dormer window with window seat where you can sit and look out at the beautiful blue ocean or read a book. One bedroom has a king sized bed and the other has a trundle bed.

Amenities include hardwood floors, central air, ceiling fans in each room, high-speed wifi internet, cable TV, DVD player (bring your own DVD's) and a selection of books. Washer/Dryer available for stays longer than a week. Pet friendly. Smoking is not permitted. On site automatic generator.

Our stay at the Bengel House was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we booked, the hosts were incredibly communicative, quick to respond, thoughtful, and eager to make sure we had a great experience. They went above and beyond with helpful tips about the island, restaurants and sightseeing recommendations. The house itself was spotless when we arrived and clearly very well cared for. One of the best stocked guest houses I have stayed in with plenty of kitchen supplies.The location is ideal, convenient to both sides of the island, walking distance to the lovely Seagrapes cafe and liquor store, and right across the street from a great beach to watch the sunrise from. Green Turtle seems to very a very tight-knit community and having guidance from locals made the trip extra special. We would absolutely stay at Bengel House again and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting Green Turtle Cay.

Bengal house is exactly as pictured. Wonderful location, clean and well stocked. Henrik lives next door to the cottage and was very helpful and quickly responded to every question. Air conditioners and generator work well. Beach is one minute away.

Henrik and Myra are excellent hosts - they met us at the dock, organised a golf cart hire for us and gave us a tour of the town before bringing us to Bengal Cottage. The property was everything we had hoped for and is in a superb location on a beautiful island. When we return to The Bahamas we will spend more time on GTC.

Great Stay!

Henrik and Myra were great hosts! We ended up on an earlier ferry than we originally planned and they graciously accommodated our early arrival. The property was located close to town and a secluded beach. I recommend renting a golf cart as it was the perfect way to get around GTC. We enjoyed every minute of our time in this little slice of paradise and would definitely like to return! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Bengal Cottage to friends and family!

Charming oceanside cottage

We could hear the Atlantic and see the blue waters of Bita Bay at this charming two bedroom cottage in Green Turtle Cay. The cottage had all the anemities to make our stay comfortable and effortless. The beds were extremely comfortable as well as the futon, and the rooms were bright and airy with palm treem views and a smart TV for down time! Myra and Henrick are extremely knowledgeable about everything to do and see in Green Turtle Cay and were accomodating and helpful. Kudos to the Bengal House!

Cozy Cottage.

We had a great time at the Bengal House on Green Turtle Cay. Mira and Henrik were fabulous hosts. They worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. Mira picked us up from the dock and helped us get our cart and drove us to the cottage. She gave us a tour of the town and a brief history. The cottage is the perfect size. A small kitchen/family room and a sun room/tv room, including a bathroom on the main floor. The upstairs has a bathroom and two bedrooms. It is a nice stroll to the beach. It has great internet, when a boater doesn't accidentally cut the cable. They have air conditioning an heat. Great value. Basically everything on the island is brought over on a ferry, this makes things rather expensive. We knew that in advance and brought some basic's with us. Pasta, pesto, spices, oatmeal, power bars, etc. You can bring frozen meat and by the time you get there, you can put it in your fridge. We brought some frozen sliced turkey and ham, they were great for sandwiches. We also brought frozen shredded pork and whole wheat tortilla's. We ate at a few of the restaurants, which was fun. It is a great place to relax and enjoy life.

Perfect accommodation

This charming cottage is perfect for adults and 2 kids, or 3 adults. The only thing you need to bring are your beach towels! Check in first before going shopping, as most of the basics are probably there. Three Kalik beers awaited us! Last but certainly not least, Myra and Henrich were the best hosts possible. They know everything about the Cay, including how to get the band at Pineapples to let you play the bongo drums (if you are cool). Make sure you let them know when you are arriving and they'll help you with luggage, if possible! Overall, the perfect place to stay.

A fun time was had by all!

I loved this cottage from the moment I walked into it. The furniture is comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious. The beach is just a walk across the street and town a short golf cart ride away. The location is great for visiting town, restaurants, the dive center, the beach or just sitting on the porch and relaxing. I had a wonderful stay at the Bengal Cottage and would recommend it to anyone.

we have long admired this adorable cottage & we pleased to see it enter the rental pool. we stayed for the New Year's Day celebration, called Junkanoo. our stay couldn't have been better. the cottage has everything you need for a short or long stay. clean, well stocked, comfortable and convenient. centrally located, so everything is just a pleasant golf cart ride from the little town of New Plymouth, the 2 resorts, & the various bars & restaurants. sunrise views are especially nice for early risers like me! the owners are generally on site, & love to show both new visitors & returning guests all that Green Turtle, & the surrounding areas of Abaco, has to offer.

Bengal House Cottage is the best!

I love staying on Green Turtle and I love Bengal Cottage. It is right in the middle of the island so town is not far and neither is the Green Turtle Club. I dive so it is just a short trip to Brendal's by the Club for diving. The caretakers are awesome. The Atlantic ocean is just across the street. I walk out in my pajamas in the morning with coffee and watch the sunrise over the sea. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. Just bring your bathing suit :) I own a villa on Treasure but spend more time on Green Turtle in the cottage!

We love Bengal Cottage, we've stayed several times and our upcoming trip for 3 weeks will be spent there. The location of the cottage is perfect, almost in the middle of the island so everything is close by. You are just steps away from one the many beautiful beaches and a short beach walk to Gilliam Bay. We have been going to Green Turtle for 8 years now and the island has so much to offer from the wonderful locals on the island, and the variety of beaches, bars, food, and fun for all ages. The owners are great and though we haven't had any issues or problems, I am certain that they can accommodate should something arise. I would certainly recommend this property and anticipate returning again at Christmas time.

We fell in love with Green Turtle Cay in the 1990s and kept coming back on vacations, trying to make them longer and more frequent over the years.

What makes this property unique

The island has plenty of activities for everyone that likes the island outdoors. Fishing (deep sea, reef and fly/bone), Diving (Platinum pro instructor on the cay), Boating (several rental boat companies available), Exploring (Beautiful beaches and you often have them to yourself) and the historical village of New Plymouth. The island has several restaurants, bars and grocery stores.
