Centrally located house in Nokomis

Owner lives onsite in an adjacent property and she was very responsive each time a maintenance issue arose. The house is older, but electrical and plumbing issues aside, it was a nice retreat from the winter snow back home. We enjoyed sitting on the pier and watching the sunrise. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance of the house. The home is centrally located to both Venice Beach and Nokomis Beach with everything we needed just a quick drive away. It was an easy drive to both Ft Myers and Punta Gorda airports.

The perfect combination of beauty and comfort in a great location

This house has it all: lovely and interesting decor, great layout, fully equipped kitchen and baths, and waterfront location near everything we cared to do and see. Bigger inside than it looks from the outside and very well designed, the house spaciously and comfortably accommodated two couples, with a third bedroom (queen bed) to spare. We grilled on the landscaped patio, rented bikes (the fabulous Legacy Trail is just a 5-minute bike ride away), took sunset walks around the very safe neighborhood, and rented a double kayak for a week at Jetty Kayaks (delivered to our dock) . Some of the best restaurants in the area are within blocks, including a great local fish store; others are a 5-minute drive into Venice. World- class Nokomis beach is an easy bike ride or 7-minute drive. The owner, Lucy, was available at every step, although everything was so well done that we didn't need more than advice about putting in a double kayak. Highly recommended!

Perfect location

House is great for boat owners or boat renters. Just minutes from the gulf and right on Roberts Bay. We have a 22' Bay boat, in good conditions we could run to the gulf and on rough days we could head South to Lemon Bay via the inter coastal. Water and electric on the dock. Just 2 blocks from Captain Eddie's for lunch or dinner. Minutes away from Pop's if you want to travel by boat to lunch or dinner. Great place to be right on the water. Lucy May was a wonderful host and helpful.

Nice Stay

Lucy was really great to work with. The house is tired but a great location. Lucy is working hard to keep the maintenance up but you can tell its a struggle. For needs it wasn't an issue.

Not a good experience

This property is for sale, potentially with a purchase pending. To that end I feel the homeowner has given up on a quality stay, or her standards are low to begin with. There were additional renters on the property. The closets and cabinets were full of the homeowner’s clothes, makeup and medicines. Left a day early due to the peculiar conditions

Long weekend near Sarasota

Very interesting and eclectic property on the bay and close to good restaurants. Each bedroom was in a corner of the house, which gave more privacy sleeping. The showers were only in the bathrooms off two of the bedrooms, but sharing was not an issue with us. The view of the bay was the best part. The only drawback worth mentioning was limited air conditioning circulation. Ceiling fans in each room helped, but the fan in one bedroom did not work. There were a couple of portable fans in the house that were repositioned to cool the room at night.

Great vacation home

This house is in a wonderful location, right across a quiet street from the water, with a dock to enjoy. The neighborhood is peaceful and lovely for walking, and close to restaurants. We loved sitting out on the dock and watching the birds, jumping fish and boats go by. There is a nice sitting area at the end of the dock, perfect for evening cocktails or meals. It is also a very short drive into downtown Venice and to Nakomis Beach. The open floor plan gave everyone in our family plenty of room to relax. We really loved the house and it’s fun decor! Any issues that came up were immediately dealt with by the owner, Lucy. She was great to work with! The dock and property are shared with a small, one bedroom rental unit that is located behind the house. However, this did not impact our stay at all. The house is located very near Tamiami Trial, and you can hear some of the traffic. But we did not find it to be a problem, and were still able to really enjoy the dock! Overall, we loved staying here and hope to come back next year! We had a great vacation.

The property was in a great location. We were able to walk to a few different restaurants and it was a quick drive to other area attractions and shops. The big kitchen and spacious house provided us with a comfortable environment for entertaining my relatives whom we came to visit. And Lucy was a fabulous host, very accommodating and responsive.

My home was affected by the hurricanes. three areas have been refurbished to accommodate myself and two couples. We are petfriendly, please inquire,
The private backyard is equip with a bar-b-q- and shaded areas, however, you have your own seating/lounging/dining area by your door. It is also fenced off so your fur babies can join in.
The waterfront and 50 ft dock is shared, with several seating areas for your enjoyment, watching sunsets , enjoy your beverage and relax or watch the activate, birds of all kinds, sometimes a dolphin or two!

What makes this property unique

This home is located in an area for enjoyable walking, bike riding, to many waterfront eatery's and the Island of Venice for shopping, dining or a stroll to the beaches, while having views of the waterfront.
