About this property
A Log House on a Sand Beach
This is a 2100 sq. ft. log home on the shore of Green Bay across from Door County, Wisconsin. We look at it from the porch. What we have is a modern, fully furnished home that sits right on the beach in Cedarville Township, Mi. directly across from Gills Rock. The beach is all sand and one can walk for miles in either direction. I know a lot of owners tack on a bunch of fees. Our price has stayed the same sine 1998. Debbie, our cleaner charges 100.00 and she spends 3 to 4 hours doing it. I’m sorry the web site charges so much, but there’s not much I can do about it. There are sand bars out front in the water, the water is very warm and crystal clear. There is a municipal harbor and boat ramp 4 miles down the road and very good fishing at the same place. The area is rural and the vista off the lake side porch is quite grand. The home is fully prepared for your visit. However, you do have to bring your own towels, paper products (Toilet tissue/paper towels), and sheets. We furnish everything you might need except food. We have not had very good luck with dogs so we likely wont accept one. There a 3 external cameras. Rear exterior wall facing driveway and garage. Dormer facing beach. Rear porch facing lake and sitting area. 2 Inside cameras. Dining room window facing neighbors house (Security) and living room unplugged. Cameras are for off season use not activated when rented. There is a 100.00 cleaning fee. Just leave it on the counter when you check out. Check in is now 4:00 pm

We had a wonderful stay and the kids loved having the lake right out our door! House and amenities were just what we needed for our U.P. stay. Mike was a great communicator, and was readily available when questions arose.
Great place right on the shores of GB. Our stay consisted of fishing, fishing, and fishing, so proximity to cedar river boat ramp and restaurant/bar close was perfect. Oh, the hummingbirds on the deck was fun to watch!
We enjoyed the beach and the sound of the gentle lapping waves. Cabin is about 25 minutes from Escanaba and 30 minutes to Menominee. So restaurants and groceries are not far. Cabin had everything we needed. Thank you for hosting us.
We had a great week of fun and relaxation. Everything we needed was there and the cabin was clean. The view of the lake was amazing and the beach was nice too. We had a great time swimming in Lake Michigan without the crowds. There was also a lot to see just a short drive away. The owner was always responsive and kind. Thank you so much for letting us stay!!

Thank you for your kind thoughts.
My cleaner was impressed how clean you left the property.
Thanks again.

Michael has a great property. The beach was for great for walking as well as appropriate for younger children (shallow water ) The cabin was very clean - perfect cabin with all the amenities for a couple or small family and set up with excellent Internet as well as tv options as one might need. Fires in the beach at night were fantastic. Michael was always available and accommodating to our requests / needs. Definitely would reserve again.
The cabin is located in a beautiful, isolated spot with an amazing view of the lake. The space is very clean and comfortable. The beaches are pristine and the water in late June was perfect for swimming with the kids. Mike is a great host, extremely welcoming and communicative.
Our family had a great time, beautiful beach, location and home! The owner was very kind and easy to work with. We highly recommend this location!

I stayed in my own house..
There was some winter clean up to do and I had to cook my own meals. Would be nice if this stupid site would let one block out his own use. I am not relisting my house on this site as it generally is run as a profit center for the suits. 600.00 a year to list and 95.00 more got the guest to book. What a total ripoff.

Lovely place, lovely view
We stayed in this lovely home for a week. The owner was very flexible with our last minute plans and was easy to work with. The house itself is beautiful! The description didn't prepare us for how lovely the home was! Everything was perfect and it was truly a pleasure to stay there. We loved watching the bald eagles and boats passing by with the binoculars provided by the owner. The beach is close for a quick breath of fresh air but there are many beautiful areas within a manageable drive--one especially beautiful area is the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore which is about an hour an a half north of this cabin. Well worth the drive! The entire experience was a perfect getaway for a busy family. We felt at home and relaxed. Definitely would like to return!

Relaxing beach vacation
We had a very nice stay last year at "Bobby Sands". I would say the only negative was that it was a little close to the road and when we first pulled up, the exterior looked a little worn compared to the pictures. But keeping an open mind and exploring the wonderfully kept up interior I began to relax as the kids and I enjoyed a wonderful beach and a very comfortable home. It had all the comforts of home plus a beautiful view and wonderful master suite with a staircase that overlooked the main living room. There was wifi access and the owner was very helpful when I had questions and had car trouble he helped me find a place in town. He was very accessible through e-mail throughout our trip and let us use beach chairs and beach toys during our stay. We loved it! The kids have a wonderful memory of our vacation and it makes me want to continue to explore the wonderful beaches of Lake Michigan!:)

The exterior is not worn. The summer before the entire house was ground down bare wood and then re-finished. It looks better than the day it first went up 10 years ago. It took us 200 hours to do it. I am devastated.
About the host
Hosted by Michael Brennan
I built this house in 2000 when I lived in Wisconsin and the home was with in a convenient driving distance. Since then we hvave move around a bit and now live in Williamsburg, Va. We use the house in the summer and let it out when we take vacations while here. Thus it really only available a few weeks a year.
Why they chose this property
Except for sheets and towels and your paper product needs the house is fully furnished and the kitchen is loaded with all the applicances and equipment you might have in your own home. This is not a rental cabin, it's a home set up for year round use.
What makes this property unique
You just walk out the front door, cross the grass and step onto the beach. There is no other place like this anywhere.
