Andy's View- Enjoy a quiet mountain getaway near Franklin, North Carolina

Located just six miles west of Franklin, this house in the southern Appalachaian mountains is a great getaway for a weekend, a week or even a season. This was our family home for over 20 years. It has recently been remodeled with fresh paint, hard-wood floors in the living area and new carpet in the bedrooms. The view from the front deck is absolutely fabulous and creates a sense of openness that really sets this house apart from many mountain rentals. Easy access is a rare and added bonus. (only 1 minute off of U.S. 64)
The house is completely furnished, including tableware, bed linens, towels, etc. . The living room is furnished in navy blue leather. Sleeping accommodations for up to 6 people are available (additional charge of $10/guest/night for 3 or more.) If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the mountains in a clean and comfortable home with room for the entire family, this is the place. We do not solicit comments for this site from our guests but we often receive notes or cards at check out and have recently added a few of those comments to this site. Over half of our business comes from guests who return year after year. We take pride not only in the house but in making our guests feel welcome and at home.

Home and location were perfect for our stay, Communication with the owners was amazing! We felt right at home. The views were so beautiful and peaceful. Would not hesitate to book again if we are in the area. We felt very blessed to enjoy a few days at this beautiful property.

Great place

Five of us came up for a motorcycle trip. The cabin is located in a central location for a lot of great rides. The property was beautiful and the cabin was wonderful. Gary was easy to communicate with.

Perfect!

Everything was just as stated. Super clean and very comfortable beds. Great cookware to prepare meals or great restaurants nearby. Very comfortable layout for us. Very peaceful and quiet neighborhood.beautiful sunrises every morning. Great hosts who checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent Experience!

Would highly recommend staying here if you want a quiet, comfortable getaway with an awesome view. After hiking all day, it was the perfect place to come back to and relax. Enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the birds and the brook. Owners very attentive and accommodating.

Clean and great location

The location and view were perfect. Hours away from major cities. We headed to Helen, Pigeon Forge, Blairsville, Hiawassee, and Cherokee. All were in close proximity to the house. The views were amazing. There was a creek down below the house you could hear while relaxing on the porch. I have rented from VRBO for many years but have never had the renters reach out to us before we got to the location to see if we needed anything. It made us feel so special. The home was immaculately clean. Appreciate everything and hope to come back for a different season.

Beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and the property was amazing. The owners were very sweet and informative. We usually won’t stay the same place twice, but I would love to come back here. It is also a very central location to use as a home base to visit all of the fun places in the mountains. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

East Valley of Hills & Corn

Our stay was peaceful, quiet and very serene just as we had hoped. The deer and Hummingbirds entertained us each afternoon sitting on the porch after wonderful motorcycle rides and hikes. The home was very comfortable with all of the amenities of home. The upstairs shower was a challenge in its size, but the downstairs shower was very good. Gary was a great host and very accommodating. We would stay with him again given the opportunity.

Outstanding view

The rental was very clean. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The mountain views were amazing we liked listening to the cows and bull frogs. The hosts provided many amenities in case you forgot something from home. You could see the mountains from sitting in the living room. The only thing that we would change would be the main floor's shower. We felt it was a tighter space but there is a full bath downstairs.

Everything you need to get out of the city!

Wonderful location and property when you need to get out in the country! Stop at the grocery store on your way and once your here it is like your at home. I can’t imagine you needing anything that is not already here! Great owners and a great place

Mountain House Getaway

This listing is superb. Located nicely for an easy drive to waterfalls, hiking and biking trails, fishing and just a short drive to Franklin for city activities. Super clean property and the house has all you need for grilling and cooking. The best part is the long front deck to enjoy AM coffee as well as retire with a nightcap!

Excellent place! Amazing view! We we're there Aug 19-23.The people are so nice in Franklin NC. Hadn't been disappointed yet. The house was very homey the pictures don't do it justice! Great little getaway

This listing is amazing! The owners go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for a fun-filled trip. We could have stayed there the whole time between fishing and playing in the creek! It’s very family friendly. I highly recommend and will definitely be going back!!!!!!!

Mountains galore

It was everything we needed for the perfect get-away-from-it all. Easily accessible. Clean. Comfortable. A plus for us is a comfy recliner and this awesome house had plenty. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare our meals. And the view from the porch was enough to make us want to sit out there with our coffee and just bask in the glorious morning mountain view.

Very Nice Home

We stayed at this home May 13 - May 17, 2019. The owner met us there and showed us around and gave us a key. We were having trouble with our truck, so he even called a local garage and then we followed him there. He went above and beyond to help us get our truck fixed quickly. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. The views from the front deck were fantastic. The house is located about 5 miles from the center of town, but very easy access. Our only issue was with the upstairs shower. It was great, but just too small. Other than that, everything was perfect, and I would definitely recommend this home.

Fabulous view and hospitality

The house and view are fabulous. Was in town for a family visit over Christmas and needed a place to call home for a few days. The mountain getaway was easy to find and get to. There is a private bedroom and bath on the lower level. 2 bedrooms with bathroom on the upper level which also includes the kitchen, dining, and living area in an open concept plan. Ample porch off of this level overlooking valley. Close to everything Franklin area has to offer. Hosts are very accommodating and responsive. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I moved to the Franklin area in 1984 and have served in the Macon County School system ever since. I am a retired principal and have returned to my first love, classroom teaching, at Macon Early College in Franklin. Laura teaches 4th grade at Cartoogechaye Elementary School. We both still find the teaching profession extremely rewarding and feel fortunate to have worked our entire careers in one system.
We both enjoy our summers and spend a great deal of time working at the rental property which we've just expanded with the purchase of some adjacent acreage.

Why they chose this property

This property is unique in a couple of ways. The view overlooking the old Killian farm and the mountains beyond is simply beautiful. Andy's View is easily accessible, located on Setser Road only a minute off of U.S. 64 West. The driveway is paved all the way to a covered carport. The owners take special pride in keeping the house spotlessly clean and the grounds well maintained.

What makes this property unique

The view, the accessibility, and the convenience to the Nantahala National Forest (only 5 minutes away) and the Appalachian Trail (only 7 minutes away) add to the uniqueness of Andy's View. The tiny, beautiful and soothingly tranquil Saint John's Episcopal Church is only a short walk away.
