Chamonix. Les Houches Apartment for rent 4 to 6 people

The apartment is ideally located on the ground floor.It has one double bedroom and one bedroom with bunkbeds. The comfortable lounge area also benefits from one pull-out double bed. The lounge leads to the private patio and communal garden, which are particularly pleasant throughout the seasons. The bathroom fitted with shower and WC has been entirely refurbished in October 2010.There is a separate additional WC. The apartment is conveniently positioned between the main ski-lifts (approx. 500 metres) and the nursery slopes (approx. 200 metres) and a short walk to either. It is also ideally situated in the centre of Les Houches, a few metres from the regular free bus, which serves the best ski areas within the Chamonix valley. It is within a minute of the tourist office, main square,shops (incl. supermarket) bars/restaurants.

Skiing Les Houches: Les Houches is the largest of five separate ski areas in the Chamonix valley and was host to the world cup downhill in January 2003. The skiing is very pretty with many mini off-piste runs through the trees. It is primarily intermediate in standard although there are some pleasant and relatively easy ‘blues’ for second year skiers. It is linked to the other ski areas by a free bus service.

Chamonix valley skiing: The other ski areas in the Chamonix valley are :
Brevent/Flegere -linked by a cable car. A good mix of mainly intermediate runs with excellent views towards the Mont Blanc.
Argentiere - Legendary ski area, famous amongst advanced skiers and off-piste connoisseurs although there are blues and reds in this area.
Le Tour - Right at the top of the valley Le Tour is a wide open expanse of skiing with easy wide open pistes.
Aiguile du Midi - starting point of the spectacular off-piste (although relatively easy)itinerary down the Vallee Blanche

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans la station des Houches. L'appartement était propre à notre arrivée, très bon rapport qualité/prix! Il est bien situé, tout près de la supérette et de la boulangerie, et également du passage de la navette pour aller vers les télécabines. Cerise sur le gâteau, de la bonne neige et un super soleil toute la semaine. Nous reviendrons sûrement.

This was our 2nd visit to this property & can recommend it thoroughly. If you want simple, well located accommodation then this ticks all the boxes. Clean, tidy & comfortable. You couldn't cook a 3 course meal in the kitchen but it has a hob & microwave with grill so normal holiday food not an issue. We will be booking again for later in the year.

Ideal Stay for basic families

We’ve stayed here a few times from when the children were small to now not so little! It’s not all singing and dancing but we love it for us, you are close to the supermarket in the heart of the village, there is a bus to the lifts and the apartment has basic cooking facilities and dishwasher. There is two bedrooms and a lovely hot shower after a day on the slopes. It’s clean and comfortable, if I really had to find a negative it would be no WiFi but you can’t have it all!

Déçus par la prestation

Bonjour, Il n'y avait pas de fenêtre dans la chambre comprenant le lit double ; on sentait nettement le manque d'aération, et c'était très désagréable. De plus ce lit était très peu confortable et j'ai du dormir dans la pièce à vivre alors que mon mari dormait dans le lit double : donc nous avons fait chambre à part pendant les vacances. La petite chambre qui comporte les lits superposés avait une fenêtre qui était bloqué par les lits et s'ouvraient très peu. Cela a gâché partiellement nos vacances. Cordialement, Anne Galand

sommes ravis de cette semaine passée aux Houches ; non seulement le village est accueillant, disposant de tout pour le quotidien mais en plus, la location convient parfaitement à une famille de 4 personnes. le beau temps nous a permis de manger dehors midi et soir, ce qui rend les vacances encore plus agréables ! Logement complet, équipé tout à fait correctement pour une famille de 4. De plus, la propriétaire est à l'écoute de nos questions et facile à contacter. Nous y reviendrons si nous revenons par ici !

Très agréable séjour aux Houches

Un séjour très agréable aux Houches : l'appartement était très agréable, exactement conforme aux photos, très bien chauffé, bien organisé (nos deux petits ont adoré les lits superposés !) et situé à 5 minutes en voiture des pistes de ski ainsi que du club Piou-Piou pour les enfants. Le jardin à l'arrière nous a beaucoup plu aussi, car il faisait une jolie piste de luge. Bref, nous nous sommes régalés et nous reviendrons certainement l'an prochain dans l'appartement de M. Parker et Mme Breakell ! Famille Baillot

Joli appartement, calme très bien aménagé

Je recommande cet appartement qui est idéalement situé en plein centre des Houches, très bien équipé, calme et agréable grâce aussi à sa petite terrasse privative. Les propriétaires sont à l'étranger mais tout est bien organisé pour l'arrivée et le départ. Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances.

Ideal location and apartment

We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The apartment is ideally located 2 minutes from the tourist office, free bus stop and supermarket. There are games DVD's and puzzles to keep you amused if the weather is bad however we had great weather and went out every day! The kitchen is tiny but we were able to cook for the three of us each evening and enjoyed eating out on the patio. The only downside was there is no english TV channels to watch and as we do not speak french we had a non TV week (some might say a positive!) The bunk beds were hard however I have been assured that the mattresses have now been replaced so I would recommend this apartment to anyone who likes peace, quiet and beautiful views. The owner was exceedingly helpful and replied to my emails very prromptly.

Compact well equipped apartment

This apartment is very practical with everything required to make a pleasant stay. Ideally located between the two ski lifts in Les Houches where there is skiing for all and ideal for a family ski holiday. The bathroom has recently been updated and consists of a modern shower. The property is well maintained and excellent customer service is at hand. Having booked for our 3rd year we would totally recommend this apartment to friends and relatives. There is a supermarket very close by and restaurants and shops, there is also a very nice Takeaway Pizza kiosk within walking distance.

Perfect for us!

Thank you, we had a fabulous 2 weeks which surpassed all our expectations. The apartment is very well situated for easy travel using bus and train in the valley and taxi links to Geneva airport so there is no need for car hire. During our visit we enjoyed lots of good walking through to the Swiss border in one direction and into the spectacular limestone region above Servoz in the other. Les Houches has everything we required including supermarket, boulangerie, bars and restaurants, tourist information with internet services and daily weather forecasts all just 2 minutes from the apartment. The apartment is very clean and comfortable and a cosy relaxing place to return to after a good long day out amoungst the mountains. It is well equipped and had everything we needed. We would highly recommend the apartment and its ideal location and will most definitely return.

We had a fantastic time at Les Houches, the apartment was exactly as described and very neat and tidy with a lovely welcome pack. It is in the perfect location, 1 minute from a bar/restaurant, supermarket, tourist information, ski kire and bus stop. We loved it so much the first day back we booked again for next year. Communication with the owners was excellent and they gave us some great tips.

Excellent value for money. Superb location.

What a wonderful location and superb scenery! Excellent value for money, Les Houches and its surrounding area is stunning and this cosy apartment is nicely situated within easy reach of local amenities, including: supermarkets, shops, restaurants, public transport and ski lifts. The apartment is placed in an ideal spot for families and skiers alike. What can we say - Les Houches/Chamonix is truly beautiful. We will definitely be coming back to visit and would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to have a fabulous holiday. Thank you.
