About this property
Clean Spacious Apt. near City Park, Fairgrounds
Welcome to this listing for my apartment in the Faubourg St. John area of New Orleans, situated between City Park and the Fairgrounds, and bisected by Bayou St. John.
This is the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans outside of the French Quarter.
This house was built in the early 1940s and I am the third owner. The rental unit is the downstairs of my house. There are two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and one with a queen. The beds, linens, pillows, furniture and appliances are brand new.
If you are in the mood to cook there is a fully furnished modern kitchen. The bathroom is newly renovated with tub and shower.
Central air, wireless, 24 inch smart Television which you can stream to, Washer and Dryer, utility room, private yard as well as a screened in porch. Plenty of room for bicycle storage.
If you are not familiar with this neighborhood, you are a two minute walk from the Esplanade bus which runs to the French Quarter. You also have access to the street car at Beauregard Circle and Esplanade.
While it would be possible to sleep a large number of people in this apartment, it currently has a single bathroom. Thus, I have a four person maximum.

The apartment was wonderful - sparkling clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It is in the best neighborhood, and our host was so nice, available and attentive. We loved our stay there!
This was the perfect place to stay! The location was ideal. It was safe and convenient, a very short walk to bus that takes you to the French Quarter and beyond. We were able to walk to the quarter in less than a half hour. Host was great - very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Great space with great anew Orleans vibe. The location was great! Great restaurants nearby and close to City park. I love this area. The host was great as well. Great communication and ease of check in and check out.
Property was exactly what we needed - fenced in area for our dogs, cute screened in porch, great location! Would (and probably will) stay here next time we’re in town.
The location, facilities & host were all super! We would recommend it in a heartbeat! We had a fantastic stay & won’t hesitate to stay there if we go back to New Orleans.
Host was met us to let us in. He lives upstairs and was very available and very helpful. Location is in a quiet area, near City Park. We did not have a car and relied on public transit. Transportation time to French Quarter area took 30-45 mins. Bus stop was just a short walk away. The apt was spacious and comfortable. Loved the enclosed front porch!
Vincent was very welcoming. It turned out we actually had a mutual friend in New Orleans. My wife was raised in New Orleans, and I met her in 1972. We raised our children there until 1986. ( so we aren't tourists). The location is exactly the part of the city we wanted to be. We loved the comfortable feel of the home that was built decades ago. we very much liked the feel of that part of New Orleans.
This house was perfect for us! We walked to a couple of the neighborhood bars and restaurants. We enjoyed the screened in porch, neighbors were friendly, and we always felt safe. Vincent is very kind and easy going. We plan to stay here again when we return to NOLA.
Gorgeous house, more space than I expected, clean throughout with a nice little side yard. Canal at end of block is a nice space to walk. Neighborhood is nice & felt safe at all hours. Owner had great communication & offered local food options. Excellent stay!
Vincent's space was much larger than expected. We felt bad as we had an evening flight that delayed and after getting our rental it was after 11pm when we checked in. Vincent greeted us and showed us around. A plus was even at that time of night; parking was available in front of the house. Close to everything we did and a quiet neighborhood. Would stay again!
This property is not super fancy but for the price it worked for us. The location was near where we wanted to be. The home had no wash clothes so we had to buy some but not too big of a deal. Love the city park area!

There are plenty of wash clothes, in the bathroom with the extra towels.
The guests apparently didn’t hear what I told them when they checked in.
Furthermore, they never contacted me when they discovered the “problem”, There was no need to go buy washcloths
Vince's property is a spacious, well appointed apartment in a lovely part of New Orleans. We were all set to enjoy a special Christmas there, but nature intervened and we had to cut our trip short. Vince could not have been more understanding of our situation, and we are so grateful for his kindness and generosity. As regular visitors to New Orleans, we fully intend to book this property again. It exceeded our expectations and we look forward to having a "proper" visit there in the future.
This property is the bottom floor of a large historic home located a short walk from City Park. There, a visitor can enjoy the Art Museum and the Sculpture Garden. There also is the streetcar terminal from which trolleys depart regularly to the French Quarter. A short walk in the other direction uncovers such neighborhood treasures as a well-provisioned grocery store, several restaurants, a sports bar, and my very favorite lunch place Liuzza's By the Track, which features original New Orleans specialties. I bought some terrific gumbo and etoufee to take to my brother in Mississippi.
Vince, the owner of the property, lives upstairs and is immediately accessible.
I loved staying in this spacious home and my next trip to New Orlean will center around the availability of this property.
I really wanted to love this place because the neighborhood was amazing and the host was great, but I couldn’t because of all the pest. We found multiple dead roaches in our bedrooms, and a live one was above our bed when we woke up the next morning. There were mouse droppings in some drawers and cabinets in the kitchen.
This was the perfect get away for the family and our two dogs. It was located where it was perfect for morning or afternoon walks with the dogs along the bayou; an easy walk to the Streetcar or the bus to get into the French Quarter for our adventures. The unit had everything we needed for our family with teenagers. Our host was attentive and responsive to our needs. We would easily stay here again.
Really excellent Bayou St. John location, perfect for a quiet spot to hangout for a weekend. The new porch swing is lovely and the space has everything you need to make a meal and chill out on the porch!
We had a lovely time staying in this place! Vince was communicative and responsive, the flat was clean and cared for, and the location was perfect. We walked to City Park to grab Cafe Du Monde, hopped the street car down Canal to the French Quarter, and took the 91 bus right by the house down to Magazine. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband, 2 dogs and I stayed here for a couple of nights, and it was by far the best location! We were in walking distance to City Park, Parkway and other beer gardens/restaurants. The house was so cozy and we all felt so comfortable. Would definatly stay here again.
This is just a great place. Spacious room and everything you need. In a great area. The owner is so gracious and on site to help with anything you need. Huge kitchen with anything you need. The screened in porch is exactly where I could sit all evening. The on street parking was easy and the fenced in yard was perfect for my two old dogs. I want to stay here again. Comfortable, clean, so much character!!!!!

What makes this property unique
I consider the proximity of the Bayou St. John, City Park, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and the French Quarter to be among the unique benefits of this property.
The area is served by the new Lafitte Corridor Bike Path, as well as the street car at City Park
