About this property

A beautiful lakefront cabin!

Our beautiful log cabin is located on a safe, private beach front at Long Island Lake with a large deck and lots of comfortable living space.

It's a great place to bring the family together and reconnect with your grown kids and the grandkids! Spend your afternoon playing on the beach, enjoying an evening fire or taking on the grandkids with indoor games. 10 people can comfortably sleep with lots of space for relaxing as well. We have 1200 sq. ft on the main floor + a walkout basement with another 1200 sq. ft.

A fully equipped kitchen is available to you and the cabin has all of today's modern amenities. There is also a large barbecue as well as a fire pit for your use.

We're located about an hour and a half north of Edmonton - a half hour from Westlock. The road to our property includes only 3 km of gravel road with the balance being very well maintained paved highway.

Long Island Lake is a popular water sport lake with a public boat launch just across the lake for those who would like to bring a boat. The lake is also great for swimming and fishing.

Contact us if you don't see the dates that you're interested in. As we are retired, our schedule can be somewhat flexible. Should you be the right ones for our property, we may consider renting to you even if the time is blocked on our calendar.

Our minimum rental period is 14 days as we do live full time at the property and preparing it for rental is quite a process!

About the host

Larry and I are retired and made the huge decision to leave the city life and move to our property at Long Island Lake. Larry had worked as a power lineman and I owned my own business. I'm originally from the Jarvie area, although I moved to the city over 40 years ago. Much of my extended family still lives in the area. Larry is a born 'city boy', but has always loved the life at the lake.

We have two grown children; our daughter who lives in Vancouver and our son with his wife who live in Montreal. Most importantly, we're blessed with four grandchildren! Much of time is spent visiting them!

Why they chose this property

Our lake property was purchased when we had a young family and over the 30 plus years, we spent many fun summers here and we've always had our Christmases at the lake. Our former cabin on this location had served it's purpose and in many ways the only thing holding it together was memories, so we decided to build a new house.

During the construction of our new cabin, we realized just how much we were drawn to this place so we made the decision to sell our place in the city and permanently move to the country.

Now completely retired, Larry and I enjoy our morning coffee on the deck of our new log cabin and love it!
