Huge victorian house
We needed a few days away from jobs and the city. Very glad we booked this well appointed huge house not too far from Tappan Lake. We spent a lot of time on the porch and in the hot tub. Also spent quality time with the very friendly cat that lives nearby. He was our welcoming committee! Overall a great stay and highly recommended. Loved the little general store a short walk down the road.

Overall our stay was good. It would have been helpful to know there were very friendly cats on the property, which we are all animal lovers. However, 2 of us are allergic to cats specifically. The cleanliness of the property (inside) could be improved on, but nice stay for a quick weekend getaway.

I love Deersville. Its the Village where my grandparents were born and met and married. I grew up visiting here from Texas and moved here as soon as I could. I bought my grandparents' house, also a vacation rental (Hazel's House) and then bought this restored property last year. I love hosting and sharing Deersville with my guests.

Why they chose this property

This property was restored in the 1990's as a bed and breakfast and then a restaurant before it returned to a private residence. I have always loved this house and when it was available, I was able to purchase it and share it with you. It is quiet and has four working fireplaces, a delightful covered back patio for al fresco dining, plenty of parking for boats and cars, and large, comfortable rooms. I remodeled the farmhouse kitchen for family gatherings. It is only a two block walk down to Hazel's House and with both properties, I can rent to large groups who can stay in both houses and still enjoy Deersville, the lakes and time together.

What makes this property unique

I love the big Sugar Maples and the shady backyard surrounding the covered brick floor patio. Flowers, bird feeders and summer blend perfectly for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the porch!
