Enjoy bird watching, hiking from the front door to open beautiful surrounding open space, biking, sight seeing and if you rare lucky, an occasional bear or dear sighting. On the property, you will find a brand-new, state-of-the-art kitchen, beautiful oak floors, sensational furnishings, kids bunk and TV lounge, an outdoor fireplace, creekside dining, and an outdoor hot tub hidden among the trees. Indoor rock features, the heated-floor sunroom, and the historical, turn-of-the-century yurt provide the Stratton house with an intimate and charming aura. Come indulge in a nap in the hammocks underneath the Ponderosa pines or open a bottle of wine creekside while you relax and breath in the refreshing mountain air.

Can’t express how amazing this place is. We travelled to the area with extended family and the property comfortably fit all ten of us. Each room is special and unique and the shared common spaces ate equally inviting. Would love to return in the summer to fully enjoy the outdoor space near the running creek. Amazing experience overall and extra shout to our host for checking in and making sure everything was running smoothly.

We had a wonderful stay! We were close to so many of the areas attractions. The creek running through the property was my favorite thing. You could sit anywhere outside and listen to it. The property is spectacular all around. The location is close to all the attractions, restaurants, and beautiful hiking. The property is thoughtfully put together inside and out. The outside is like an oasis with the babbling creek, hammocks, and back patio with tons of entertainment. The inside is ready to host a family (or two) with games, large dinning table, and lots of gathering places. Our family loved the house. You can feel every ounce of care Caren puts into the property. Annual Family Reunion

Every summer we meet our daughter and her family along with our son and his family in an interesting, exciting and entertaining location We were not disappointed with our stay on Stratton. The 2nd floor bunkhouse was perfect for our 4 grandchildren and the 3 bedrooms plus the Yurt was great and comfortable. Location was very convenient to our intended destinations. Our host was very responsive to our few questions. If you intend to visit Colorado Springs this would be a great place to stay.

Stay for USAFA graduation

We stayed over the week of USAFA graduation and it was a perfect retreat for our family from the craziness of all the graduation activities. We really appreciated the long table off the kitchen which was able to seat all 8 of us, plus three other guests for dinner who weren’t staying there with us. The beds were especially comfortable! The outdoor space in the backyard is really great and the host was very friendly and communicative throughout our stay!

In the middle of it all

This house is perfectly located in Colorado Springs for any activity you could want. Seven falls is no more than 10 minutes away and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is even closer. We had a great stay at the house for the weekend for a family reunion that was held at the Broadmoor, which, like everything else, was only a short walk from the house. Caren was a great host and I highly recommend this property.

This house was amazing. Beautifully decorated and had all the amenities you could ever need. Caren was super easy to work with. Very responsive and accommodating. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was nice to have starter amenities for our stay (trash bags, soaps, spices, toilet paper, paper towels, etc)! We would love to return to this property. The Stratton House is exceptional and was the perfect fit for our gathering that included ages 8 months (twins) to 65 years (grandparents). The house is unique with an abundance of character. The children (ages 7,6,4,3) loved the bunks in the loft. Very spacious, while cozy at the same time. Was excellent location to stay for one of the individuals in our group who was attending a conference at the Broadmoor.

After finishing our education (the University of Florida, University of Oklahoma, and Duke University), we moved to Colorado Springs in 2002. It is hard to imagine living anywhere else. We have four children, ages 27-19, and love the outdoors. We would love to make you feel at home and get the most out of your time in Colorado!
