About this property
Log Cabin Living and the College World Series-CWS
Enjoy country living just 35 minutes from downtown Omaha! Great for a group who wants to cheer on their team and then retreat to a wonderful get away to relax before or after the games. Located just 35 minutes from TD Ameritrade Park and going in the OPPOSITE direction of all the Omaha traffic! This home is an oasis from the hustle-bustle.
A true log cabin, you will feel the peace and tranquility from the moment you walk through the doors. Settled amidst the scenic Loess Hills, the view from the deck is a spectacular vista of the Missouri River valley and the view from the front porch is all woodland!
This fully equipped house boasts a king master on the main, a queen bedrooom on the main, a King master with baby bed in the basement, and a wonderful loft area with two twin over full bunk beds and a queen pull-out couch (not included in the sleeping count, but very comfortable!). The main room is open concept with kitchen, living and dining all in one large room. An additional "four-season" room is adjacent with large TV and card playing table. Expansive deck and covered patio extend living spaces into the outdoors. In back, you will find a patio with outdoor dining, and fire pit (wood burning).
Please note this house is truly in the country, which translates to peace and tranquility...and spotty wifi!

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Julie Skradski
This home has been dreamed of for many years and finally became reality when we built it in 2013. Joe is an avid outdoorsman and purchased the property the house sits on in the 1990s. Used primarily as a hunting lodge, it has also hosted family holidays since built.
Why they chose this property
This home is a true "Lincoln-Log-type" white pine log home. Designed by Joe and Julie with the help of Golden Eagle Log Homes and lovingly built by a master carpenter, it truly is our dream get-away home. When you step through the door, you have a sense of peace and tranquiility--probably due to the nature of the hom as the logs are thick and offer a tremendous insulation from sound.
What makes this property unique
Located in the Loess Hills, the wildlife is second to none. From the front deck you will see deer feeding in the field at first light and dusk. From the covered porch, if you sit very still, you will most likely hear and see turkeys in the woods as well as dozens of other "woodland" animals. Stay here for a day and you will soon learn why we call it "the sapper of all motivation."
