About this property

Inspiration/Selah on KY Lake

Welcome to Inspiration & Selah, our home and cottage, on beautiful Kentucky Lake. Our home is an open area home upstairs with full views on 3 sides of house of Kentucky Lake/Tennessee River. You can watch all the activities on the lake right from our dining room table, kitchen or living area. There is also a 1/2 bath upstairs. You can open up our doors off the living area to a walkway that goes around to the left of the house to a walkway going down to our screened in porch, deck with pergola and then the deep water dock.

Downstairs is 3 bedrooms. One bedroom (it has two large closets) has a king size bed with room on the floor to add air mattress and two bedrooms each hvae queen size beds with closets. The bathroom downstairs is 10 x 20 and has a shower, separate oversize tub and two lavatories. We also have a washer and dryer downstairs.

Each downstairs bedroom has doors that lead you out to the 30 x 15 screened in porch. Our porch has views of the lake on all open sides with plenty of seating for a large group of people. We have a tv, apartment size refrigerator & freezer located in the screened in porch. Check our pictures out to get a better idea of the relaxing time you can spend with your family and friends in our screened in porch. On those hot days you can turn on the ceiling fans and floor fans, get a cold glass of tea and enjoy your visit in our home.

There is a screened in door on the left side that will allow you to go down to the deck/pergola and ultimately to the dock. Dock can be used (use at own risk)to swim, sit and bring your boat. Boating activities such as skiing, tubing, water boards or just swimming is only a few feet away. Fish from the dock if you prefer.

Upstairs there are three carports and a parking area beside the Cottage.

Selah, our cottage, has 2 bedrooms, and an open area with kitchen and living area. A full size bath. Selah has a queen size bed in one bedroom and 2 twins in the other with open to kitchen and living room. The living room has a sofa sleeper and a rollaway bed. Selah is only 8 feet away from Inspiration.

Small dogs are allowed that are well trained, well behaved and mannered. Please ask about any other size dogs. Remember the owner and guest are 100% responsible for any damage created by the dog.

Come enjoy our home on the beautiful and scenic Kentucky Lake. You will be glad you did. It's time to get away.

Relaxing and fun stay at Inspiration and Selah

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. With the main home and cottage, there was plenty of space for our two families of 4. The property was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the views of the lake are fantastic! The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Overall a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon.

Great place for a family getaway

We traveled from MO to KY with another family for this lake getaway. The kids loved swimming off the dock. The large living room in the main house has high ceilings, and is a great place to gather for dinner or just chill out. Loved the screen porch. Great place to relax with a cocktail in the late afternoon.

Great fun for all!

Entire extended family had a wonderful time while enjoying this great property. The dock was both a spot to swim and sun and made it so much easier to enjoy boating on beautiful Kentucky lake. Having access to both the house and the cottage made it possible for everyone to have their own space and to enjoy lots of family time as well.

Week at KY Lake

The place was what we needed to have all the family together to fish, swim or just hang out. The screened in porch was the best part of the house. The floating dock got a lot of use too. There are a lot of stairs so make sure you are ok with that.

Perfect place to social distance!

Very comfortable and spacious! Had everything we needed...even down to a vegetable peeler! With a Monday to Monday rental there was very little activity on the lake except for Saturday. We were able to kayak and canoe easily and safely. It seemed we had the lake to ourselves. Quiet neighborhood. Owner responded very quickly to my many questions. Wonderful place to slow down, be quiet and enjoy family.

Perfect for large family

We very much enjoyed our stay at the house and cottage. The property provided ample parking for all of ohr vehicles plus a boat trailer. Own private dock made getting out on the water hassle less and there is a boat launch within 2 minutes of the property. The house and the cottage was more than enough room for a group of 8. The cottage is a nice addition to give some separation bewtween the adultsand teens. This is by far the best option for a large / blended / extended family or friends gathering / vacation. I will definitely rent here again.

Amazing Lake Vacation

Two families stayed at the Yates property. Everything was just as described. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels and enough soap to get you started until you could get to the store. The boys/men in both families enjoyed the “bungalow” of additional space. It was our “man cave” for the week. The views were spectacular and the convenience of being on the lake was awesome! Michael responded very quickly to any questions. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

Family getaway at the lake

The small cottage plus main house worked well for us. The three teenagers stayed in the cottage. We were searching for the second single bed and eventually realized that it was a trundle bed.The big cottage is very nice. It was very hot during our visit and the air conditioning worked well.The owner was accomodating with things we needed.It is a long walk down to the lake and climb back up but if you are in decent shape you should have no problem. Sandals are recommended as the steps and walkway at the bottom get warm.Make sure you take some floating devices as the water is deep right off the dock.It was certainly nice to have the dishwasher and we did a couple loads of laundry as well.Because of the heat we really only went swimming and the watched some tv, so nice to have the big screen. A big table was great for games with another table for a puzzle.Overall, I think it was a good holiday.

Beautiful lake views. Loved the open kitchen living room, with enough seating for every one to share a meal, the owner was quick to respond and have the air conditioning repaired, when it stopped working, we would have liked more privacy with the bedroom

Comfortable and spacious!

This was our first VRBO booking and couldn’t be happier! The house was very comfortable and well equipped. The cottage on the property was perfect for the three teenagers in our group to have their own space. The property owner was very informative and responded to questions promptly. The screen porch was a perfect setting to watch the kids on the dock or enjoy watching the action on the lake.

Beautiful View

Our family enjoyed our stay very much and Michael was very responsive. It was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. The separate cottage worked well for our family dynamic and having 2 kitchens was helpful for meal preparation. Navigation to and from the dock takes care with little ones, but the platform was great for them. The only negative we encountered is the lack of handicap accessibility. My mother-in-law was unable to use the downstairs bathroom in the main house because the toilet is on a platform.
