We love staying here…it is our 5th time! Great location! Great house for a large group! Bring your boat and your relaxed attitude! You will enjoy staying at the Pirates Cove!!
I loved how much space we had for all of the boats! They had very quick responses and even let us check in early! I recommend if you are looking at staying here to book it!!!
Very nice property, we loved the way we could have our own space but could have family gathering.
Very nice property, we loved the way we could have our own space but could have family gathering. Clean, comfortable and nautical, fire pit was a plus...we would come back and Recommend.
This was our second time staying here, and we would definitely recommend it. Plenty of room, great location, great hosts. We were able to park the boats in the water right behind the house with easy access for a day trip to Silver Glenn.
We very much enjoyed the property. The game room loft and the big yard made things very easy. Multiple kitchen set ups for our own space. We loved staying here and look forward to renting again!!
The property was very peaceful and accommodated our group nicely. There was plenty to do and my family really enjoyed being able to fish right off the dock. The only thing is the listing made it seem like there was another room, luckily not everyone was able to make it so it worked out. We would stay at this property again.
We enjoyed the house very much; very comfortable with different spaces and things to do for all ages.
The online details aren’t accurate be side there’s one of the bedrooms that we never saw, 16 people wouldn’t have fit; we were 10 and it was just the right size.
My family and I had an absolute blast during our stay here. The lodging was perfect for our large group. Very private. The large boat dock was perfect for our 2 boats. Loved the fire pit area. Overall very clean. We would definitely like to come back!
My extended family had a wonderful vacation in Astor. We have been coming for years up until the family sold its place. Renting this house was perfect for us. We rented boats and were able to park them outside! We fished and explored and went to Silver Glens springs!
The house was perfect for a large group. We definitely want to come back in the future!
Great for family, or big groups we had cancelations so the 2nd fl didnt even get used. The outside area is super nice. Spent alot of time in the seating/grill area and horseshoe area. AC works really well. Dock super nice plenty of room. Turning around a 25ft boat and docking super easy.
Everything was great. Kayaks were good and kids fished alot. Breaker in bunkhouse bathroom kept popping. This made us share other bathromms but overall we loved it and will be staying again next year
We had enough room for all 15 of us adults. The 3 separate living spaces was more than adequate. The neighbors were awesome and so friendly. We came for bike week and the ride to and from was beautiful. Lots to do from fishing to campfires, corn hole, playing pool. We visited silver glen springs and it was a close drive. The beds were comfortable and the decor was great. You won’t be disappointed! We loved our stay.
Great time with big family! Kitchens well stocked. Plenty of supplies provided (garbage bags, paper towels, shampoo/soap, towels). Lots of stairs, so a bit hard on a few with knee issues. Bunk beds were very squeaky, and other mattresses were a bit softer than preferred. Bring beach towels. Loved fishing k kayaking off dock. Rented pontoon and went to Silver Glen spring both days (about 30-40 from Castaways. David was super responsive to any questions. Overall, great fun for whole family! Thank you.
My youngest brother was about to start chemo for cancer & I thought he needed a change of scenery. There are many fishermen in our family and they fished, non stop for the time we were there! Caught lots of fish! Brim, Cats, Bass. Saw gators and manatee right from the dock! Some used the kayak to go down the canals. Rooms were very clean & plenty of room for everyone. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this was the best all around! We will def be back in the future!

Hi! We are David and Kristie. Married in 2017, and living in St. Augustine, Florida, we were looking for a nice get-a-way for our blended family to easily visit a few times a year. We fell in love with Astor and wanted to share it's charm with others when we weren't staying. Astor has a lot to offer...wildlife, adventure, fishing, hiking, boating, relaxation, and much more. We aim to make sure your visit is amazing and special. There is so much to do onsite but one of our favorite things is to just relax at night and play games. We've made so many memories here and our goal is to make sure you return. We are always making improvements and love feedback on how to make your stay better.
Why they chose this property
Perfect for large groups who want to stay together but in separate living areas...Family reunions, Church groups, Men's fishing retreats. Family boating to swim in the springs, or just a relaxing weekend with bon fires and corn hole on the property... You will not be bored...
What makes this property unique
Fishing right off dock. String lights, fire pit and outdoor speakers for night time gatherings. Kayaks available on property for canal use. Outdoor kitchen with bar and a great place to clean your catch of the day for the feast that night. Places to eat out, but also charcoal grill onsite for a stay at home dinner.
