About this property

Luxury Home on 3 acres w/ Awesome Views - 10 Miles North of Downtown Dgo - AC

Our 2,400 square foot, 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom (each with attached bathrooms) residence sits on 3 acres and is located 10 miles (less then 15 minutes) north of downtown and 15 miles (15 minutes) south of Purgatory Ski area. The location offers privacy and seclusion but yet is just a short drive to downtown as well as Purgatory. Dalton Ranch and the newly renovated Durango Hot Springs are less then 3 miles from the residence.

The home features a fantastic outdoor covered living space with a gas BBQ grill that offers amazing views of the Hermosa Cliffs.

All 3 master suites are located off the main living space/kitchen while the 4th bedroom (bunk bed room) is located downstairs and features a TV and couch and functions as a 2nd living space. There is a garage with one space for a vehicle (or sports gear) and plenty of additional parking in the driveway.

The home is not pet friendly. Please do not bring pets or emotional support animals.

Great place in a great location. Listing photos were spot on and we enjoyed the wood burning fireplace as well as the mule deer and turkeys that visited every day. Would definitely recommend.

I spent a few days in this house, it was perfect for our family of 6, and you can accommodate up to 8 or 9 people. Great location between Durango and Purgatory. House isn’t very nice, hope to come back.

Very comfortable home! Views are gorgeous!

Enjoyed our stay. The home just needs additional bath linens (wash cloths, hand towels and bath towels). We were a party of 4 and had to wash bath linens every day so that we had clean bath linens.

We truly enjoyed our stay! There was snow on the ground and mule deers out the kitchen window. Location was convenient to many activities. The heated tile floor made the living space cozy and inviting. Lovely home!

Beautiful location. Home comfortably accommodated my family of 9, 5 adults and 4 grandkids. Each of the 4 bedrooms were accompanied by a full bath. The basement bedroom was perfect for our grandkids. The kitchen is huge and is perfect for preparing large meals. The air conditioning system is reliable and effective. On the down side, the laundry room is located in the basement off the 4th bedroom making it difficult to launder without disturbing the guest in the bedroom. The booking process was convenient but be forewarned the addtional booking fees to complete the booking were the most numerous and expensive I have experienced on VRBO. The initial per night cost skyrocketed when all the booking fees were folded in. All in all, we had a great stay..

Beautiful location and home!

We loved staying in this quiet area and in your beautiful home. The location was perfect and hearing the train whistles were one of the the highlights of our trip. We had an issue the night we arrived, but the property manager responded very promptly and fixed the issue. My only suggestion would be more window coverings in the master bathroom. Even though, there is forest behind the home, I would have preferred more privacy. Other than that, the home was clean, beautiful and had everything we needed.

Beautiful property

The property was amazing. Everything was as advertised except for a couple things: we couldn't get the A/C to work properly, and the lack of clear instructions was frustrating. As a result, we had 3 hot nights. Also, the amenities (shampoo, etc) were not there, and we had to ask the management company for them. They brought 1 set when we told them there were 3 of us (3 men on a business trip, so we were not sharing). One last thing - there are no extra sheets and our sheets needed replacing, so I had to wash them before sleeping. I emailed these issues to the owner/management company, and we were taken care of. I will give them another chance because the property itself was awesome.

Excellent communication, beautiful home and location! Highly recommend

The first sign I knew this house was going to be fabulous is the organization of the management company. The directions and entry to the house were spot on; meaning the garage door worked and the code to get the key also worked. The management company also checked in throughout our stay to make sure everything was okay. We entered through the bunk room and I was already impressed before going upstairs to the main living area. The house is beautiful and spotless. The owners seem to travel a lot as evidenced by the fun family pictures and the custom made Moroccan dining table (what a piece of beautiful art!). The house is truly as beautiful as the pictures show...no false advertising here! There are so many nice touches such as coffee, tea, throw blankets, wall heaters, games, plenty of extra pillows and blankets. laundry room with soap, well stocked kitchen with pots, pans, cutlery, cooking tools, etc. We were treated to sights of deer, turkey hens, very healthy coyotes, and the steam engine train from Durango. My only regret to the house was I had to leave! Oh, I highly recommend it 😁

Unhappy with hidden fees

While the home was nice, the hidden fees were unbelievable. What started out as a reasonable price nearly doubled when extra charges were added!!! A large expense was for cleaning, and they asked us to run a load of towels and the dishwasher. Also, we were offered the chance to purchase cancelation insurance. Our companions' dog was bitten by a rattlesnake and needed constant medical attention. Although the insurance was costly, this was not an insured reason to cancel. We were definitely misled. We will NEVER use VRBO again, and will encourage our friends and neighbors to avoid them as well.
