Loved the cabin and the area. The location was nice as we traveled north to sightsee but were only 5 minutes to Durango. I will definitely stay here again!
Good place to stay at, very fun and had a nice time with me and my Family I would recomend for anyone trying to stay here in Durango. My kids and nephews had a blast in the jacuzzi.
The location is perfect for going into Durango and also accessing the trails for hiking, and other mountain activities. Excursions to Ouray, Silverton and even Telluride can be accomplished in a day.The house had everything we needed and very clean. It is an older home that's not perfect but extremely comfortable. No A/C but cools off in the evening and fans are available.Definitely would stay again. And Taylor was a great host and responded to all questions immediately.
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin on our recent ski trip to Purgatory. The owners were pleasant in our communications and the location of the cabin made getting to the ski resort a piece of cake. The cabin is also close to a grocery store and other things to do in and around Durango.
We had a great time in Durango. The house was comfortable and spacious enough for our family. The location was amazing. We enjoyed the train and the beautiful valley.
This was a good home to stay in- it was VERY clean which won us over! It is definitely quirky and had some minor inconveniences (some doors won't close and several light bulbs were out upstairs- wasn't a huge deal but we didn't have much light up there at night) but the cleanliness and the neat game room would bring us back!
The Clarks were very responsive to any questions that we had prior to our stay and the property was very clean on our arrival. The property was perfect for our extended family stay. We appreciated the large spaces for our family to get together -- a large table that accommodated us comfortably, plenty of space for visiting, three ensuite bedrooms plus a fourth full bath, and a large game room and a basketball and hoop that we fully utilized. We will definate stay there again if we need a place near Durango. A good time was had by all!! Thanks!!
The owners were very communicative and friendly. Pros:-4 bedrooms-Lots of space for parking-Clean-Rooms were large-Grill-Large outdoor area for kids to play Cons:-Farther from downtown so if you want walking distance it’s not for you. However if you want more space and less people than this would be a pro. -Upstairs bathrooms only had a tub and no shower.-With the slanted roof you couldn’t stand up properly at the sink and in the tub-No AC was very warm upstairs -Only 1 TV in the main living space-If you’re older or have walking issues/disability the stairs to get into the place are extremely steep and some have a very large step up distance. -The place is definitely more rugged than the pictures show
We had a little one (3) and 4 adults staying for a quick get away to spend time together. The reviews are spot on, house is clean, we enjoyed the game room over the garage, and the furniture is comfortable and well laid out. Wifi is quick, TV easy to use, and beds are comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and appliances worked well. The parents of the kiddo really appreciated the washer and dryer (and the laundry soap provided). The hosts are very responsive, some of the best we have had over the years.
The property was setup nicely for hanging out, making meals and having access to so many beautiful places to explore! The property does not include shower gel, soap or shampoo so we were caught off guard on that but otherwise everything is provided. The game room and basketball court were awesome to use as well! Loved the valley and mountain views, and seeing the sunrise each day.

Fun weekend at an unusual cabin.
We are a family of 5 adults. This cabin was unusual for several reasons:1 - This is not a good choice for mobility challenged people. The steps up to the front door are challenging and there is a spiral staircase up to 2 bedrooms and bathrooms.2 - There are only 2 showers. There is a full bathroom with shower in the master bedroom and a shower stall in a room off the laundry room. There are no showers upstairs.3 - The front door lock was unpredictable, so we mostly left the house unlocked when we left.4 - The beds were comfortable and the kitchen seemed adequate although we did not cook at the house.5 - The location was good for going to Purgatory Resort.
The house was nice but we had problems getting into the property. Stairs were insufficient. Beds were comfortable, house was clean, owners were very accommodating. Close to Durango.
Great location. We spent our days exploring the area and evenings in the game room. Game room was a big hit! This rental fit all our needs with room for everyone. It was very easy to interact with our host.
Perfect location for our family to stay and enjoy summer in Durango for a few days. Nicely situated close to town and also close to James Ranch and Purgatory. Plenty of room for the 4 of us.
The Host was very responsive to all questions that we had and the property was as described it met our needs very well.

About the host
Hosted by Taylor Clark
We are a family of 4 living just across the Valley. We have been in Durango since 98' and enjoy skiing, rafting, kayaking, biking and all the mountains have to offer. We are a fireman and nurse serving our local community. We purchased this house in 2008 and lived in it for 10 years. The house was originally a ski lodge located in Vallecito by the lake. The home was won in a card game and moved to the location it sits now in 1988. It was narrowly missed by Missionary Ridge Fire in 2002. You can see the burn scar as you drive through the valley.
Why they chose this property
This home is close to town but has the amazing views of the Animas Valley. It's only 15 minutes to Purgatory and close to PJs gourmet market and the Durango Hot Springs and Spa. Enjoy the separate game room, basketball court and yard games in the well watered lawn.
