About this property
Private and Cozy Adventurer's Haven (Dog Friendly!)
Welcome to Vision Rock! Come experience the bliss of privacy, with crisp pine-scented mountain air. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths on 50 secluded acres on a mountain top. The views of the San Juan Mountains are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Without the light pollution of a big city, you can revel in the astounding sight of millions of stars on a clear night.
This mountain escape is an adventurer's paradise, being centrally located to unforgettable hiking trails, skiing, hot springs, and rich cultural and historical sites. Within minutes of downtown Durango and the Animas River there is some of the best fishing available in southwest Colorado. Vallecito has a beautiful reservoir surrounded by mountains and is only a 30-minute drive away. Enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, or spending a day out on the boat. Pagosa Hot Springs Spa (the world’s largest natural hot springs) is 55 minutes away and Wolf Creek Ski Area is a beautiful 1 hour and 20-minute drive to the East. Purgatory Ski Resort and Durango Hot Springs and Spa are just under an hour to the northwest. Take the Durango-Silverton train for a scenic ride to historic Silverton or spend a day learning about the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Ignacio at the Cultural Center. The Sky Ute Casino is always a great time! Don't forget Mesa Verde National Park, a World Heritage Site, and International Dark Sky Park, it is just 55-minutes away. It is a 700-year-old site of the Ancestral Pueblo people with thousands of species, including several that live nowhere else on earth! Chimney Rock National Monument is only 40-minutes away and you can walk in the footsteps of the fascinating and enigmatic Ancestral Puebloans of the Chaco Canyon, following primitive pathways that haven’t changed for 1,000 years and offers Night Sky Programs.
There is so much to explore and to do for anyone craving a refreshing escape. Perfect for a large family or multi-family vacation, bring your pets! After the first deer spotting, there's a good chance that the kids will want to put those video games away!
Please be aware that 4WD or AWD is required to access the property if snow or ice is present. There are security video cameras on the external entrances of the home, there are no video or recording devices of any kind on the interior of the home.
