About this property

Quiet Lakeside log cabin with teaching/studio space available for retreats.

This classic northwoods log cabin is perfect for quiet honeymoons, family vacations, girls weekends, or hunting/fishing/snowmobiling getaways.

Nestled on 6 wooded acres overlooking beautiful Connors Lake, Minnesota Kind Lodge offers a rare peace that you won’t find on the busier lakes, while still providing world class fishing & wildlife spotting.

Connors lake is a private lake with no public access. You often have the entire lake to yourself -with the exception of resident loons and herons. We have a fishing boat, a paddle boat, a double kayak, and multiple paddle boards available, but the most popular spot on the lake is the shallows in front of the dock just 100 level feet from the cabin door. Many great meals have been caught dropping a line off of the dock.

The cabin has all of the amenities you need to sleep 10-13 comfortably, with a giant sleeping loft and pull out couch available, but the space is intimate enough to use as a private romantic escape for couples and honeymooners.
A wood fireplace keeps the great room cozy on winter nights, and the also offers central heating and central air conditioning to keep the everyone comfortable year round.
A fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs sits in a clearing just off of the water and a grill is on hand for cooking outside.
Inside there is everything you need to cook 4 star meals- a gas stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker etc. We provide stainless steel pots and pans and all the cooking tools and serving dishes you need. The thick pine tables were designed and built especially for the space.
Downstairs there is a bar, and ice maker for entertaining.

Host your holiday get together at Minnesota Kind Lodge and leave your stress at home.

Have you ever wanted to host a retreat? Walk a short level path through the woods to a second space that is also available to rent. This studio space is perfect for teaching classes (tables and chairs available upon request) writing retreats, church retreats, yoga, dance, art classes etc. The studio space has central air and heat, and beautiful views of the surrounding birch, pine, and tamarack woods.

My name is Sandra Melby. I own Melby Properties LLC, and Minnesota Kind. I have a passion for investing in unique properties and for teaching Yoga. My husband Joe and I farm and raise 4 kids near Thief Lake MN.

Why they chose this property

We love this property because we have always brought our kids fishing in this area. Nothing beats watching a happy kid pulling in bluegills off the dock. We particularly love that Connors Lake is private, and away from the hustle of the busy lower lakes, but just 3 minutes from the pizza parlor and ice cream at Park Recreation in town.

What makes this property unique

Sitting on the dock, walking the trails, or sitting around the fire, this property exudes peace. I sleep better here than anywhere else. I love to paddle out onto the lake as the sun begins to set. I love the call of the loon and the snaps you hear when the fish feed off of the lily pads near the peninsula. I love looking up from my hammock and seeing deer make their way across the wooded trail, and I love to wake up and see the mist rising off of the water. This is a singular place.
