About this property

1800s Rustic Log Montana Cabin near Hocking Hills

The Montana Cabin is nestled in the rolling hills of Southeast, Ohio while still remaining close to nearby restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The cabin boasts 1 lofted bedroom, 1 bathroom, a comfortable living space, and a beautiful kitchen. Traveling is a breeze when you stay with us as the cabin is fully equipped with great amenities. Property offers an outdoor hot tub, fire pit, and great quality time. State Parks, lakes, canoe & kayaking, ziplining and so much more all located within a short distance from the property.
You will be overwhelmed by the beauty and calmness of the forest and wildlife. Explore the property or the beautiful Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest region of Southeast Ohio. Maybe you will have a serendipitous encounter with nature that you will wish to experience time after time.

Guests will follow a long gravel driveway until they find themselves in the middle of the forest where they are welcomed to a beautiful, rustic 1800s log cabin with a wrap around porch. Upon entering the Montana Cabin, guests will feel an instant sense of charm, comfort, and peace.

The Montana Cabin was completely restored using reclaimed barn doors and patchwork quilt hardwood flooring that came from old churches, schoolhouses, and other older homes in the area. The hickory kitchen cabinets are filled with all the amenities needed for our guests to enjoy a scrumptious, home-cooked meal. There is a wood burning pot bellied stove that guests can use to warm up with during winter months while snuggling on the couch. Follow the wooden staircase to the cozy lofted area with two Queen-sized beds where the floors and A-frame ceiling are covered in the beautiful, restored hardwood flooring.

Step outside each morning for a morning coffee before the birds start chirping to hear the unearthly quietness of the forest. Throughout the day, explore the unknown at the nearby State Parks. Come back to enjoy some flamed grilled food.

The wrap around porch is pure bliss. There is a small fire pit around the back where our guests can enjoy time underneath stars around a crackling, warm flame. To end each evening, guests can relax and unwind in the circular Jacuzzi that is tucked away on the corner of the wrap around porch.

Honeymoon Getaway
We spent 5 nights in the Montana cabin for our honeymoon! The place was so cozy and so clean. Perfect tucked away little cabin on a hill. The cabin has a sense of coziness the minute you walk in. There are journals with little notes about previous people’s stays. There are also notes tucked into the grooves in the walls. Some with stories, some with jokes, some with scavenger hunts. There are little corks and other little tokens of memories that people had left behind. It’s quiet and peaceful there. The hot tub is super relaxing. The cabin is very close to anything you’d want to do or visit while there. The cabin has everything you could possibly need. There’s even a crock pot lol. There is a grill to use as well. The fire pit is right by a little creek so you can hear that while you’re there❤️❤️❤️ We will me be making this a yearly trip! Thanks so much!!!!! Zach and Amber Postell

Birthday get away dream!
This cabin was even better than the pictures. We walked in to warmth and this wonderful smell, like pine and cinnamon and bread. It was so cozy, lovely and clean. My partner and I had a blast curling up together and watching horror movies on the comfortable couch. And we also got to go to Hocking Hills State Park, specifically Old Man’s Cave, right after a beautiful snow fall. It was a perfect and private respite from the city. My partner said it was a great birthday surprise! We will be back!

Secluded rustic getaway
Very quiet and peaceful. Very clean overall and well stocked. Love the inside of the cabin so much. Truly a gem. A few suggestions: provide firewood or fire starters. And the hot tub cover could be replaced. Light in hot tub didn’t work and the inside of the cover was making the water dirty. There is a smell outside likely due to the water well or septic but it wasn’t much of an issue for me. I also wish checkout wasn’t so early, usually 11-12 is normal but 10 made me feel rushed to get out. I would return though.
