About this property

Charming seafront home with garden on the Beach in unspoilt Seaside Village

Seaview is a charming unspoilt seaside village which is popular for family beach holidays, sailing and fishing and year round walking. This three bedroom holiday home is part of a well-maintained high quality private development right on the seafront with direct access to Seaview's two main beaches and the Isle of Wight Coastal Footpath. Patio doors open from the living room to the stunning, south facing, decked garden which can be lit for evening dining under the palm trees. The property is an ideal year round holiday home. The development is private and very quiet. Parking is a short distance from the property though you can park right outside the front door to load and unload. Seaview village has a few shops including a fabulous community shop , a hotel with a great restaurant and a pub all just a short stroll along the beach or road, depending on the state of the tide. It takes less than 10 minutes to collect the fresh croissants for breakfast!

Seaview is a prime bucket and spade holiday village originally popular with the Victorians which still has an old world charm. There is only one small hotel, albeit with a famous restaurant. The roads are too narrow for coaches so it has remained an unspoilt gem frequented by generations of those in the know.

The living room has sliding doors to a south facing sheltered private decked sunny garden with steps to the seafront path from which the beaches and slipway are reached. You can step in your swimsuit from the garden to the sea, about 20m at high tide! This garden is a fantastic suntrap and has a wonderful view of the Solent All three bedrooms have sea views and the master bedroom has a small balcony. The house is very light and airy, decorated in shades of blue and yellow, with the twin and bunk bedrooms sharing one bathroom and the master double bedded room having a brand new ensuite showerroom and small balcony.

There is a good sized airing cupboard on the landing and a utility room off the ample kitchen which has a breakfast table. The living room has a dining table to seat eight and comfortable seating to relax in and is equipped with books, games and TV.

The Isle of Wight has nine golf courses, horse riding and many attractions for a great day out including the famous dinosaur centre at Blackgang Chine and the brilliant Tapnell Farm. In Ryde (4 miles) there are shops, supermarkets, bowling, and a cinema for the occasional rainy day, though the Isle of Wight is noted for its sunny weather. On a perfect sunny day nothing beats a morning on the beach, a walk to Baywatch Cafe for a fish lunch and a barbecue in the garden for supper. Seaview is a great base for walkers exploring the east of the island and, for bird-watchers, Bembridge Harbour is a noted site for viewing wading birds. The Island is famous for its cycle trails and the annual 100km IOW Randonee in May.

Although busiest in the summer holidays Seaview is a great year round destination and the house has plenty of hot water and combined night storage and convector heaters for winter warmth after a days walking and visiting the Island's many splendid pubs.

disappointing
This is the only VRBO property that we've been to where we didn't get any kind of welcome from anyone and no one to show us around the house which I found quite disappointing. Although the property is in a very good location we were not made aware it was part of a block there was only one window in a bedroom from which you can actually see the sea because the development is so badly designed. The decking in the garden was very slippery so we were unable to use it . The house was very cold when we arrived and does not have a proper central heating system only night storage heaters in every room which are really not very effective - and the largest room has the smallest heater. The very small second bedroom has only room for two single beds so there was no storage space /dressing table or anywhere to sit. The shower in the bathroom needs attention so it works/ nor were there any cleaning products and only one loo roll - all these details are irritating and we would not book this property again

Wonderful
This is the second visit to the property and it is a clean and pleasant place to stay with lovely sea views across the Solent from the deck. Easy parking and close proximity to beach.

I grew up in Seaview and have spent all my summers in the village ever since. we own the house next door and in 2001 bought number 27 so as to have more space for our family and friends. When the family can fit in to just one house then we let number 27 and hope you will come and enjoy a holiday in our spare home

Why they chose this property

We keep a very close eye on Samphire as we also own the house next door so are able to check that everything is up to scratch and effect repairs quickly and efficiently. From late July and for the whole of August we don't let at all, keeping the house for our own family so we furnish the house to personal as well as letting standards

What makes this property unique

As well as being one of closest let properties in Seaview to the beach, you also have a private garden. There are only a handful of properties available to rent in Seaview where you can walk from your garden to the beach in a swimsuit without crossing a road . This makes holidays so much more fun and hassle free when it takes only moments to pop back home from the beach to collect snacks, forgotten beach toys or dry clothes and towels, aq real bonus with small children . Seaview Bay also has the benefit of an onsite caretaker, who is extremely helpful and friendly and able to answer any questions and queries you may have as well as solving any problems
