Quiet, relaxing peaceful getaway just for two. Also good for the whole family. Our stay was a getaway from kids and we loved it. Next time they will be going.
We had a wonderful two night stay at the Apache cabin. The location was quiet, safe and secluded and we enjoyed the peace. The state parks are a short drive away. We’d love to come back in the summer!
The cabin was just as described. Quaint and cozy with a great attention to detail. It was very clean and we had a very enjoyable stay there. Will likely return to check out some of the other cabins.
Terisa was a great host! The location was just 15 min from starved rocked, and was such a peaceful resort! The cabin was very comforting, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay! Definitely coming back for another get away!
We enjoyed our time to unplug and relax. The cabin is well situated to visit state parks and towns and is well maintained. We will likely return.

Quiet and relaxing
My girlfriend and I needed a quick getaway. It was so quiet and relaxing. We overlooked the Vermilion river. All we heard from the time we walked in was nature. No humans within earshot. We needed some peace and quiet. We definitely found it here. We will definitely be back!! The owners were friendly & helpful. I would highly recommend staying here!!

Winter Wonderland
I've been wanting to stay here for years, and we finally made it. Clean, well-equipped cabin in a lovely, peaceful setting close to Mathiessen State Park and Starved Rock. We enjoyed the onsite hiking trail to the river and complementary movies. Helpful friendly hosts. Highly recommend.

Simply Stunning!
Absolutely beautiful location, and a really lovely weekend getaway. Cabins are ultra clean, possibly not the most modern or kitted out (you are in the woods afterall) but superbly clean and beds are comfy, and lovely and warm in winter. Cant ask for more than that. There is a good distance between cabins to ensure privacy but not so far away it gets spooky. Outdoor fire pits are a great bonus, as is the onsite puppy and lovely dog. Pet friendly, awesome for kids and and lovely hosts. Definitely planning on returning.

Recebt Stay at Kishauwau
We have been staying at Kishauwau for the past 14 years and always find it a wonderful experience! All of the cabins are clean with everything you need. The tranquility always lifts and renews our spirits - I would go once a month if we could!

weekend getaway
My husband and I came for a long weekend just for some down time after the hectic holidays. At first it was a bit of an adjustment not having Wi-Fi but after a bit it was wonderful. We built a fire, played cards and talked. How awesome. The parks are close for hiking and the ice falls were amazing. It's a beautiful place, peaceful place with wonderful hosts. You can't go wrong here.

Weekend Getaway
My wife and I needed a weekend away, disconnected from all the busyness of our lives. No phones, computers or anything like that. We had a great time cuddled up in or cabin and just being away from the world. It was very quiet, clean and cozy. Perfect for what we needed. We will definitely be staying again.

Nice cabin with a huge hot tub
I had a great time at the Kishauwau Cabins this December. The cabin had a wood stove, full kitchen, DVD player and - what was the best! - a huge hot tub! The location is quiet and you cannot hear any of the visitors in the neighboring cabins (to a point that at night you feel like you are alone in the woods :) The owners are nice and they have a huge DVD and video library for borrowing - over 3,000 titles, including just released ones! State parks are only a short drive away, however, I would recommend checking if the parks are open during the hunting season. When I came, Matthiessen state park was only open to hunters...

Kishauwau Country Cabins
Kishauwau wildly exceeded our expectations. We booked the cabin back in January but were unable to get away due to a family emergency. The owners were spectacular and issued a credit to be used within a year. We were scouting a place for a family reunion. There is a wide age spread and wanted to make sure everyone's needs could be met. These cabins are impeccable-clean and well appointed. We didn't need to bring anything with us. The quiet solitude of our winter stay was rejuvenating. It will be an annual retreat for my husband and I. We were able to hike, visit nearby towns and relax and read.
For our family reunion, it will be perfect. I can't wait to plan it with the extended family.
Kishuawau is a must on everyone's list! Don't miss it!

Kishauwau Cabins
Kishauwau is a lovely, peaceful, very clean and wonderfully relaxing get-away. Three state parks nearby have allowed my husband and I to take long walks (we are seniors) and enjoy each season. We have enjoyed Kishauwau for over 20 years as "our" place to renew our relationship, replenish and enjoy our dear friends...the best owners anyone could ask for.
There are restaurants, bars, shops and other to do in nearby towns if you choose, but it is a slower pace, a calm place of joyl Beautifully decorated, warm in winter, cool in summer. You will love it.

Cabin in the woods.
I loved our recent stay, we have visited the cabins for over ten years. The fireplace and bedroom are so cozy. The large whirlpool built for two. Plus the kitchen had everything I needed to cook biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Winter visits do not allow for hiking but it' s still a perfect setting. The owners really care about their guest.

First off I want to say if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to be!! We wanted a romantic getaway but to not be bothered as you are in a hotel and that's exactly what we got. It was so peaceful. We stayed in the Osage cabin and the wood burning stove was great in the winter. At night we went outside and you could here the snowflakes falling it was the most amazing stay we have had anywhere. We spent valentines day alone then on Saturday we picked up our toddler and he stayed with us that night he loved it. The unlimited amount of movies they have in the office are perfect. We enjoyed our stay so much that we found our annual place to stay. We can't wait to go again. Thanks so much for the hospitality.
