The flat was perfect. The views were stunning even though it rained all week. Location of flat was great. A short walk to the harbour. Would definately stay again.
Lovely Appartment in Brixham
Excellent Appartment, lovely people.
Review 3rd Aug to 17th Aug
Rockberry apartment is a loft conversion with stunning views across Torbay. My wife and I have stayed in several different self catering apartments in Brixham over the years and the view from Rockberry is by far the best.
This however comes at a cost, not financially as Rockberry is very competitively priced. It comes at a physical cost as the accessibility is restricted due to the 30 step, narrow, external galvanised spiral staircase that provides the only access into the apartment. Fortunately this wasn't an issue for my wife or I but it is something that needs to be considered before booking.
Overall the apartment was clean and comfortable, although the water system in the ceiling above the bed was very noisy when it randomly filled up a few times throughout the day and night.
The million dollar question; would we re book another holiday back at Rockberry - Yes we would! The positives far outweigh the negatives with the stunning Torbay view and ideal location paramount for us.
Thank you for your accurate and balanced review. The location, the views and the parking are indeed the real selling point to this apartment. Most of ours guests are repeat visitors for these reasons and we very much hope to see you again soon. You are quite right about the spiral staircase. We always try to bring this o the attention of our guests so I am always pleased when it is also mentioned in the reviews. The plumbing noise above the ceiling is caused by the immersion heater for the rest of the house. We have changed the timer for the boiler and it should now be inactive during the night time. We look forward to your next visit. Brixham can be really lovely (and quieter) outside of the school summer holiday period and is well worth a visit.
Everything I Hoped For
No words can describe the beautiful panoramic view you experience from this apartment. Everything about the holiday - weather, area, facilities in the apartment and the welcome was perfect. Thank you.
Best view of the sunset over brixham
This flat was well equipped, there was good communication with the owners. The views across the harbour were stunning, especially the sunset. The open spiral staircase that is outside to access the flat was ok for me but my husband who is not so good with heights did find it a bit daunting. It was a nice 10/15 minute walk to the bars and shops
Hi, thank you for your review. We know that a few people might find the spiral staircase initially a little daunting. If we are in when guests arrive we are always pleased to help carry bags up. We mention the stairs on the Homeaway site and again when taking a booking so we are pleased when it is featured in reviews.
Pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and we hope to see you again soon.
Excellent views from windows
Great views from the windows. Accommodation very well appointed. Rather a long walk into town, where parking was challenging. We found the climb up the external spiral staircase daunting. My wife needed to cling to the hand rail and could not be relied upon to carry anything. Fortunately Kevan was at hand to help on our arrival.
The Rockberry Apartment is on the South West Coastal footpath. It is within a few minutes walking distance from the Marina and harbour, Breakwater beach, Ladybird Cove, the Seawater Swimming pool, Shoalstone Point and Berry Head Country Park (a site of Special Scientific Interest). It is idealy situated for people wishing to enjoy the local coastline and sea.
Brixham an historic town with a busy fishing industry. It has a picturesque old harbour which, not surprisingly, is overlooked by a number of good fish restaurants. During the summer period passenger boats can be taken to Torquay, Dartmouth and the River Dart. The town also has a heritage fleet of sailling trawlers. 'The Vigillance' is available for short sailling trips around the Bay. The town is located on the southern side of Torbay within the stunning South Devon coastline.
Brixham is also well placed to explore the interior of South Devon.
