"Tidepools" sits on the highest eastern point between the famous Cape Neddick Light (the Nubble) and the Cliff House Resort, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on over an acre of private land. With more than 200 feet of your own private rocky ocean access and coastline, you may never want to leave!

Conveniently located in York, Maine minutes from the famous Cliff House Resort, Nubble Light and the villages of Ogunquit and Perkins Cove. The back lawn blends with the rugged surroundings. Footpaths to the water where the magic of tide pools, swimming, kayaking, fishing and snorkeling awaits. The large land-side lawn and sunset deck is the perfect place for family fun and games. Peaceful, private and completely renovated (with major improvements made in Spring 2019)

The hub of family fun – from dawn to late into the night – is the open family and living area. There is also a separate living room with TV. The house features stunning ocean views from almost every room in the house. The fully equipped new kitchen awaits you. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 of which have ocean views and sleeps 10 comfortably. All of the bedrooms are appointed with quality linens and towels for your convenience. 2 ½ baths, an awesome outdoor shower, front and back deck, large front yard, BBQ Grill, etc.

Tidepools sits in a secluded setting on a private road, three miles from some of the best surfing, beaches and other great activities in the area. Portsmouth, New Hampshire is 15 minutes to the south. Portland, Maine lies 45 minutes north and Boston and Manchester, NH are less than 90 minute's drive away.

Tidepools is both totally private and peaceful. It is a 5-minute drive to the Cliff House Resort & Spa, and only a minute more to the Cape Neddick Country Club golf course. You are only minutes from some of the finest dining and shopping on the New England seacoast. Less than 90 minutes from Boston, an hour from Manchester and 45 minutes from Portland, Tidepools is totally accessible!

Absolutely breathtaking!

It would take me 2 weeks to accurately describe this property it’s that incredible! The views were absolutely breathtaking & even better in person. We were nervous of not having AC in June coming from South Florida - but it was no problem at all with all the windows cracked. We had perfect weather & temperature in the house our entire trip! The house was beyond clean, organized & clearly well cared for. Having a washer/dryer was so amazing with 2 small children. Jim (property owner) was incredible to deal with. Not only was he attentive at anytime I had questions, he made sure we had grocery store locations & good places to go while visiting. If we ever visit Maine again - We will definitely stay here. There are no hotels that can give you this experience. We didn’t want to leave! So happy we booked this home - what an unforgettable experience! Highly recommend.

Slice of heaven

TidePools was exactly as advertised: gorgeous location, not fancy but beautifully renovated, open & airy, modern with some old world charm, and meticulously maintained. The ocean is so close to the house that with the windows open, we felt like we were practically on the sea! The furnishings are very comfortable and bright, there are multiple places inside and out to curl up with a good book, the kitchen is extremely well appointed, and the ocean is EVERYWHERE. Love how private it feels, the many big windows, the breeze, the quiet, the fact that it’s cozy but there’s plenty of space to stretch out, and that towns are just a few minutes away. It was just 2 of us this time, but it would be great for families, too (lots of family games in those cabinets, big lawn out front for kids to run around in addition to nooks & crannies to explore in the rocks by the water). We were looking for an outdoorsy, quiet vacation, but for those who want restaurants & night life, the quaint but lively town of Ogunquit was hopping in the evenings when we drove through for a couple of night walks on the (mostly empty) beach even though it was Sept-Oct. Some stores & a couple of restaurants are nearby in Cape Neddick. Also, Jim was easy to contact and very responsive to our questions. Great host!

Spectacular ocean views and solitude in a well maintained, well equipped house!

We loved this house and but for a couple of really hot stagnant days we had gorgeous ocean breezes and comfortable temperatures to ocean gaze, play lawn games and cook family meals. On the hot days we ran away to Ogunquit Beach which was a nice beach with a nice town center nearby for lunch and ice cream. We will try to return soon!!

A Fabulous Home

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at "Tidepools" with our entire family- eight of us all together. The home is extremely comfortable with plenty of room for all of us- four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and an outdoor shower were more than adequate. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed using all of the outdoor dinnerware. We had most of our meals outside at a lovely table for eight overlooking the cliffs and magnificent ocean. Views of Boone Island, Nubble Lighthouse, lobster boats and a gorgeous moon at night made for a perfect vacation for our family. We hope to be able to return again!

Why they chose this property

The owners' parents bought the land and built the house in the early 1960s as a summer getaway. Tidepools was renovated and restored top to bottom in 2015 to lovingly recapture the simplicity of its original vision of oneness with the breathtaking beauty of the location's site on a high rocky point jutting into the Atlantic. Additional improvements made in spring 2019 including new TV, refrigerator, landscaping, windows, seaside patio, siding, and insulation.
