Casa Maravilla- Spacious and comfortable - & 5 min to the Plaza

Casa Maravilla is in the historic district of Taos, New Mexico. Right in the heart of town, but is very private and quiet so you feel like you are miles away.
A seven-minute walk to Taos Plaza, shops, restaurants, galleries and entertainment. The picturesque drive to the Taos Ski Valley only takes 30 minutes.

Our casita greets its guests with a long shaded porch, to sit and enjoy nature and the gardens, or savor a relaxed meal outdoors, with a view of Taos Mountain. Inside the 800 sq.ft. house is a spacious, open floor plan with pastoral and private views through its many windows. The main area hosts a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living and lounging spaces, including a cozy window seat The living room area has an L shaped couch that converts to a very comfy double bed. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed and french patio doors to view Taos mountain and morning sunrise.
The interior is contemporary and sophisticated, accented with a bit of 'Taos Zen.' Soft muted colors, carpets and artifacts from our travels around the world meets the flavor of Taos whimsy. The decor features original works from local Taos artists.

Casa Maravilla is the perfect peaceful spot for relaxing while watching the brilliant New Mexico sunsets and the millions of stars that appear in the night sky. Loved our stay at Casa Maravilla! Charming, warm and comfortable casita equipped with everything we needed. Location was absolutely perfect - peaceful surroundings, easy 15-20 min walk to restaurants/shops. Especially enjoyed the secluded, super clean hot tub (steps from bedroom door). Looking forward to booking again next time we visit Taos.

Perfect Taos Getaway

Great place to stay!

We loved our stay at Casa Maravilla! The hosts were very helpful and provided everything that we needed. Check in and check out was a breeze. The location is perfect to walk to and explore the Plaza, and yet far enough away to give a wonderful sense of privacy. The accommodations were as described and so very comfortable. We plan to make return trips to Taos and Casa Maravilla will be top of our list for a place to stay!

Oasis in the High Desert

Tara and Jean are the best hosts we have experienced over multiple VRBO stays. Their property has everything a guest could need for a relaxing visit in Taos. The house is beautiful and the property is quiet. We enjoyed coffee on the patio, watching stars at night , and convenient home base for exploring the area. Definitely will be back!

Casa Marcella is a bit of Taos country in town! The hosts have provided a home that makes you feel you are in Taos & not any ol’ neighborhood in any city. Don’t be thrown off by the country lane you turn down as you arrive—yes, you are at the right place! What a nice spot for morning strolls! In the evenings we were greeted by deer! It was very clean & many thoughtful touches. Don’t hesitate to book here!

We enjoy a simple life here in Taos. We love the outdoors and spend a lot of time working in our organic veggie and flower garden. Cooking the food we grow and feeding our friends is our happiness. We have travelled all over the globe and truly understand what it takes to be a gracious host and a grateful guest. We believe its the small details that make a difference.

Taos is such a special place. A small town that has so much variety, so much to see and do, interesting mix of people and a unique quality of life that makes Taos a perfect and memorable vacation spot. Experience the big sky, the colors and light, stunning mountain views and the pueblo architecture that defines this part of the country. .

What makes this property unique

We live on the property in the main house, a 1938 original adobe nestled on a one acre property at the end of a private road. The casita is private and at the back. Every window boasts a pastoral view. Located just minutes to town but we feel miles away from everything. A rare lush, tree filled valley, with an ancient irrigation "acequia madre" running along the perimeter. We built the casita so our children and grandchildren will come and stay in comfort. And we also wish to offer the casita to vacationers to enjoy the many wonderful activities that Taos has to offer. The architecture of Taos is so interesting and unique. All the lovely and unusual interior accents, like 15 inch thick walls, soft archways and pigment colored plaster walls along with radiant floor heat - make your stay all the more pleasant. An extra generous covered porch ( called a portal in New Mexico) allows you to enjoy the outdoors in style. Our casita is oriented to receive solar gain and intentionally built to be cool in the summer and cozy warm in winter.
