This very cosy cottage is located in a beautiful secluded spot (7km from #1) where, in winter, the chances to experience the wild dance of the northern lights are excellent and in the summertime you’ll experience the serene atmosphere of Icelandic nature as it vibrates with life.
Come and enjoy the surroundings which include a beautiful valley with a creek trickling through it, smallest forrest on earth, beautiful old church and hiking paths or keep warm and cosy inside while you relax.
In the cottage you’ll find a small kitchenette equipped with all essentials to make a simple meal. There is a fridge, two plate stove top, coffee maker, toaster and a kettle.
Beds are made, linen is included. The cottage sleeps up to 4 adults. In the cottage is a bunk-bed that consists of 1 1/2 sized lower bed and a single sized top bed, and a sleeping sofa that can be folded out to double size.
This cottage has a private bathroom and shower, towels and shower-soap are included.
Kids are very welcome. Kids under 12 years can stay free of charge if they use the existing beds. Extra bedding will be provided for a small fee. A travel baby crib with or without bedding for small children/toddlers can be provided if asked for. There is a simple playground in the area that kids generally love.
We offer free wi-fi.
You can use everything inside the cottage. Our guests also have a permit to use the BBQ-hut on the campsite which is very close by.
For other services such as groceries, restaurants, gas-station, swimming pool, pharmacy, ATM, post office and other practical things - you will find all of these in Hvammstangi village, which is the village you'll drive through to get to the cottage.
It is also beneficial to visit our tourist information centre if you are interested in knowing more about the area or if you'd like to book a sight-seeing tour, for example to see some seals.
There is a self-check in process to the cottage. You'll get the information you need few days before you arrive. I'm close by and always available through messages on airbnb, email and phone, ready to assist.

Overall had a great stay. The beds were comfortable and the campground was easy to find. Only half the hotplate worked, but we were able to manage just fine. Tge scebery was wonderful and it was very quiet
Arrived late after a long day of exploring and were easily able to get in and stay without having to worry about what time we arrived.

The property was cute and well maintained.
The property was cute, well maintained, and provided all the amenities. One thing which I don't think I realized was how small the cabin was. For 3 adults traveling for 14 days the addition of 3 suitcases and travel bags took up a lot of room and made it rather uncomfortable. My error entirely. So if you are a backpacker or feel comfortable leaving your bags in the car this is a fun place to stay.

Why they chose this property
The Cottages were built by us in 2012, we chose to have them in Kirkjuhvammur, a beautiful spot above Hvammstangi Village to allow our visitors to stay in a secluded spot but yet close to town, not by #1 but not very far from it either.
