Perfect Location for Leisure or Business - Right in the main street
Perfectly located with views of the surrounding hills and Scone main street. Quality and touches of luxury but with the simplicity of a bygone era. Everything you need for an comfy stay.
Both bedrooms offer a queen size bed.
Opposite the Railway Station and only a short walk to local cafes and Woolworths. Hillview Scone is the perfect base for your activities in Scone.
There are two separate living spaces with very comfortable, quality furniture. We have literally tried to make Hillview feel like a home away from home where you can relax after a long day, or just curl up with a good book on the feather stuffed sofa. The whole front of the house is available to guests, as are all of the grounds.
There is a small section at the back of the house which is not accessible, and is currently rented separately to long term tenants. At present, the house has only 1 bathroom, which is the ensuite to the main bedroom. The shower is located within an old fashioned clawfoot bathtub.

Jenine and Gus are great hosts. The property was very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. We had quite a long stay there and the house and gardens/lawns were always maintained to a very high standard. Highly recommended this property.
What a beautiful house and grounds. I feel like we have stayed in a part of Scone's glorious days. The house has been restored with no expense spared. I loved swimming in the pool and imagine the restoration will continue to that area. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks for everything :)
We (two adults and one quiet sensible teenage daughter) enjoyed our stay very much. The house had a unique heritage atmosphere. It was spacious, comfortable and private and we enjoyed looking at the garden and the visiting native birds. Very convenient to the shops. Thank you!
The property is quite nice with an a bit of an odd layout. Very clean and well stocked. Some small problem with the checking I - quickly sorted by the very helpful property owner and local cleaner.Proximity to the railway line is the only negative. Trains run more frequently than you’d expect in a small regional town and are very noisy which is a bit disruptive.
What ever they are paying the caretaker it is too much. Premium price and so many issues, weird things like the towels don’t match, sheets all wrinkled, fridge all duct taped together you just don’t expect for that price. Dust everywhere, paint scraped off walls everywhere, someone’s clothes behind the door… bins not emptied. Beautiful old house being left to ruin.
Great location close to shops and places to eat. Really lovely home with some really nice touches. Heating was great and I couldn’t fault a thing. I highly recommend if you are travelling to Scone. Thanks Jenine and Gus
Despite a mini hiccup with the lock box combo which the hosts fixed immediately ( not their issue ) the stay was lovely.
I went for a memorial service for my Mum.
My aunt dropped by and actually knew the place from the gardens that used to have open days many many years ago . The gardens and outdoor areas are incredible and I did enjoy a few quiet walks myself . Location is great not too busy but easy walking to Scone amenities. Just a short walk to Woolworths / BWS/pub lunch etc . The grounds are beautiful and the house well presented .
Thanks you Jenine/family for providing such a homely stay xx
We were constantly pushed around by Covid restrictions and our host could not be of been more accommodating and more flexible. These must be frustrating tones and to be so generous with our constant changes was such a welcone relief in a stressful time. Thank you
We were looking for a change of scenery, a place to relax with a pool and found exactly that. The property is very generous and well kept with plenty of shady spots on a hot day.
Everything we needed was just a short stroll away and there are plenty of nature walk opportunities only a short drive away.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay Katrin. We hope to see you and the family back some day.
A super cute cottage in the heart of Scone with a timeless feel. Super comfortable beds and linen with a big yard to enjoy. The property is a little tired but still great nonetheless and the owner is a great communicator.
This property was perfect for us and our new born for a weekend away. It has an old country feel to the whole property and very clean and nice inside.
We will definitely stay here again when we visit scone!

About the host

Hi :D We are Jenine and Gus. We bought Hillview in early 2018 as an investment property, but so fell in love with it that we decided to keep it for our own personal use. As we live in the city, we are happy to share our country home with you when you are travelling through Scone. It is a work in progress and we are always trying to add new little features that enhance the character and charm of the home.
Why they chose this property
Hillview was originally a part of the Geraldton land grant. The original Geraldton homestead is located right next door. We believe that Hillview was built in the early 1900's as a home for the daughter of the then owners of Geraldton.
With sandstone walls making up the front of the home, and beautiful high pressed metal ceilings, Hillview is a lovely, well preserved piece of yesteryear.
It is a little piece of history in a beautiful country town.
What makes this property unique
A few years ago, Hillview had a very eccentric owner who turned the gardens into her own little paradise. There was a viewing platform overlooking 100 David Austen roses (sadly no longer there), blue gardens, red gardens, beautiful trees, and a pool area that reminded her of her trip to the Greek Islands. Whilst the yard is still beautiful, we are continuously working on restoring all of her work that has been neglected over the years. The views from the house out into the yard are beautiful to wake up to. A morning coffee out the back is always the first call of the day, and lazy evenings or afternoons on the front verandah are always a treat.
